Chapter 107

Izzy let out a scream at the ongoing scene before her but she was helpless as she had a crying baby in arm, instead, she rushed after them from behind before turning down the corner to look for Alex.

She finally found him out in the field and went after him. Alex saw her from afar and knew something was wrong.

From the look of things, Elizabeth would never let Izzy come out in the open with her son without tagging along and even worst crying like he was at the moment.

“What the hell is going on? Where is Beth?” Alex asked as he met her half way.

“Beth is in danger, we were in her room before guards barged into her room and took her away. I think they are taking her to the execution ground” Izzy explained breathlessly.

Alex expression went from shocked to totally enraged in a matter of second as he took off running in the same direction Izzy had came out from.

It wasn’t long before he arrived at the ground and apparently, a lot of people had gathered and Beth was being tied to a stalk, there was traces of b***d drilling to her forehead right where she was hit in the head.

At the sight of her b***d, something in him literally snapped as he pushed through the crowd of people and towards the guards binding her limp form to the stalk.

“Get your filthy hands away from her” Alex growled out in warning, his whole being starting to vibrate with anger.

“This isn’t your fight, Alex. You should probably walk away” one of the guard spoke up in warning which only seem to fuel the Beta rage the more.

“I’m your Beta and I’m ordering you in the name of your Alpha to let her go right now” Alex snapped once more.

“We don’t take orders from you and soon there will be no pack for your Alpha to come back to, so if you know what is good for you, you will walk away”

Sound of cracking bones start to fill the air as Alex began his transformation. Most of the people gathered began to get out of the way as they could tell, a battle was about to break out between the Beta and the four guards.

Alex transformation was short lived as he felt a sting at the back of his neck, paralyzing him immediately as he went crashing to the ground.

His vision became blurry as he struggled to focus on the figure he had recognized to be Elder Marcus hovering above him.

“I’m sorry, Alexander, you had your chance and you picked wrongly and I can’t have you ruining this moment for us so”

“Wha_what have..you ..done to me?” He managed to g***n out.

“Just relax, don’t try to fight. You will be fine in no time. Just relax”

Alex tried to speak once more but couldn’t. Every single of his body felt numb even though his mind was raging on at the moment.

Beth on the other hand had stirred awake and immediately her eyes settled on Alex crumbled figure on the floor, she couldn’t help but let out a scream.

“Alex!” She screamed and tried to go to him only to be held back by restrains.

She start to panic, her eyes darting around from face to face in search of Izzy and her son. Tears start to pool at her eyes, thinking the very worst. Izzy was not among the crowd causing her to worry the more, not for her safety but for that of her son.

“This lady here has been the enemy within us, she is not one of us. She has nothing but evil motives for this pack and that’s why we have decided to take law into our own hands before things go beyond repairs.”

There was murmuring from the people about what Elder Marcus said but no one dare spoke up against him.

“Please let me go, I haven’t done anything to deserve this punishment. I’m innocent”

“Yes, she is innocent. Let the girl go” someone shouted from among the crowd.

“No, she deserve to die” another argued.

Elder Marcus hushed everyone and it became silent once again, and he began to speak.

“It have come to our knowledge that this woman is not just the notorious demon hunter who hunted and killed our kind as though they didn’t matter is also one of our kind and has been living under the pretense of being a human to win our sympathy but make no mistake. We know exactly what she is up to and so, instead of putting our beloved families, friends and pack at risk by harboring her in our mist, I hereby declare as chief councilor and on behalf of our Alpha who has neglected his duty to lead and serve us for Elizabeth, daughter of Bradley Lincoln to be beheaded.” Elder Marcus said and the remaining elders supported him including eighty percent of the people still gathered.

“No, please no” She began to struggled to break free, kicking and trashing at the both men trying to move her to the execution stand.

Is this how she was going to die? If only Alex had let her go that night, all these won’t have happened.

What would happen to her baby afterwards, who would take care of him once she is gone?

All these questions and many more ran through Beth’s head and the latter couldn’t stop crying bitterly at this point.

The thought of being beheaded scared the living day out of her. It wasn’t a thought she was about to come in terms with as she continued to trash the more.

Alex on the other hand kept trying to break through with all his strength but couldn’t as tears rolled down his cheeks, deep down within his troubled heart, he knows he had failed himself and his Alpha.

How would he be able to live with himself after this?

Apart from protecting Elizabeth in favor of Asher, he was also protecting Beth because he loves her dearly.

The thought of not being able to do anything to save the situation at hand shredded his heart into several tiny pieces.

Elder Marcus knowingly looked at Alex and made sure their eyes met before he gave him a victorious smile.

Beth who had finally been dragged to the stage looked into the crowd and locked eyes with Kara who stood not very far away, a little smile tugging at the corner of her lips as if to say, ‘see you in hell’ and oh Beth wanted so much at that point to drag her along but seem she would be seeing her instead as she was forced to drop on her knees, both her hands still twisted behind her.

Beth continued to cry bitterly, she wondered where her baby was kept and hoped nothing has happened to him.

She heard him cry and look up to find Izzy and Eva standing close enough for her to see the tears in their eyes.

In their presence, she felt relieved a bit.

Had it been she knew that this would happened, she would have stubbornly escaped. At least, it would have saved her from all the stress and death sentence she was facing at that moment.

The fact that she is even one of them pained her the most.

“Behead her!” Elder Marcus ordered coldly and Beth blinked back the tears that was threatening to fall as she held it back
