The Headmaster Alpha's Mate
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 124

Chloe sat on the edge of her bed, Phoenix on her lap as she attempted to place a small bow in her blonde soft curls. It was a difficult task, because the little girl was having none of it, and as soon as Chloe got it in place, Phoenix pulled it out again.

Zander stood in the doorway leaning against the frame, as he chuckled at his two favourite girls in a battle of wills, and he had a feeling the smallest one was going to win this round.

“Seriously, our daughter does not wish to look pretty for her big day.” Chloe sighed.

Zander chuckled and tilted his head.

“Bow or not, she is still very pretty. How many times did your mother try and get you to ‘dress pretty’ when you wanted your own style?” Zander asked raising his eyebrows at his mate.

Chloe let out a sigh and nodded, it was true, Diane Handcock had always told her to wear nice clothes, and never accepted or appreciated her unique style. She never thought it would happen, but here she was, imposing a pink bow on her daughter, who clearly did not want it.

“Yeah, you are right… Sorry Phoenix, Mammy was being silly, you do not have to wear the bow in your hair.” Chloe smiled down at her daughter.

Instantly Phoenix scrunched up her little face, grabbing the bow, and began to cry.

“You don’t have to wear it, Phoenix.” Chloe smiled, reassuring her little girl.

Clearly not liking that answer, the little one threw herself to the ground and begun to wail, stamping her little feet.

“What is going on?” Chloe asked, concern etched on her face, she had never seen Phoenix behave this way.

“Oh, that is our daughter expressing herself, she is now confident enough to have her first tantrum. Now, best thing we can do is ignore it.” Zander laughed, then walked over to Chloe and kissed her on the cheek.

No more than thirty seconds later, Phoenix looked up at Chloe and Zander, then pulled herself up and stretched out her arms for a cuddle.

Chloe picked her up, as Phoenix reached out for the bow, and tried to put it in her hair.

“I guess she does want it in now.” Zander laughed.

“Really Phoenix?” Chloe asked laughing at her daughter once more.

“Okay, well is everyone ready to go?” Chloe asked with a sigh as she tied the bow once more into Phoenix hair.

“Yes, Ted said to be at the church for 3pm, he will do the christening for the girls, it will be done by around four when we get back to the pack, given it will already be dark by then we will go out and do the dedication to the pack ceremony.” Zander smiled.

Chloe nodded, then looked to her mate.

“Did you speak with Peter at the council again?” she asked.

“Yes, given that idiotic terrorist organisation has taken credit for the bridge exploding, he said that will be the official line. He told me to deal with Martin as I saw fit, once the war is over.”

“It was a miracle that family of humans were unhurt, how they survived being thrown from the bridge like that and landing in the water, only to swim away unhurt, is beyond me. Martin is a lucky man.” Chloe added.

“Yes, he is, our allies are all aware, and all of them agreed that given there were no serious injuries to any human, they are happy to leave it as is. After all, they were heading out to attack us first. So, all’s well that ends well, so to speak” Zander smiled.

“Tactically it was a brilliant move, it was the execution of it that caused the issue.” Zander sighed.

“Yes, I know, we need everyone on board with the plans moving forward, no more surprises.” Chloe agreed.

“Right, come on, let’s get this little girl christened and dedicated, so that we can enjoy a normal well normal ish, day.” Zander smiled.

As Chloe stood up, she saw a picture form in her head, a newspaper with 29th January written on it, the darkness fell as rogues appeared out of the woods surrounding Silvermoon pack, then the vision changed to Silverback pack, where warriors begun to breach the pack borders, whilst most of the pack were helping Robin and Lacey’s pack, leaving Joshua, Gav and a couple of the older warriors to defend the pack.

Blinking up at Zander.

“Two days, we have two days left, the attack will begin in Silvermoon pack as darkness falls on 29th.” Chloe prophesised.

Nicki and Josh stood with Hannah dressed in a long white traditional christening gown, both parents beaming with pride. Cheryl wiped a happy tear from her eye, as she stood arm linked with her handsome mate.

“I don’t care what happens Andrew. Eight months ago, I was living terrified of my own shadow because of the abuse of my ex-husband. Now, my daughter who also suffered at his hands is happy, loved, and has a beautiful daughter of her own, protected by this pack. I am stood here, with the man of my dreams, someone who loves me, who I love passionately, who is my everything. I feel whole, and I would not change a moment of my life after finding this pack, no matter what the outcome of this war is.” Cheryl sighed with happiness.

Andrew wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his side.

“I love you more than life” He whispered, then his lips found hers, as he kissed Cheryl passionately.

“Don’t look Hannah, Granny and Granddad are getting all freaky with each other.” Nicki laughed, pretending to cover the sleeping baby’s eyes.

Cheryl giggled shaking her head at Nicki, as Liane arrived walking beside Hamish and Douglas.

“Okay, so I will not be able to go into the church, but I can take you to the door.” Liane grinned as Hamish and Douglas chuckled.

“I want a few more as well to take with me.” Liane smiled, as Chloe walked down the stairs holding Phoenix, Zander by her side.

“What is your record.” Hamish asked Liane.

“Four, so far, but today I am feeling confident, so I am going to try for ten.” Liane grinned.

“Okay, why not try for a whole pack?” Douglas encouraged her.

Liane looked, her confidence waning slightly, at the increase in numbers.

“Nothing ventured nothing gained, come on, you can try with the whole Ronsay pack, I am sure you can do it.” Hamish joined in the encouragement.

