Beth rushed down to the arena and was surprised to see how crowded the gathering was. Almost all the pack’s members were present to witness the fight between their Alpha and Beta. She could barely see to the front from where she stood at the back.

There was a burning fire which gave light to the arena since it was night already. Beth squeezed her way into the crowd and further towards the front and right where she could get a better glimpse of the two men she had so dread for their safety.

At her presence, Most of the people made negative comments about her being the cause of the fight between the two friends but she could cared less about their opinion. She was more worried about the two angry looking men at the arena.

Her eyes darted between Asher’s bare chest and then down to his ripped muscle, not to mention his hands that were tightly clenched by his side. Fear enveloped her immediately as she caught a glimpse of the determination in Alex towards him. Was she wrong to have underestimated him? He sure as hell looks like nothing she has seen before.

She hoped Asher doesn’t kill him, Alex is a kind man. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for the situation at hand. None of it would have happened if he didn’t announcing his feelings for her to Asher.

She doesn’t want Alex to get hurt neither does she wants Alpha to lose the fight. She truly wished there was something she could do to stop them but she knew better than to get involved so instead, she prayed hard for some miracle to but something told her she was praying for way too much.

The drumming went off indicating the start of the fight.

“Now is your last chance to back out, Alex” Asher let out.

Alex replied with a snort. “Too late for that, don’t you think Alpha”

Part of her wanted to run away and to do what Asher had instructed her but her feet were already frozen to the ground as the two men collided, delivering bone crushing blows to one another.

Alex was the quicker of the two, ducking to avoid being hit, most of his punches connecting with Asher’s head. A particularly hard punch cracked against Asher’s jaw and he staggered back two steps. Alex showed his great capabilities as being the Beta of his pack, Asher was trying so hard to control himself so he won’t kill Alex. The cheering was becoming louder.

Maybe Izzy was right, Alex isn’t so helpless after all and can very much defeat Asher. Then the big Alpha threw his head back and roared, Beth b***d turned icy cold as she watch Asher erupt, fur bristled, fangs bared, muscle bulged and roped like never before as he grew taller, towering above Alex.

Evil rolled off of his beast in waves and with one almost gentle sweep, he knocked Alex flying off the fighting stage. He dropped on all four before transforming into a brown beast.

The crowd erupted as they took steps away from the two beast snarling at each other. She was startled by their sudden movement and ended up falling to the floor. When she managed to sit upright again, Asher’s wolf had Alex’s by the throat. He was growling fiercely, whipping the wolf caught in between his huge canine, left to right.

Beth held back her screams by covering her mouth with tears trickling down her cheeks.

When she couldn’t take the brutality anymore , she let out a scream loudly and Asher recognized her screams as his beast turned at her direction. Only that moment of distraction was all Alex needed as he seized the opportunity and slice Asher across the face, drawing out b***d.

Everyone gasped on sighting b***d. Asher staggered backwards, an angry growl erupting his mouth, his inner demon starting to take over. He charged towards Alex with full speed and took him by the throat once again.

Alex on the other hand had the Alpha, gripped by the fur on his neck and face trying to keep him from achieving his goal but he was no match as Asher roughly slammed him to the ground, his claws digging through his opponent flesh mercilessly.

At that moment, something unlocked inside her, if she didn’t do something soon, Alex was going to die. The thought made her ache deep inside, like if she lost him, she might lose a piece of herself and she didn’t want that.

A little gasp escaped her l*p when Alex body went limp on the floor. It was too late, there was no way he could have survived such an attack. He didn’t look like he was done yet as he made to deliver his final blow to his head

“Stop”

There was a gut retching scream which she realized was coming from her, she threw herself into their mist halting the beast in his next move.

Asher turned to face her, Alex b***d glistering on his jaw.

“Asher, please”

His features eased up to mostly human but he remained unmoved as his eyes stayed locked with hers. Another minute passed and he let out a throaty growl before shifting completely to his human form and then stepped away from Alex.

That was her cue as she quickly rushed to Alex who was now back to his human form but unconscious. The wound to his shoulders and neck pumping b***d. Beth quickly took off her clothe and applied pressure to the wound.

“Alex?” She leaned in closer, too worried for him to notice his nakedness.

“God please, don’t let him die”

She prayed silently as she knelt beside him. Alex had to live, he just had to and if not, she might never forgive herself for it.

“Let this serve as a warning and lesson to all of you, any one else who is harboring that idea of challenging me or my rules would meet the same fate as Alex but make no mistake as you won’t be as lucky as he was today”

Asher faced Alex who still laid on the ground helplessly and then directed his gaze to Beth who was still kneeling by his side.

“Guards! Take him to his room and every other person should disperse.” Asher ordered with the wave of his hand and four guards walked out and carried him over the floor.

Beth was still crouched on the floor when she felt hands grasping her shoulder and she looked up to face Asher.

“Come on, Elizabeth. Let go” He picked her off the floor and back on her feet before pulling her out of the arena with her hand grasped firmly in his.

**

It’s been hours since the fight ended but Beth was still shaken as she stood by the window, her thought filled with that of Alex wellbeing. Izzy went running to him as soon as she found out about his condition and she can’t help but wonder if he was alive

She was so lost in thought that she didn’t realized Asher had entered the room.

“Elizabeth?”

She rushed to him, seeing he was still covered in b***d.

“Asher? Are you okay?” Beth asked and Asher could see worries in her eyes as she stared at the wounds on his chest.

He smiled at her and took her hands squeezing it gently.

“I’m okay. Don’t be worried?”

“C’mon, don’t be stubborn. Let me get your wound cleaned and then you take some pain relievers. If you don’t do all these, you won’t be able to have a sound sleep tonight.” Beth said and went for the first aid box which laid on the table.

She pulled him to sit on the bed and knelt before him.

She cleaned every trace of b***d on his chest and then applied some ointment to it. He felt cold shivers as her hands continued to work her way across his bare chest. After applying the necessary things, she plastered the wounds.

“All done! Just remaining for you to take pain relievers.” Beth said, arranging the first aid box before returning it.

“I don’t need that, I am fine already. It’s just a minor scratch so don’t stress over it and thank you for fixing me up” Asher said smiling at her.

“Okay, I know you hate drugs and that’s the reason why you’re giving lame excuses.” Beth said, sitting in front of him.

“No I don’t”

“Yes you do”

There was a long silence after her reply, making the aura awkward.

“You should go to bed, it’s late.” Asher urged as he stood up to his wardrobe.
