The Headmaster Alpha's Mate
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 114

It had been two days since Hannah took her final breaths, the snow lay thick on the ground, over the small river in the trees beyond the run-down small shack, stood Chloe, Zander, Josh, Nicki, Robin and Lacey, at the edge of the grave they had dug. They had decided to make Hannah’s funeral small, just them. Most of the pack had been scared of the old lady, and Chloe had insisted only those who loved her should attend. Hannah had lived her life in solitude, a fear of her gift caused her to be left alone, just as she had liked it. So, the decision was made to bury her close to her home. To leave her home as it was, the way she liked it, so that she would be forever in her own small part of the forest.

As Alpha of the Silverback pack, Josh stepped forward.

“As we lay our beloved Hannah to rest, we remember what she stood for. How she lived her life, ignoring those who were prejudiced against her, because of the amazing gift she had. Yet still, despite the fear of her pack members and their rejection of her, she forgave then and still offered her help, and strove to make life better for everyone. She was goodness personified and will be a miss to all who know and love her. Thank Hannah for everything, may you rest in eternal peace.”

They filled up the grave, as Chloe stepped forward and placed her wedding bouquet on top of her grave, kissed her fingers and placed them on the ground she was burried. A small stack of grey stones marked her grave, with a bronze plaque engraved “Hannah, much loved by those who knew her. Forever in our hearts.”

Nicki planted the first of the plants that would grow over the rocks, a natural, and beautiful living gravestone, to mark the amazing life of the formidable woman.

Zander held Chloe’s hand as they walked away from the small grave, holding Phoenix in his strong arms. The group made their way back to the pack house, half-way across the field, Chloe suddenly stopped in her tracks, her eyes glazing over.

“What’s wrong?” Zander asked, his features full of concern.

“We have no more than three weeks Zander, today is a sad day, but we must push forward, our enemy is making their plans.” Chloe stated.

She could not understand how she knew, she just did, almost like a voice was telling her information.

Zander nodded and looked over to Josh and Robin.

“We need to speak with Liane, then we make our own plans.” He said, his voice filled with authority.

Liane sat in the cold holding cell in the basement of The Crescent moon pack house, with only a couple of blankets to keep her warm. Two days she had remained here, yet nobody had come, nobody had even begun to question her. Another wave of fear washed over her, she had always known this day would come, where secrets and lies would be exposed. Her choices were simple, tell the truth, or lie. Taking a deep breath, she could only hope that the Alpha’s and Luna’s would believe her. The chances were, they would not, even if she did tell them the whole truth, and in all honesty, she could not blame them. She had done so much wrong, she could never expect forgiveness, nor did she feel that she deserved it.

A guard entered the long corridor and opened the cell door, this was it, the waiting was over, and she had a choice to make, the truth, or stick to the lie.

“Follow me.” The guard instructed.

Liane nodded her head, standing to her feet, following the guard, to another room in the basement, as a wave of fear washed over her, causing her body to shake with distress.

Chloe sat beside Zander at the centre of the long table in the interview room, beside her was Josh, and Nicki. Beside Zander sat Robin and Lacey, as they awaited the arrival of Liane. Taking a breath, Chloe blinked as two visions flashed before her eyes. One was of destruction, dead werewolves of their pack, having been overpowered, the other was of dead rogues, around the Silver Moon pack, whilst the pack all gathered by the edge of the forest in Silverback pack, large numbers. She could not work out which was the correct vision, and Hannah’s words about warnings, echoed in her mind. It seemed to her, what they decided today with Liane, would forge the outcome of one of these visions, and she turned to Zander.

“I need Faith down here, I have discernment, but I would like her gift as well, the decisions we make now, will affect the outcome of what is to come, and we need to be doubly sure we are correct.” Chloe stated.

Zander nodded his head, his face a stoic mask, and linked with Faith for her to come and take her place beside them.

Faith arrived, and stood in the corner of the room, no words were spoken, she knew they required her gift, and she was more than happy to help.

The door opened, and the guard brought Liane in, then pushed her into the seat before the Alpha’s.

“Liane, you are here because things do not add up, and we want some answers. The answers to these questions will decide your fate. Do you understand?” Zander asked.

Liane nodded her head, then looked to the ground, tears forming in her eyes, blinking them away, she looked up and waited.

“Liane, we want the truth.” Chloe stated.

“Luna, I can tell the truth, or I can lie, and tell you that I am telling the truth. However, I have made my choice, to tell you the truth, the real truth, and accept your punishment.” Liane nodded at them.

“Okay, then start at the beginning.” Zander ordered.

Liane took a deep breath, and nodded, then began.