“Auch, I agree with Hamish, after all large numbers are just extra noughts on the end.” Douglas nodded at Liane.

Delphine and Issac walked over to Liane.

“Hey, you got this Liane.” Issac encouraged her as Delphine nodded her head in approval.

“Okay, I will try, but not promising anything.” Liane sighed, as the Ronsay pack gathered around.

Chloe, Zander, Nicki, Josh, Robin and Lacey all applauded as without further warning Liane and the whole of Ronsay pack disappeared without trace.

“She’s only gone and done it!” Robin laughed.

“Yes, and that means our plan will work.” Josh grinned happily kissing Nicki on the side of her head.

“Damn right it will.” Chloe added with a grin, after all it had been her plan.

“Come on, not everyone gets to go the quick way, we need to head to the cars, and make our way to the church.” Zander chuckled.

Liane arrived outside the church with the whole of Ronsay pack, Ted the vicar stood outside, a warm smile on his face.

“Liane, isn’t it?” Ted asked.

Liane froze slightly and nodded her head.

“Why don’t you come inside, the radiators are on, it is quite warm.” Ted grinned at her.

“Sorry Vicar, I cannot go inside.” Liane sighed out.

“Why not?” Ted asks.

Liane looked at her feet, then back up to the kind vicar.

“It gives me the ebey gebey’s.” She whispered.

“Hum, I see, and why is that, Liane?” Ted pushed, still smiling at her.

“My father is part witch, I used to use spells. I don’t anymore though, and never will again, my transportation thing is a wolf gift, not witchcraft.” Liane informed him.

“So, you are never going to use dark power again?” Ted looked down at her.

“No, never, I am sorry I was ever involved in any of Amanda Bines schemes.” Liane sighed.

“Then, you can come in, there is no condemnation in Christ, you may find peace, and love though.” Ted winked, then held out his arm to Liane, as she tentertivly took it, and he led her into the church.

Chloe watched and smiled, as Vicar Ted poured the baptismal water over Phoenix’s head, her little girl looked up at him and scowled.

“Nawty boy” she shouted pointing at him.

The whole congregation laughed as Phoenix pouted her little face, then she continued to rant, most of it illegible.

“ba, boo da, boo ga ba Nawty boy,” she continued wagging her little finger in his face.

“Guess she didn’t like that.” Zander chuckled, taking Phoenix from Ted.

Next it was Hannah’s turn, who remained sleeping even as the water was poured on her head, the baby did not make a sound.

“Wow, she is so good.” Chloe whispered to Nicki.

Nicki smiled at Josh with pride as they both looked down at their baby girl.

The service finished Ted walked over to Robin.

“So, party at the pack, you got any of that whiskey left?”

Robin chuckled and placed his arm around Ted’s shoulders.

“Chloe banned it; however, I have a secret stash, not a word.” Robin grinned at the Vicar then placed his finger on his l*p.

“Understood Alpha, say no more.” Ted grinned.

“Right, lets make our way to the pack house.” Zander stated,

Quick as a flash Liane stepped forwards.

“Everyone hold hands.” She shouted, then in the next blink the whole congregation including Vicar Ted were stood just outside the Crescent moon pack house.

“Wow, you did over a 100 people there Liane.” Chloe grinned at her.

“Like Douglas said, it is just noughts.” Liane grinned with pride.

“How far can you go with this gift?” Ted asked Liane, totally intrigued.

“Not sure, I have done a couple of hundred mile before.” Liane shrugged.

“Wow, when I retire, I have always wanted to travel the world, things that we only ever witness on postcards, or when you load up a laptop.” Ted sighed.

“I tell you what Vicar, when you retire, I will take you anywhere you want to go, and have you home intime for tea.” Liane grinned at him.

“That my dear girl, is a deal.” Ted grinned at her.

The winter darkness fell around the pack, as Zander took hold of Chloe’s hand, and Josh took hold of Nicki’s as they made their way to the large stage area that was set up outside. All the packs gathered for the dedication ceremony. Robin quickly put a shot of whiskey into Ted’s cup, and winked before they both headed outside, as Lacey shook her head laughing at the pair of them.

Zander stepped forward, holding Phoenix in his arms, as Chloe watched on with a proud smile on her face. Josh did the same with Nicki and Hannah, then looked to his older brother, who was now the King, irrespective of the outcome of this war, and he bowed his head.

“Your Majesty, it is traditional for the Royal Family to always go first.” Josh smiled.

Chloe furrowed her brows, this had been Josh and Nicki’s day, and she wanted them to go first with Hannah, but Nicki raised her eyebrows at Chloe.

“It is the way may Queen.” Nicki stated, then grinned at Chloe as she pouted that her best friend was calling her the Queen.

Seeing a potential argument ensuing Zander stepped forward, and began the dedication.

“Crescent Moon pack, I hear by present to you Phoenix Colton, will you swear to watch over her, to guide and protect her, as the child of your Alpha and Luna?” Zander’s voice echoed around the feel

“We Will.” The Crescent Moon pack responded.

“Do you promise to love her as if she were your own child?” Zander asked

“We Do.” The pack responded.

“From this day forth, Phoenix Colton, daughter of King Zander Colton and Queen Chloe Colton will have the official title of Princess. We stand in her stead and swear to each of you, that we will raise Princess Phoenix to serve you, to honour you, and to put the needs of the pack before her own.”

Zander announced, then lifted his daughter into the air for the pack to see her, as the clouds parted in the sky above, and a perfect crescent moon shone down on them.
