Taken By The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 109
Asher was on his way to see Alex but met him on the way, him too was heading to see his Alpha and give him a proper welcome than the one they had earlier.
Somehow, Asher had come to the conclusion that the pictures Kara sent to him a few hours ago were just planned. With how Alex and Beth behaved, he is pretty sure nothing was going on between them unless they were pretending.
Alex approached his Alpha with a boyish grin on his face and Asher pulled him into a quick shoulder hug chuckling.
“Welcome backing, Alpha” Alex chuckled, hugging him back with the same energy.
“Thank you. Let’s look for some place and talk” Asher said after they pulled away and he turned and began to lead him away towards the field.
They made it to the field and sat down and Alex felt uncomfortable and nervous and Asher couldn’t help but noticed it.
“Is anything the problem?”
“Yes, I am sorry for not being competent. Beth almost got killed earlier and if you hadn’t showed up at the moment you did, I don’t think we would have been having this conversation right now. I just feel so Terri_”
Asher stopped him from speaking further with a wave of his hand.
“Let’s not talk about that, it’s settled. I want you to explain everything that happened in my absence, I needed the full details and I mean everything.”
“Okay, there was nothing much I did. I made sure I took care of the pack and ensured everything was in order. I think there are a lot of things that happened as regards to Beth, a lot of stories to tell.”
The mere mentioned of Beth got his interest and his eyes narrowed.
“Tell me about it. I want to know what happened and how it happened .” Asher said he studied Alex closely to see if there was any excitement in his voice when he talked about Beth, but there was none.
Alex seem normal.
“Elizabeth started behaving strangely a few weeks ago but she lied to me that there was nothing wrong. Sometimes, she screams and acts shocked if I visit her and Sam in their room. I confirmed my instincts when she killed an intruder who tried to harm her and her baby one night.”.
Asher widened his eyes in shock.
“How did he gain entry? Why didn’t you tell me?” Asher rushed his questions and Alex calmed him down before replying.
“Nothing happened to Beth, like I said, Beth killed the intruder. She explained to me that the man came through the window and tried to attack her and Sam. She was quick enough to have taken him unawares and when he heard me coming in, the intruder escaped back through the window. That was Beth’s explanation, never knew she was lying.” Alex paused for his Asher to ask him questions because he could see them in his eyes.
“What lie are you talking about and how did Beth manage to kill the intruder?”
“The next morning, we found his dead body not far from your room with claw wounds. I was confused and tried forcing words out of Beth’s mouth. She confessed she killed the man and told me some strange things that have been happening to her lately. They were all werewolf abilities and symptoms, I was dumbfounded.”
“Does that mean that Beth isn’t human?” Asher asked and Alex nodded positively.
“Elizabeth is a demon wolf, I helped her with her transformation some days ago.”
“You did what? You helped her with her first transformation and you didn’t think to let me know before it happened?” Asher barked and Alex cowered a little but not enough to run away.
“I didn’t mean to keep things from you, Asher but like I told you before, I wasn’t sure about the changes that she was showcasing until that night when she achieved a full transformation”
Asher looked livid as he stood with clenched fist, his mind processing a whole lot especially the topic of Elizabeth being a demon wolf. That was something he didn’t see coming and that’s not all either, his son was also at the fore front of his mind.
“If Elizabeth was a werewolf all along then that means my son is a full demon wolf right?”
“Yes.”
Asher didn’t know how to react to all of that, part of his initial worries was because he was afraid his pack might not accept his son to be one of them when he eventually grows up but now he has nothing to be afraid of.
His son was actually full blooded like he was as well as his ancestors before him.
“You know, she wanted to speak with you over the phone and, I called your line three times that day but you didn’t pick up.” Alex explained and Asher arched a brow.
“Elizabeth wanted to speak with me?
“Yes, She was really worried about you and asked for your well-being daily.” Alex said and Asher paused, all his anger suddenly forgotten, with smile starting to spread across his face.
“Do you think she feels something for me?” Asher asked abruptly and Alex coughed slightly not sure if he heard correctly.