“I am originally a rogue, I do not know where I came from, not really, but now I know that I was cast out as a baby from the Ullswater pack. For years I lived with a nice couple, just beyond the pack borders, they had found me wrapped in a blanket, fending for myself. They loved me as their own child, and we all lived in peace away from the pack. We were rogues, but not bad people. However, when I reached 18, it was clear I was not just a werewolf, I had a power, like magic. My parents still loved me, but they were afraid of what I could do, and so I decided to leave them. They love me, and I love them, and that is the reason I could not stay, and watch the fear in their eyes when I would suddenly disappear, or I could manipulate the earth, causing the ground beneath my feet to open up, just by a thought. So, I left them, living a solitary life for over six months. A couple of years ago, I was bathing in the lake, as I always did, when I was approached by a woman who claimed I was her daughter. The woman told me, she had to abandon me when I was a tiny infant, to give me a chance of survival. She also told me that now I was of age, that the time had come to fulfil my destiny, and help save the Ullswater pack. She told me that I am a special wolf, one of a kind, and if I were to be captured by their enemy’s I would be used to destroy the pack, that they posed the ultimate danger to all of our survival. The woman came to me on multiple occasions, before stating that the time had come for me to fulfil my destiny, and that I was going to be taken to Berwick pack, there I would use my ability to forge a mate bond, with a pack member of either Wearside Pack, Northumberland pack, or Crescent Moon pack.” Liane bowed her head, tears pricking her eyes.

“Who is your mother?” Chloe asked.

“Amanda Bines, and the reason I am special, is my father practiced witchcraft. They had an affair, and I am the result of that dalliance. Or so I was led to believe.” Liane explained.

Chloe nodded her head, it was as she had suspected, as soon as Liane started to speak, and she felt this was the truth, glancing over to Faith, she saw her beta wolf nod once, in agreement so far Liane was truthful.

“Only, I do not believe now that woman is my mother.” Liane sighed.

“Why?” Zander asked.

“At first my wolf seemed to recognise a familiar scent of a parent, but after time it wore off, I cannot explain it. However, I was given words to say when I met any wolf from the packs I was told to infiltrate. It was then I realised I had been conned.” Liane sighed again tears falling from her eyes.

“How?” Nicki asked, her brows furrowed as she listened to Liane.

“Because when I met my fake mate, at first, I also felt the mate bond, but then as time passed, it weakened, and my mates wolf knew I was an imposter. It is true that he had an affair, but he had found his true mate, and that bond was stronger than ours had ever been. The same has happened with me an that woman, at first, she felt like my mother, but now my wolf knows she is nothing but an imposter who has placed me in this situation for her own gain.” Liane let out a soft sob.

“When Delphine arrived, Amanda appeared once more, and told me to act upset about the rejection of my fake mate, and to play on my emotions, so that she might bring me here, so that I could fulfil my purpose, to help them win the war that was coming.” Liane explained.

“So even though you knew this woman was a fraud, you still came.” Josh growled out.

Chloe placed her hand on her brother-in-law, to calm him, then nodded at Liane to continue.

“Yes, I was told, to spy on your pack, to use my teleportation abilities to gain information from the Alpha’s offices, of each of your packs.” Liane admitted.

“To report in, every few days, and give her the information, so that they might defeat you. I did that, for the first two weeks, but it was then I realised I was being used, and that you are not bad people.” Liane stated.

Robin let out a growl, that this wolf had been able to teleport into their offices, for all their security measures, she was able to gather key information.

Liane pushed on with her story, tears now falling down her cheeks.

“I promise you, after the first two weeks, I never gave any information to them that you did not set up for me to give. I know you became cautious around me, and so I used that to my advantage, in feeding the false information you had planted, even though I knew it was incorrect. I have not entered the Alpha offices since that date.” Liane looked at the Alpha’s and Lunas, her eyes begging them to believe her.

“Why did you not come to us and tell us what was happening, if you realised what you were doing was wrong?” Lacey asked.

“I should have, but if I am honest, I really did not know what to do, I was torn.” Liane said, then bowed her head and looked at her feet.

“Then when I decided that I wanted nothing to do with Amanda Bines and the Ullswater pack, I was fearful that you would not believe me.” Liane added.

“I have not given anything away about your plans, but I do have knowledge of Amanda Bines plans. I wanted to tell you after your wedding, but when I had to walk on consecrated ground, I was consumed by utter fear, and so took myself off, not knowing why I could not set foot in that church. I found myself in a cave, I do not know where it is, or how I teleported myself to that place. A man who claims to be my father was waiting for me. He told me, that he had changed, that he could offer me sanctuary, that he had repented of his use of witchcraft, and that I should turn my back on that ability, never to use it again. He also told me that my mother was a wolf, an omega wolf, and that she had in fact left me outside the Ullswater pack in a bid to protect me from the harsh reality’s of being an omega in that pack. My real mother is dead, she died from starvation, and being overworked in Ullswater. I believe this is true. The man who stated he is my father, wanted me to stay with him, to hide from Amanda Bines, to simply disappear from the face of the earth, and live in peace with him. I chose to come back, because I want revenge for my mother, and for the lie’s I was exposed to, for the gaslighting, and the manipulation. I saw how you rescued those other omegas, I know that you are all just and fair, that you treat everyone with love, kindness and respect, and I honestly was going to tell you my story when I got back, and give you the information I have, so that I can help you. But when I arrived back, I was captured.” Liane sighed.

Chloe glanced at Faith, who nodded, then looked at Liane.

“So what information is it that you want to give us?” Chloe asked the million dollar question.
