The day passes by daily and Beth got more worried as the fight day drew nearer.

Beth was scared and continued to blame herself for everything. She couldn’t help but feel guilty even though Asher has told her countless time that it wasn’t her fault.

“Thinking about them?” Izzy asked as she dropped baby Sam in his cot.

She has been by Beth’s side for the past few days now and knows exactly when her mind is troubled by something.

“Yeah, I am just scared of what might happen if they get to fight. I won’t forgive myself if anything happens to both or if any of them gets hurt.” Beth said referring to Asher and Alex.

Izzy sat beside her on the chair and patted her shoulders.

“You should worry less, they chose to fight over you and it was never your fault. Stop getting worked up and hope for the best because there’s nothing you can do to stop them.” Izzy advised and Beth placed her chin on her palm with worries written all over her face.

“I wish I can put and end to all these, the fight is already three days away. There’s no way they can have a good relationship if that fight should happen, they will forever resent each other. That’s the last thing I would ever want to happen.” Beth explained and Izzy sighed.

“Have you seen Alex or talked to him?”

“The last time I saw him, he stubbornly said no and lately I haven’t seen him. I think he must be avoiding me so badly.” Beth said sadly.

“Why don’t you go check up on him in his room again?” Izzy suggested and Beth sighed warily.

“Asher forbids me from even going close to him. The last time I went to confront him in his room, Asher showed up and I don’t want to be caught in the act again”

“Really? And you say you need help? You’re not ready my dear.” Izzy said resting her back on the sofa.

“What do you mean?”

“What I am trying to say is that you should try and check on Alex in his room. If you luckily finds him in, you can discuss the whole issue him and plead with him again. Try luring him to back off from the fight and let’s see what happens next.”

“Are you sure? Because I’m not sure Alex would be swayed by anything I say at this point”

“If you don’t try, how would you know and Asher is going to be out all day as it is so now is your chance” izzy said and Beth couldn’t help but nod.

“If anything goes wrong, I’m blaming you for it” Beth said with a weak glare at her friend and Izzy shook her a toothy grin.

“Please take of my baby.” Beth said as her voice trailed off.

Izzy only sighed.

Beth continued to rush down the lobby and towards Alex room, praying with all her heart not to run into Asher on the way but of course her prayers were not answered as she was unlucky enough to run straight into the Alpha who was also heading towards her direction.

Before she could turn the next corner, Asher had already seen her and forcing her feet to come to an abrupt stop before him, a little smile plastered on her face.

“Going somewhere?” Asher asked curiously and she shrugged.

“No, yes, I mean, no. I was just uhm_”

She paused mid sentence when Asher suddenly took hold of her hand.

“Good that I met you here, I was coming to get you so come with me” He said and began go tug her along.

“Where are you taking me to?” Beth asked as her and Asher kept going into the woods.

“Are you scared?” Asher asked teasingly.

“No but I’m curious

“You will find out soon.” Asher said and it didn’t make her feel any less curious as they kept going into the woods. The last time she was in the woods, it was because of her first transformation and this day was broad day light.

She trust him but still can’t help but wonder what he was up to.

After a few minutes of walking and with her hand still grasp firmly in his, They suddenly stopped in a secluded part of the woods.

“We are here already.” Asher announced.

Beth looked around and wondered what exactly he was showing her as she could see nothing other than clearing and surrounding shrubs or was it possible she is missing the big picture.

“What are we going to do in this bush?” Beth asked curiously.

“Alex informed me about your transformation and how he guarded you through it and that got me a little jealous because I thought something else had happened between you too and we are here right now because I want you to transform right in front of me.”

Her eyes widen only a little fraction at his command “What? I mean, how do I shift without the moonlight,” Beth stated with panic and Asher took hold of her hands.

“Hey, it’s fine. You can do it. It’s already part of you, Elizabeth. You don’t need the power from the moon to help you shift. You just have to look into yourself and reach for that voice in your head and let it guide you”

Beth sighed and took a stance, she closed her eyes, stay focused and concentrated, just like she did before. She inhaled a deep breath and exhaled slowly as she once more reconnected with that faint voice in her head.

She imagined herself being in her wolfish form and she suddenly, she began to shift, sounds of bone cracking filled the air as her human structure and frame quickly shifted to that of wolf’s, with paws shuffling on the ground.

Asher let out a gasp as he stood admiring the dark wolf standing him. He never doubted when Alex had told him about her transformation and seeing her for himself brought a different kind of feeling with it. It was glistering under the sunlight as he ran his fingers through her furs, causing her to let out a satisfied whimper before bearing her neck to him in submission. Her wolf had recognized him as Alpha.

He suddenly felt a pulling force between him and her wolf and in no time, he shredded his human skin, transforming into his wolf as well. Asher’s wolf let out a howl into the surrounding atmosphere before it took off running and the other wolf seem to have heed the wordless command as well as she took of after him.