Asher raised a questioning brow at his Beta who seem to be choking on nothing.
“Are you okay?”
“Yea, I’m fine.” He said and Asher nodded mutely.
Another minute passed with both men just staring into the sun that was starting to set up in the near distance before Alex spoke up again.
“So now that elder Marcus is out of the way, what will happen to her?”
Asher gave a careless shrug without saying another word and Alex decided to push the topic even further.
“You’re not saying anything about letting Beth go. Everything is over now so why don’t you allow her to return to where she came from?”
Asher was taken aback by Alex’s boldness as his eyes narrowed back at him.
“What do you mean by that Alex? She has a son for me and I want the boy to grow up among his people and that means she has to stay here, with me”
Asher’s last statement stung Alex so bad, he doesn’t want Beth for Asher neither does he want her living there.
He believes she would have a better life in the human world where she would be happy and live a normal life and at that point, it’s clear to him that Asher would never allow that to happen, at least not willingly but he is determined to do anything to make sure Beth is free again.
“But I thought you only kept her all these months because of the pending execution and the pregnancy and now that it’s no longer an issue, I’m suggesting you let her go, Asher” He said calmly.
“I don’t need your suggestion on this very matter, Alex and beside, as you already know she is not human. She is one of us and that means she will need a pack and from all indication she already has us or she might become a lone wolf or even go rogue and I don’t think that would be best for her”
“Alpha, Beth has gone through a lot and deserves to be happy. Let her decide what she want and from all indications ,She still wants her freedom.” Alex said, trying to convince Asher more
“No one said she wasn’t free and I hope you haven’t put ideas into her head either. Don’t forget she has my son and one day he will grow up and take over from me and the sooner he learn the ways of an Alpha, the better” He expressed before adding,
“And for f**k sake, Alex. Whose side are you on huh? why are you getting all worked up over this. I’m sure Beth would want to stay right here that is safe and take care of her baby, I am going to make up for everything I have done wrong so there’s really no need for her to leave.”
“She needs to leave Alpha, do you know how long Beth has been waiting to go back to her home? Her friends and practically everything we stole her from. She is not happy with us here and I suggest you let her go.” Alex said firmly, his voice a little louder than he intended.
Asher let out a warning growl as he glared back at his Beta.
“Why the f**k are you insisting so damn much, Alex? Even up to the point of even deciding for her? There must be a reason why you persist on letting her go.” Asher growled dangerously , looking at Alex who doesn’t even look intimidated in the slightest anymore.
If anything, he looked like he was about to let the cat out of the bag and Asher could tell it was going to be something he might rebuke him for but still, he waited.
“Fine! You want to know why I’m speaking this way? It’s because I’m in love with Elizabeth and I want her to be happy even if it’s not_.”
“_do not f*****g say it” Asher snarled out in warning, cutting him mid sentence.
For moment, nothing happened but the shock written on Asher’s face was evident. He really thought Alex and buried his feelings for her some time ago which was why he trusted him to watch her while he was away.
Just listening to him talk about his love for her like that makes his b***d boils.
“So Kara was right?” Asher let out eventually and Alex couldn’t understand why he suddenly included Kara In their discussion.
“What do you mean?”
“What happened at the day of her transformation. Did you claim her as mate?” Asher asked darkly.
“ What? Of course I didn’t”
Asher nodded, “that’s good but you will stay the f**k away from that woman or I will have your head and I mean it” Asher warned and then turned to walk away but halted in his next hasty step.
“I’m sorry Alpha but I will have to disobey your order this time. I can’t stay away from her and that’s why I’m letting you know now, If you don’t let her go then I will have no choice but to claim her as mate”
“What the f**k did you just say to me? Are you out of your mind?”
“Yes, I am madly in love with Beth. If I can’t help her get out of here than I might as well claim her as my mate. That way, I can protect her from everyone else, including you”
Asher let out a laugh as he took a step closer to the same man who was almost at the same height as him as they locked eyes with each other.
“I would really love to see you try, Alexander” Asher said coldly, a cruel smile pulling the corner of his lips.
