Beth couldn’t believe she could ever take this very decision. she sounded so confident when she left the pack that she didn’t imagined she’d be on her way home. She can only imagine the surprised and shocked looks on their faces once they see them.

“Izzy would be so happy to see me right? Alex won’t be an exception, he will be so shocked to see me. Asher would be more than shocked, I can’t wait to see them all.” Beth said silently and smiled.

She looked at the side mirror and noticed the look on James face.

“Are you mad at me?” Beth said and Paul smirked.

“I am not mad at you but I am scared of the Alpha”

Beth laughed lightly.

“Leave Asher to me. No need to be scared”

°°° some hours later °°

Beth arrived at the pack and everywhere seem rather quiet. The few people she saw seem rather busy to even pay attention to her.

It looks like something important was going on” Beth wondered as she walked in slowly, Sam was still asleep, the little boy was tired after the long journey. She was half way into the building when she heard someone yelling her name.

“Beth! How?, you came back?” Izzy asked with so much excitement and joy as she hurried towards her.

They were unable to hug properly because of Sam who she strapped on her chest. Izzy was shocked and felt so happy to see her.

“Gosh! I couldn’t stop thinking and missing you as the day passed. I really felt lonely without you because you were my only pal. I am glad you changed your mind and came back,” Izzy said as her eyes became teary.

She side-hugged Beth again.

“Me too, life in the city was lonely, I was tired and kept missing you all so I had to come back. Hope I get accepted back,” Beth said and Izzy shook her head in disbelief.

“You can’t be serious, you’re always welcome at any time. How’s my little boy, hope he is fine?” Izzy asked as she collected Sam from Beth.

“He hasn’t been feeling too well. I was confused and couldn’t do this alone, that’s one of the reasons I came back. By the way, what’s happening? Is there going to be any celebration or ceremony?” Beth asked and Izzy gulped.

“You should go and rest first,” Izzy said and tried to pull Beth in but she shrugged out of her hold, Beth knew something was wrong already judging from Izzy’s facial expression.

“What’s going on?” She asked again, now more than curious.

Izzy opened her mouth but halted in her reply.

“Where is Asher right now?”

Izzy sighed, running a hand through her face anxiously. “He and everyone are gathered at the arena for an announcement”

“What sort of announcement, Izzy? I mean, is there something you’re not telling me?” Beth asked and Izzy sighed.

“You should come in and rest first, you look stressed out” Izzy persuaded, avoiding her question.

“And why are you avoiding my questions?! Did something bad happen or what?”

“Nothing bad happened. I will explain in details if you follow me in”

“Your facial expression shows that it’s something I would not be happy about so why don’t you tell me now? Is the ceremony for Asher?” Beth asked, growing impatient.

“Today is the day Alpha Asher is mated to another as his Queen Luna”

“Who is it ?” Beth asked sharply as her heartbeat raced.

“Just calm down and listen to what I have to say”

“So Asher was waiting for me all this while so he can pretend I was never here?” Beth asked, holding back her tears.

“It’s not like that, I don’t think Asher is even happy about this”

“If he is not happy about this, then why is he getting mated to her? Did he not choose her?” Beth shouted as her eyes turned red.

“He didn’t choose her by himself. Asher placed an Alpha female challenge and Kara won so he had no choice than to accept his fate. He is getting mated to her, that’s what the ceremony is all about”

“Why am I even bothered when I am nothing before Asher? I should have stayed back instead of coming back here to embrace the worst news” Beth lamented.

“Don’t say such a thing like that, I was not happy with Asher when he made that decision. Giving it a second thought, I couldn’t blame Asher because he thought you must have moved on. He can’t be lonely forever and remember he is the Alpha of our pack, so therefore, he must have a Luna”

“It’s fine, I think I should just go back, it would be better” Beth said sadly and Izzy took hold of her hand.

“Where the hell do you think you’re going? Do you think I would let you go out of my sight after you left for weeks? Never! You came at the right time so do not hesitate to take back what is rightfully yours” Izzy said and Beth looked at her, a bit confused.

“What do you mean?”

Izzy smirked at Beth’s question and pulled her closer.

“You can stop the ceremony and I want you to do that, don’t allow them to get mated. I know Asher would regret it if this happens so you are going to stop it from happening. Stop Kara from being crowned!” Izzy said darkly and Beth eyes widen only a little fraction.

“And why would I do that? You already said it yourself, This is Asher’s choice and I am not going to interfere, not like I care anyways” Beth said, turning her face to the other side.

“It’s so obvious that you’re lying, deep down you’re hurting that Kara took what is yours. You feel like crying your eyes out and screaming your lungs out but you can’t but I know you do care” Izzy said and Beth bit her lips trying so hard not to get Izzy words to heart and also stop her tears from falling.

“You’re in love with Asher right? It’s not bad, everyone has the right to fall in love. Asher feels the same for you so why don’t you stop this terrible thing from happening to Asher? You know how he hates Kara with passion, she would forever mock you if she finally have Asher”

She already knew Izzy is a witch, how was she able to find out about everything?

“How am I going to stop the ceremony, how will I stop Kara?” Beth said confusingly.

“It’s simple, just challenge her for the title before she is crowned,”

She narrowed her eyes into slit before stomping off towards the arena with renewed determination. Izzy not very far behind either.

Her eyes immediately scanned the crowd of wolves that had gathered for any sign of Asher. She found him standing at the head of it all, his arms folded and his face stony as he watched the crowd as well.

She hadn’t seen Asher in about two weeks but it’s wasn’t as though she had forgotten his appearance, however, seeing him for the first time in weeks made her feel as though she was seeing him for the first time in years.

The beast within her seem to stretch out under her flesh at the sight of him, delight thrilling through her mindlesslessly. Beth held her breath watching his commanding form take the center stage among his pack.

There was rustle of hushed voices, exclamation, surprise and excitement at his presence but Asher lifted his hand and they were quieted.

“I’m glad you all are gathered here today to witness the union between me and my chosen. I have judged all the she wolf who stepped forward based on ability, skills, qualification and power. Kara exceeded all the expectations and it’s only fair that she becomes Luna if there is none other to challenge her for it”

Beth world warped around her at the statement, watching as Kara reached for Asher’s arm, touching it affectionately. She stepped forward and into the arena with a determination that felt purely beast, more so than Beth.

The murmuring and small talks going on in the crowd immediately quiet down at her presence as she stood before Kara, her hands clenched tightly by her side.

“You!” Kara croaked in disbelief, her eyes narrowing back at Asher who had the same look of disbelief in his.

“I Elizabeth Lincoln, mother of Alpha Asher son, challenge you Kara for the title of Queen Luna and when I win, I will be the Queen” She snarled dangerously, a power flaring through her that reached towards her opponent savagely.

Beth didn’t have to see Asher’s face to feel his shock as she let his stare wash over her, feeling that beast within her in a delighted response but her focus entirely on Kara.
