Chapter 108

“Kill her now” He ordered once again.

Beth clenched her eyes shut and waited for it but it never came as there was a sudden commotion in which two of the men holding her down were suddenly head less., their arms ripped off its socket.

The decapitator was left out either as the large knife he was intending to use on her was now sticking out of his gut before dropping to the floor death.

Everyone had shocked expressions on their faces and wondered who the intruder was.

“Asher!?” Beth called out in a weak voice, not believing that he was really there.

Everyone gasped at the sight of Alpha Asher who stood with bloody claws and snarling dangerously.

He turned to her and nodded positively. He immediately freed her from the stalk and she immediately rushed to collect her baby from Izzy.

Elder Marcus stood up abruptly in shock and tried to run into the crowd but Alpha moved just as swiftly and stood in his way and he threw his hands up in surrender.

“It was you wasn’t it?” He asked darkly and the older man took another step backward.

“Listen to me Asher. That woman lied to you, to all of us. She is not what she claims to be, she is a_”

Elder Marcus paused mid sentence when Asher claws sweep across his throat faster than he could comprehend, killing him instantly, everyone watched in awe including the remaining elders.

Asher spat on his body and kicked it out of his path before striding towards the rest.

“Who among you conspired against me and agreed for her to be killed?”

“it was all Marcus idea. We had nothing to do with it” one of the elders pleaded but the Alpha was not about to have any of their excuses.

“Guards!” Asher screamed and hundreds of them rushed at his call.

“Get the remaining animals and lock them up, they will remain there until everyone of them is investigated and proven to be innocent” Asher ordered referring to the remaining elders and he was obeyed.

No one could even say a word as everything happened within a twinkle of an eye. Asher informed the people that he was back to his territory fully and ordered them to disperse back to their houses.

Kara knowingly blocked Asher’s way as he headed to go and see Beth and his son.

“Get out of my way!” Asher ordered coldly.

“I just want to welcome you and state how happy I am at your return.” Kara said and tried to hug Asher. He pushed her away and she stumbled backward and out of his path and, he then went his way.

“Damn Animal!” Kara cussed under her breathe as she strode off in the opposite direction.

Asher went into his room and met Beth and his son on the bed. He guessed she was still shaken from her earlier ordeal. Just thinking about what had almost happened made his b***d boil even the more.

She held Sam so close to herself as if anyone was going to steal him from her grasp.

Asher walked in further and she looked up at him, her shoulders visibly relaxing as well.

“Asher” His name escaping her lips as he went and sat at the edge of the bed, his hand reaching out to push her hair behind her left ear before speaking up.

“I’m sorry you had to go through all these Elizabeth.” Asher apologized but Beth nodded mutely.

She was still scared as hell and still need time to get it all together, Her head almost got separated from her neck just a moment ago, the memory was still fresh in her mind.

Asher understood how she felt and moved a little bit closer, before lifting her chin up to look at him.

“No one is going to ever hurt you again, I promise you with everything that is dear to me.”

Elizabeth felt overwhelmed as she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck and Asher did same, holding both and his son even closer.

“Thank you, Asher. For saving me. I really thought I was going to die without seeing my baby again but you came back” She cried into his neck.

“it’s okay” He said rubbing at her back gently. Beth cried some more and he let her as he continued to hold her while offering his shoulders for her to cry on.

She sniffed back her tears after a while before wiping off her tears.

“How is our baby, can I carry him?”

“Sure, he is your son.” Beth said and gave him to Asher.

Asher carried him in his arms and smiled brightly at him, baby Sam giggled and Asher felt more happier. Their connection reconnected as he carried him in his arms.

“I’m sorry for leaving you and your mum for a long period of time. Even though I was gone, I never stopped thinking or worrying about you two” Asher said looking up at her and she smiled sheepishly at the Alpha before looking away.

Despite her earlier ordeal, Beth felt relief at his very presence. The way he came back was as if he never left.

Asher on the other hand couldn’t help but notice how quiet she has become. Maybe it was because of his presence?

“How are you doing, sorry, I didn’t ask earlier?”

“I’m fine as you can see.”

Asher nodded.

“I think I need to go check on Alex so that you can put yourself together and rest.” Asher said and was about dropping baby Sam’s who has fallen asleep in his cot but Beth stopped him midway.

“I prefer to carry him in my arms.” She was still not out of the shock fully.

Asher understood and handed the baby to her before walking out the door almost immediately.

Beth sighed heavily, the scene that happened few minutes ago keeps popping into her head and she got even more disturbed.

Like seriously? She would have died few minutes ago.

She was still thinking when the door burst open revealing Izzy and Eva.

They almost jumped on her but they refrained from doing so after seeing that her baby was sleeping in her arms.

“That was a narrow escape Beth, I almost went crazy. I’m so happy you’re fine now.” Izzy said as she gave Beth a side hug.

Eva hugged Beth as well, just as passionately.

“I’m so glad you are okay” Eva cooed happily and Beth sighed in deeply.

Eva and Izzy stayed with Beth for a while and made her feel much better.

Beth was happy at Asher’s return but badly wishes to leave, she feels someone else might be against her stay among the pack and might still try to have her killed.
