Chapter 132

“He took her. He f*****g took her from me”

“What is the problem? Did anything happen to Beth?” Alex asked as he watched Asher squeezed the piece of paper between his palm.

“Oh my God! I knew it. I knew something terrible has happened” Izzy let out in panic as she continued to gasp with tears in her eyes. Alex quickly gathered her into his arms before she could crumble to the floor.

“Asher will get her back so put yourself together, Izzy. We will get her back” Alex assured her and she nodded even though she was still far from putting herself together.

“where were you when Beth was taken away? I thought I asked you to stay by her side at all times?”

“I’m sorry Alpha but I didn’t mean to leave her even for a second but she wanted me to make sure the baby was fine and I just left” Izzy said as her tears began trickling down her cheeks.

“Where is my Son?” Asher suddenly asked as he turned to face them, his dark eyes even darker as he stared at both his Beta and Izzy.

“What?” She croaked out in momentarily confusion, her hands darting out to wipe out stray tears from her eyes.

“ Where is my son?” Asher let out another growl.

“fine.. He is fine, he is sleeping in his cot right where I left him.” Izzy answered immediately finally getting a grip on herself.

Asher said nothing in reply as he took off towards the door and Alex quickly race after him.

“Gather everyone, including women and children. I need to find out how did that criminal was able to gain entry despite the tight security I have put in place tonight fast before I start picking them myself” Asher said as he suddenly came to an abrupt stop, half way across the path leading to his the mating arena.

People were still waiting at the arena when he arrived without Elizabeth by his side but no one could dare to ask what had happened as they rather whisper and murmur among themselves.

His brother Jax and his wife stood at a corner watching the whole scene. Seem he wasn’t surprised given how much calmness he was excluding but he knew better than to comment on it. Asher might be his brother but if there is one thing he has learnt is never to upset him when he is already pissed.

Alex cleared his throat and took the center stage and the murmuring crowd became quiet.

“Everyone. I know we have all gathered here tonight to celebrate our Alpha reunion but it’s unfortunate that I’m here to announce that the bride has been kidnapped, she is nowhere to be found. One of our enemy, Bradley Lincoln has been among our mist and even took her away.” Alex announced and the crowds erupted into another uproar.

“Now keep shut everyone!” Asher ordered. His hands clenching by his side as he glared them down.

“I’m aware most of you are surprised and most are simply faking it but make no mistake. I will leave no stone unturned until I bring her home. Bradley took something from me before and this time I will make sure he realizes why I’m Alpha Asher Romano Vega” Asher paused as he stared at the crowd closely. His eyes caught his brother’s eyes briefly before it darted away,

“One of you made his task possible for him and I promise you, that person will not go unpunished” Asher threatened and the pack members became filled with fear as they shuffle from one feet to the next.

They know their Alpha very well, he doesn’t give empty threats and never goes back on his words. He meant that statement he uttered.

Asher drew Alex closer and whispered some words in his ears.

“I’m going to get Beth and will be back soon.”

Asher turned to leave but Alex drew him back immediately.

“Are you insane? Why would you go alone? Do you know what the old witted fool is planning? You should stay back and let’s plan Beth’s rescue instead of doing things in your own way.”

“I don’t give a damn, the bastard can do as he wishes but what I won’t allow is for him to touch a hair on her head,” Asher said but still, Alex didn’t let go of him.

“ Come on Asher. Elizabeth is his daughter. He won’t hurt her and if anything, he will use her as bait. Can’t you see the writing on the wall?”

“It’s obvious Bradley kidnapped Beth to lure you into his hideout so he could kill you. Can’t you see it’s a trap? You are the Alpha and your safety and that of this pack comes first. With your permission, I say we keep a level head and sort it out together.” Alex said.

“I’m going Alex so don’t try to stop me”

“Okay then, I would go with you.” Alex volunteered but Asher released himself from Alex’s hold.

“No, I need you here to keep an eye on things. I will take some backup but you must stay here”

Alex rushed to Jax immediately who had been watching the whole scenario with folded arms.

“Hey! You should stop your brother, he is making a mistake if he thinks he can save Beth by himself.” Alex said and Jax gave a careless shrug.

“What’s my business? Why should I care?” Jax asked, feeling less concerned.

“It’s your damn business because he is your f*****g brother”

“Watch your tone, Alexander and besides, what kind of a brother walks his elder brother out on his wedding day?” Jax asked.

“Anyways, don’t answer. I should really get going since Asher already ordered me out like an hour ago.” Jax said and turned to leave but Alex blocked his way immediately.

“You really are worst than I thought and if Asher hasn’t kicked you out already? I would have done so. Now leave!”

“You barked so much now Alexander. If I didn’t know better, I would have think you to be the new Alpha. Anyways, get out of my way”

Alex hesitated for a moment before moving aside to allow him passage.

“Would Beth be fine? I am scared,” Izzy asked the moment she noticed Alex approaching her, his worried expression almost mirroring hers.

He gave a small nod before giving her hand a squeeze with a k**s to her forehead.

“Everything is going to be fine” Alex assured and Izzy exhaled sharply.

After a while, Alex escorted Izzy to the room she kept Sam.

The baby was sleeping soundly.

“Is everything okay with him?” Alex asked and Izzy nodded positively as he went on to check on him still soundly asleep in his cot.

“He is sleeping already. Where’s Asher?” Izzy asked and Alex sighed.

“He went after Lincoln”

“That same man? I hope he doesn’t hurt Beth, I am so scared right now. Why does this have to happen on their mating ceremony day?” Izzy asked as tears welled up in her eyes.

“I don’t know but all indication, it’s obvious he was waiting for a moment like this one to come after Asher’s after he failed to capture him the last time but be rest assured that Asher will do whatever it takes to bring her back safe and sound”.

Izzy smiled lightly with a nod, “Thank you”

“You should stay here and watch over Sam, raise an alarm if you notice anything. Please stay safe, I will be right back.” Alex said as he kissed her forehead and then left the room afterwards.
