The Headmaster Alpha's Mate
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 125

Chloe sighed as she looked out of the barbie bedroom window, at the rising sun as it peaked up above the tall trees. Pink, reds and greys blended into each other, it looked peaceful and picture perfect.

“Red sky in the morning, sailors warning.” She whispered with a sigh.

Today was the day, and she knew they had planned everything to perfection, she still felt like there was something she was missing.

“Hey, Ellie will come for Phoenix at around 3pm, when Liane will take them to the church.” Zander whispered.

“Yeah, I know, having Liane transport them is amazing, they will not leave a trail of their scent for the rogues and the packs to follow, nor will they see that we are prepared for the attack.” Chloe whispered.

“But still, I feel like I am missing something, a key part.” Chloe sighed.

Zander nodded, he understood what his mate was referring to, although they had dotted every i and crossed every t in the plan, he like her felt there was something else they should have added to it, but he could not thing what.

“I wish we could mind link with Josh and Robin, that would have been perfect.” Chloe sighed.

“Yes, but the distance it to far.” Zander shrugged.

Suddenly Chloe looked up at Zander and blinked.

“That’s it.” She said eyes wide.

“What is what?” Zander smiled down at her excited face, knowing she had some sort of Eureka moment.

“How the omegas who want to help, can actually make the difference.” Chloe grinned.

“We both think they should be away from the battlefield, because as much as they have trained, and have put on loads of weight, we know they are sitting ducks and easy targets. So, what if they can help in another way? Like a human telephone line type of way?” Chloe grinned.

“A what now? I love you princess, but you are making no sense whatsoever.” Zander looked down at Chloe wondering what the heck she meant.

“Communication between our three packs is an issue, due to the distance with Joshua’s pack, and the mind link between us and Robins pack, is ‘hitty missy’, depending on if they are close to our border or the opposite side of their pack. How about we have a line of the omegas in strategic places hidden between the packs. So, Josh or whoever can link with them, and they can then link with another closer to the pack, so on and so forth, acting like a mind link phone line.” Chloe grinned.

“The only way that would work, is if the omega’s become part of all three packs.” Zander stated.

“Is that possible?” Chloe asked.

“Potentially, it has been done before during your parents reign, but only if the wolves involved swear an oath to the King and Queen who oversee those packs.” Zander shrugged.

“So, we ask them if they are happy to do that?” Chloe grinned.

“We can ask, but I would not wish to force them, Chloe.” Zander sighed.

“Of course not, but they are willing to die on a battlefield for our cause, they may wish to swear lifelong loyalty to us. It is not like we would abuse that eighter. If they do, then we can have Faith and Luke give them a quick lesson on scent masking, so that they will remain hidden.” Chloe bobbed up and down with excitement, feeling like the missing piece in the puzzle had now been found.

“Okay, let’s go see if they are happy to do this.” Zander chuckled and linked with Luke to have all the new omegas gather in the living room.

His mate was correct, sorting out the communication issues, and not relying on technology that can easily be interfered with, was the final piece in the puzzle. All he could do is explain what the oath meant, and hope that the omegas would not be put off by the official wording “OUR LIVES ARE FORFIT, WE LIVE ONLY SERVE THE CROWN.” Given what they had all been through, he hoped they trusted them enough to realise they would never take advantage of the oath.

Josh took hold of Nicki and Hannah, holding them close to his body.

“I love you, my little froggy, more than you can ever imagine.” He sighed out as he placed his finger under her chin and tilted her face upwards.

Nicki could not stop the tidal wave of tears that streamed down her face, as she looked into the amber eyes of the man who meant everything to her, and she could only pray that he would not be taken from her.

Hannah stirred in Nicki’s arms, Josh smiled down at his baby daughter, then lent down and kissed her on the forehead.

“Look after mammy for me Hannah. Daddy loves you so much.” He whispered to the baby.

A knock at the door, indicated the moment they had both been dreading, and Nicki took a shaking breath, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, to hide the fact the pack Luna had been crying.

“Alpha, Liane is downstairs.” Gav informed them both.

He looked at Josh and Nicki, his own heart breaking, as he had to say goodbye to Amy, she would also head to the church being just 15. He had, though, broken the rules, unable to stop himself, his had lips had crashed into Amy’s, then he had softly whispered ‘mate’, into her ear, just so that she knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was his, and he was hers. His lips still tingled from the k**s, it was a feeling he would never forget, one that he would always cherish, for as long as he lived.

Straightening her shoulders, Nicki walked out of the bedroom, Gavin went in and grabbed the bags she had packed, that were filled with things for Hannah. Josh held his daughter in his arms, as they descended the stairs, and stood in the foyer, joining the other pups, older wolves, and the omegas who did not wish to fight.

“Silverback Pack, follow the instructions of your Luna, keep each other safe in the church, and most of all, have faith. Faith that we will prevail, faith that you will see your loved ones again, because faith drives out fear, and I do not want any of you to fear.” Josh announced.

“See you when it is over.” Josh whispered to Nicki kissing her softly on the forehead.

Josh nodded at Liane, who instructed everyone to touch the person in front of them, and they all disappeared.

“Pack, be aware we will be being watched, hence why we used Liane to transport our loved ones, to cover the fact that we know what is to happen. Try to act normally, I want to see you all smiling and laughing as if this is any other day. We have a plan, and we will prevail, they have lost the element of surprise, but we still have our own surprises for them.” Josh stated.

