Chapter 110

Back at the room, Beth felt restless after Eva had left her with Izzy and returned back to her clinic. She sat wondering what Asher and Alex were up to. She hasn’t seen both for the past two hours and she wondered if something had happened.

She hasn’t seen Alex since the incident that happened a few hours ago. She was expecting to see him at least and know how he was faring since he was also attacked as well.

Somehow she has gotten used to his presence. She really wants to say thanks to him for being by her side all through Asher’s absence.

“I hope you’re happy that your man is back.” Izzy broke the silence once she had laid sleeping Sam on his bed. She has been with Beth all through, not wanting to leave anytime soon.

“Stop trying to tease me because it is not going to work.”

“Says a girl who missed Asher’s presence badly all through his absence. I’m happy he is back to take care of you and your son, at least, the stumbling blocks are all gone so you just need to relax Asher’s baby.” Izzy teased again and Beth smacked her over the shoulder.

“I told you to stop calling me that.”

“Why are you acting as if you aren’t happy about Asher’s presence?” Izzy asked and Beth sighed.

“I don’t want him to know how badly I missed him and my feelings for him. Who knows maybe he feels otherwise for me, let him take the step first.” Beth said, wrapping her arms around her chest.

“And one more thing.” She added and Izzy waited impatiently to hear what she had to say.

“I’m still doubting my stay in this place, I am just scared that someone might rise against us in the future and try to kill me again”

Izzy let out a laugh.

“Sometimes, you talk and think like a little child. Asher is back now and I am pretty sure he won’t allow you to get hurt ever again. I mean, did you see what he did earlier?”.

Beth let out a sigh at Izzy’s long speech. Izzy was right anyways, Asher’s presence in the pack is more than enough to keep her safe and aside from that, she really has no home to go to once she leaves the pack.

Izzy hugged her all of a sudden and began patting her back slowly, as if she knew she needed the hug.

“Everything would be fine okay?” Izzy said and Beth nodded her head slowly.

°° At the field °°

Asher felt betrayed and vexed and in as much as he would have loved to play Alex confession as nothing, he still couldn’t help himself.

“You’re so unbelievable Alex. I left Beth and my son in your care only for me to come back and you’re already thinking with your d**k. How could you do this to me?” Asher asked, anger still evident in his features.

“I haven’t done anything behind your back. I’m telling it to you because you had to hear it from me first. I love her and I won’t stop until she is mine, whether you approve of us or not and if you want to have my head because of that then you can go ahead because I will never stop loving her, my heart chooses Beth and no one can ever change that, not even you, Asher” Alex lashed out and Asher couldn’t control himself any further than he already has as his hands reached out and seized him by the neck even faster than he could blink.

Alex made no move to break out of his Alpha hold even with his claws digging painfully into the flesh of his neck as he held him before pulling him closer.

“And if you think I’m letting you have her just because you feel something for her then you are even more stupid than I thought” Asher let out just as darkly into his ears before adding.

“You can have anyone of the single woman in the pack, even Kara if you must but Elizabeth would never be yours” Asher growl before pushing him away.

“I have never felt this way in my life Asher, I have never loved any lady the way I love Beth. You know my personality and so far, I don’t see myself with anyone else except her and if you think she doesn’t feel a thing for me then you are wrong”

Asher interrupted him immediately.

“I do not care what it is you think you feel for her, you will bury your feelings and we can pretend none of it happened.”

Asher began to walk away once again but Alex wasn’t done talking.

“I challenge you for a fight Alpha Asher.”

Asher was shocked as his eyes simply narrowed back at Alex. If he didn’t think he has gone insane before, now he does.

“Fight me, Asher. If you win, you have Beth all to yourself but If I do, you would let her go and if she choose to stay, she becomes mine forever.”

Asher was more than shocked, in fact, Alex is surely crazy if he could go to this extent.

“Even though our friendship bond is strong, the love I have come to feel for Beth is more than the love I have felt for any other person and I am not ready to allow you to take that away.” Alex said boldly.

Asher was broken by his words, he feels sorry for him because deep down in his heart, he knows he is going to get hurt as he was literally begging for it.

“Okay, challenge accepted.” Asher said stubbornly and walked out of the field immediately.

Alex let out a sigh as he stood there staring at his Alpha. He had expected a bit of resistance from him but he didn’t think it would be that bad, if he didn’t know how he truly feels about Beth, he would have concluded he has fallen for her too.

But he was Asher and his judgment was still clouded as far as he could remember. Alex knew, even if he does not end up with her in the future, he would be happy to have been able to fulfill one of her wishes.

Asher made his way back to Beth’s room, his head was occupied with a lot of thoughts most of which was all about Beth.

He felt hurt by Alex’s actions, why does he have to fall for Beth? And not someone else.

He opened the door and met Beth bent over at the baby cot. At his presence, she placed a finger over her own lips before speaking in a shhhhh voice.

“Please don’t make a noise, he is almost sleeping.” Beth whispered to Asher and he smiled before walking in further to stand beside her and truly, the infant was still stirring in is bed.

The latter made some moves but got back to sleep. Asher decided to watch him sleep.

Beth wondered why Asher has a sad look on his face and hopes everything was fine.

She decided to ask him.

“Ash..er, is anything the problem? You look sad about something”

Asher sighed and moved to sit on the bed and she followed him and stood beside him.

Asher wondered if Beth is aware that his Beta is crazily in love with her and has challenge him to a fight.

“Do you love, Alex?” Asher blurted out, his brow raised at her.
