°° The next day °°

Beth woke up the next morning with a clearer thought as she crawled out of bed and into the bathroom to ease her bladder. Everything that happened last night still felt like a dream to her.

Not even in her wildest dreams did she imagined she’d be transformed into one of those creatures but of course she was like one of them and last night was prove enough.

She finished from the bathroom and walked into the room to find Izzy who had just walked in as well with her basket of food in hand.

She hurriedly placed it on the table and then turn to walk away but Beth quickly stood in her way.

“Izzy? Are you still mad at me?”

“No” She answered quietly, her eyes barely looking at Beth.

“Come seat with me then” She took her by the hand and began to pull her towards the sofa and Izzy went willingly without protest, her shoulders that was all tense seem to relax a bit. Looks like the younger girl was tired of acting up so much.

They both settled on the cushion and Beth turned her around to face her.

“I know I have apologized before but I will like to apologize again. I’m really sorry Izzy. You and I know how crazy this heart can be sometimes. I hate to think that the reason I lost our friendship is because of what happened with Alex. I truly did wish for him to love you back but I guess his heart just want what he wants even though who he want doesn’t feel the same for him too”

Izzy only stared quietly at the floor but Beth could tell her strong façade was starting to crack.

“You are one of the people around here who have made this place worth staying. You showed me kindness even when I didn’t deserve it and I’m selfish enough not to want to loose it”

“please say something” She pleaded and Izzy finally looked up to face her, only then did Beth saw that she had tears in her eyes.

“I’m sorry for blaming you for his rejection. It was just really foolish of me to think someone like Beta Alex will even consider taking me as a mate. I was just dreaming for what I couldn’t have and I was too deep not to have realize I was selfishly throwing my friendship with you away”

Beth quickly reached over and wiped her tears before it could slip down her cheeks and then wrapped her arms around her shoulders.

“I’m so sorry, Beth. I’m the one who should be asking you to forgive me”

“it’s okay. No need to ask me anything. You and me are okay now and nothing can separate us” Beth cooed, rubbing at her back gently.

Unknown to them, Alex was standing by the door listening to their conversation. It hurt him to see Izzy cry because of him and even more to know once again that Beth doesn’t feel anything for him

Alex couldn’t listen again, so he left immediately. All these while the two conversed, he eavesdropped on their conversation.

Not like he came mainly to listen to their discussion, he actually came to check on Beth. Even though he knew she felt nothing, He still had hope that she would as his love for her keeps growing as the day passes.

Izzy and Beth continued their conversation and both chatted happily.

“Am happy you have gotten back to your old self and I feel more happy to see you in this happy state,” Beth said and Izzy smiled.

“Thanks Elizabeth. I discovered that I had been a fool crying over a guy that cares less about me. He is happy without me. I deserve to be happy and I believe I will find my mate and he will be everything I imagined him to be.”

“That’s the spirit Izzy, I love you,” Beth said and hugged her.

Izzy had been the only friend who helped her at all times. She feels bad for not telling her about her transformation. Alex warning and words were still fresh in her mind.

Speaking of Alex, she couldn’t help but wonder where he has been. He ought to have come around to see her.

She wondered if he was okay and decided to go see Alex. She needed to ask him some questions concerning her transformation as she seem to have about enough to ask.

“Izzy, could you please watch over my baby while I go attend to something real quick?”

“Of course, be quick and don’t get into trouble. And one more thing, be careful.”

“Of course, I will Izzy. I will be back in a jiffy.” Beth said and left the room immediately.

She slide into the hallway as she went in search of Alex with hope that she might find him in his room or where he spend his time mostly.

On getting to the hallway, she ran into Kara.

“Well. Well, well,look who the cat finally dragged out of her hiding. If it isn’t ugly Betty from hell.” Kara mocked and Beth pretended not to have heard as she simply walked past her with the intention of continuing in her way.

“Go ahead and keep walking, I wouldn’t want to be responsible for someone tears right now”

And once again, she wanted to avoid her but on a second thought, seem she has been keeping quiet for too long but at that point she felt like giving her a piece of her mind.

“is it just me or you have actually run out of things to do with your time around here”

Kara was shocked for a split second before she snapped out of it and took a step closer, her eyes narrowing in confusion.

“Are you talking to me?”

She arched a questioning brow, “ Are you deaf now or you are just plain stupid. I mean, your facial expression already got you looking like a lost sheep but not to worry, Let me explain my statement because I can see your dumb brain is unable to break down the statement.”

Kara’s eyes widened in shock as she stood with hands boiled into tight fist. She could there is something different about the girl she was thought was weak and defenseless.

Something was definitely wrong, her facial expression is so cold and her eyes looked a shade darker than before. Even the aura around her is stronger.

“I can see the same cat has got your tongue this time Kara, you better be careful before it swallow you whole!” Beth remarked before walking away.

Kara got back her courage and tried to push her from behind but she moved out of the way swiftly and Kara ended up crashing against the opposite wall.

She look stunned by the turn of event and Beth simply only smiled at her reaction before walking away from her.

More people have start to gather to watch the drama, some were obviously shocked at Beth’s boldness and admired how she avoided Kara attack while others simply whisper among themselves.

Kara’s anger had skyrocket at this point as she went after Beth whose back was still turned to her and walking away.

She tried to grab her from behind but Beth caught her hand before it got to her and twisted around to face her.

“You rather attack me from the back than face me? You are exactly as pathetic as I thought you would be, Kara” Beth asked as she continued to hold onto her wrist tightly.

Kara g*****d in pain, she couldn’t even release her hands from her grip even if she tried. Beth grip was so firm and it was starting to hurt her badly.

“I can see you have been pretending all these while, you’re a hunter like your father and everyone can see it as well” Kara said with a mocking smile.

Before she could reply, someone pushed through the crowd and pulled Beth away from everyone else. From the board shoulder and familiar smell of sweat mixed with the earth, she knew exactly who was holding on to her as she simply relaxed in his grasps.