“Yes Alpha.”

Josh walked out onto the back lawned area, and looked over towards Hannah’s old cottage, and let out a sigh.

“Watch over them.” He whispered to the air.

Kris and Gav joined him, and they walked together towards the southern border, just as they did most nights. Nothing different, nothing changing. Only this time, they wanted to set a trap.

“Where is Luna Nicki this evening?” Kris loudly asked.

“Not to loud, just normal range Kris, else you will blow it.” Josh linked his Gamma.

“Hannah was up all night again, so I have sent her for a nap.” Josh answered.

“Do you want me to stand guard?” Kris asked, after all it was the Gamma’s responsibility to look after the Luna of the pack.

“No, she is fine, nobody will bother her out in the rear cottage, most people don’t even realise it is where we stay.” Josh smiled.

“Well, it was a great idea Josh, one of my better ones.” Gav smirked, selling the narrative to who ever was listening.

“Yeah, for once.” Josh laughed slightly, hoping it sounded carefree and not as strained as he felt.

“Given you both stay there every night, can I not have your Alpha suit, its much bigger than the Beta one?” Gav stated.

“Oi, I know you are a beta, but I am the one with a mate.” Kris argued, playing his part to perfection.

“I have a mate!” Gav growled.

“Not one you can sleep with.” Kris laughed, the banter came naturally to them, all they could hope is that whoever was watching and listening just beyond the borders would take the bait.

As they passed the border patrols, they nodded, and asked if everything was okay.

“Yes Alpha, normal boring night on watch.” One stated to him.

Josh nodded, he loved his pack, but they really needed to learn acting skills, some were perfect, others overplaying their part slightly.

Josh, Gav and Kris continued to do their walk, then headed off towards the pack house. He could only hope it had worked.

Robin let out a sigh in his office, he looked over at Lacey, and patted his knee. Lacey walked over to her mate, and sat down on his lap, snuggling her head into his neck.

“I think it is all the waiting around that is the hardest part.” Lacey sighed.

“Agreed, I would rather be in the fight, than just sat waiting for it to happen.” Robin sighed out.

“Delphine has just finished training, as usual, but she made it nowhere near as aggressive as normal, to conserve everyone’s energy.” Lacey informed her mate.

“Yes, just a warmup session.” Robin sighed.

“Do you think we will get attacked first?” Lacey asked.

“Second, they think Zander will rush to help Josh, and we are the weaker pack, so will overpower us, then move to Crescent moon.” Robin sighed.

“They no nothing about us, or you, if they think that you are the weakest link.” Lacey sighed kissing her mark on Robin’s neck.

“The sun is beginning to set.” Lacey sighed as she looked out of the window.

“Not long now.” Robin stated, then lifted her up placing her back on the floor.

“Time to go and look like we are having just another normal night.” Robin sighed, then holding Lacey’s hand, intertwining their fingers they walked out into the packhouse living quarters.

Drake and Caroline lay in the thick undergrowth, they were dressed head to toe in black. Liane had transported them to their current position around four miles from the Silver moon Pack border,. They were the first set of omega’s in the chain.

“I hate to say this mate, but you stink of cow shit.” Caroline giggled through mind link.

“Right back at you mate.” Drake laughed.

They had both been the first to offer their lifelong oath, soon others followed, and they had just enough omega’s to form the line. Every eight mile, a pair of omegas hid in the forest, dressed in black, and covered in animal muck to cover their scent. The ‘communication line’ as Chloe had called it was key something that the enemy would never expect them to have.

“Alpha wants a situation report.”

The omega further up the communication line asked.

“All quiet, nothing come from Alpha Josh to say they are under attack yet.” Drake answered, knowing that the message would be with Zander shortly.

“Does it sound wrong, that I wish it would just start already, I hate this waiting around.” Caroline asked her mate.

“No, I think we all feel the same.” Drake sighed.

Ellie sat holding onto Phoenix, as Tom and James both looked at her their eyes wide with worry.

“Will Mam be okay?” Tom asked for the umpteenth time.

“She has a different job now Tom, both her and Drake will be nowhere near the fighting, try not to worry.” Ellie sighed.

The less the pups knew what was going on the better, just in case. She knew every precaution had been taken, but nothing was ever certain in war.

Vicar Ted walked over to the gathered pups and omegas, they were staying in the main church building, only if they were discovered would he send them to the old priest holes.

“Anyone like some tea, or hot milk?” he kindly asked.

“I think hot milk for the younger pups please Vicar, maybe help them sleep tonight.” Nicki answered.

“Where is your Mam?” Ellie asked looking around the packs refugee’s

“At the hospital, she refused to leave Andrew, saying he would need her help.” Nicki sighed.

“I am sure she will be fine.” Ellie smiled at Nicki, who nodded her head.

“All we can do, is wait hope and pray.” Nicki sighed out, determined not to give in to the fear that was trying to grip at her very soul.

Josh walked in to the packhouse, closely followed by Gav, Kris had gone over to Zoe, he did not want to be far from her. The waiting was excruciating for all of them, and Josh wondered if Chloe had gotten the date right. Suddenly there was a loud howl from the boarder, and he looked at his Beta.

“Drake has just linked, the Rogues are attacking Silver Moon Now Alpha.”

“WARRIORS, SHIFT AND HEAD TOWARDS SILVER MOON NOW!” Josh gave the command.

This was it, the wait was over.
