Chapter 104

Beth was still sprawled on the floor in her wolfish form. Her legs still feels like jelly underneath her.

“Come on, Beth. Get up” She could hear Alex voice in her head urging her to stand up and she did but wobbled back on the floor at her very first attempt.

“Imagine those limps and paw to be your feet and try again”

After a few tries, she was able to stand on her paw, her left claws shuffling on the ground impatiently.

In that transformed state, she could see in colors and hear sounds from miles away even without trying. She could feel the pull of mother nature aligning her with everything else.

Alex couldn’t help but chuckle when she let out a faint howl into the atmosphere.

With teeth snapping, she advanced towards Alex who had become cautious at this point. Beth was still yet to master her transformation and anything can happen which is why he had carefully held out her son right where her wolf could see him.

Even in her wolf form, Beth had recognized her son and refrained herself from advancing further and instead, she took off running towards the trees in the woods.

For the first time in forever, she felt very free and comfortable as she leap through dry log as fast as her limp could carry her. Nothing could contain the adrenaline surging through every single part of her body at that point.

She continued to forge madly ahead until she got to the pack borders and came to an abrupt pause.

Beth stared at the border and the path that lies ahead and realized she was staring at the road that lead to freedom. At that moment, every single voice in her head had urge her to make a run for it. To actually take that bold step and not to look back but then she thought of her baby came crashing it all to the floor like the ocean current.

She remembered she had left someone behind and just like she had run to that point, she reversed immediately. She could hear Alex voice that was filled with worries screaming her name so loudly that she didn’t realized she had blocked him out of her head earlier after she ran away.

Alex stood at the same spot with her baby in arm and pacing with clenched jaw. He was afraid this was going to happen but he thought he could trust her to return for the sake of her son.

It’s been five minutes since she took off and if she doesn’t return before the next minute, he will have no choice but to go after her before she crosses the border and encounter rogues.

As newly transformed, her chances of survival against them was zero and Asher will definitely have his head if he found out what he happened.

Alex was still pacing when she saw her emerging from the wood and into the open and She slowly transformed back into her human form and was naked on the floor.

She felt so embarrassed as she had her arms wrapped around herself.

Alex immediately gave her one of the shirt from her back pack and she quickly threw it on. Once she was done, she took her baby from his grasp.

“How do you feel?”

“I don’t know, I just realized my whole life has been one very gigantic lie” Beth said quietly clenching her baby tightly into her chest some more.

“True but I think your life is just about to begin and if you let me, I will teach you to become the best version of what you are now if only you promise to keep this a secret?”

“I don’t know yet. All of this just seem like a dream and I’m going to wake up from all of it” Beth replied, peering up at him and he simply nodded.

Alex understands she needs to be alone for some time and offers to take her back to her room.

They returned back to the camp and Alex followed Beth till she got to her room,

“I need you to relax and try not to think about everything that happened tonight. Everything is under control okay? I will see you in the morning Goodnight.” Alex assured her kissed baby Sam on his forehead and waited for Beth to go in.

“Am sorry if I stressed you tonight.” Alex apologized before she could slipped into her room completely after he noticed how quiet Beth was and came to the conclusion that she was probably angry with him for what he said earlier.

“You’re so funny Alex. I never complained so, therefore, I am not angry. You should be the one to complain about being stressed. Thanks for helping me tonight” Beth smiled and was about to close the door when Alex held her arms midway, halting her as well.

“Do not tell anyone about this, it is still our little secret,” Alex said and Beth nodded positively before going in and then locking her door afterward.

She placed baby Sam slowly in his cot to avoid waking him up and after that, she slipped into the bathroom for a quick shower.

She needed to get rid of the dirt on her skin as she scrub through her flesh over and over again with so many thoughts flooding into her head.

She felt more broken than before and realized her life had been a sham all along.

Turns out she was a werewolf just like the people she has been hating on for keeping her against her will. She was part of the people who hurt, tortured, held her captive, and is even trying to kill her, how painful.

She could already imagine Asher’s face when he finds she wasn’t exactly harmless like she had been.

“I just have a crooked lifestyle and I wonder when it’s going to be straight,” Beth said to herself as she scrub even harder.

Beth couldn’t help but think back to how her father treated her right after her mother had passed. Now she could understand it all.

He knew exactly what she was hence his reason for always keeping his distance from her. She was what he hated with passion and her naïve little mind had always wondered if he was her biological father.

Everything is clear now, she now knows the reason for her father’s hatred. He simply knew the truth about her real identity but kept it all to himself. He chose to maltreat her instead like a worthless rag.

Beth burn her eyes and threaten to fall but she wouldn’t allow it slip. She already had her mind made up, not a single tears would be shared for his sake.

If he wasn’t death to her before then he was at that point and if ever they meet again, she’d make sure to let him know exactly how much she loathed him for being a despicable human and a father.

She quietly rinsed off from the bathroom and wrapped herself in a single towel and walked into the bedroom and went in search of something to wear.

Her hands found the first piece of short and shrugged them on, paired with another shirt that was definitely not hers because it has Asher’s scent all over it before crawling into the bed.

Her Beth wandered off to everything Alex said as they came back from the woods.

He told her that she might be a born omega, which is a half-demon wolf. Her b***d became purer when Asher fed her with his b***d which sort of triggered her transformation in the first place.

She could still become an alpha female if she was given the chance. In other word, if Asher was to make her his chosen mate.

The thought of becoming Asher’s mate sounded more like walking through hot coal. Heck, it’s close to impossible.

Will he hate her, accept her as part of his pack or probably send her away?

Well, the fort’s not a problem to her since it had always been her wish to leave the pack but that that she has come to the realization that she was one of them, staying won’t such a bad idea, if not for her, she would like her son to grow up with a father figure at least.

“Izzy would be so shocked if she hears of this.” Beth thought and suddenly remembered Alex’s warnings.

She sighed and shut her eyes tightly. Another minute rolled by before she snapped her eyes open again and looked at her baby’s cot intently.

“You are all I have got.”

She had this urge to have her baby beside her so she stood up and carried Sam from his cot and placed him gently on her bed beside where she would sleep. She then placed a pillow on the other side of baby Sam just in case he woke up and rolled off the bed.

She began staring at him as the cute creature slept soundly.

“I love you my baby and I would do everything in my power to make sure you’re always fine. I would always be there to guide and protect you from any harm” Beth said almost in whispers and kissed both his cheeks.

“So if I am a born omega, there is no way Sam would be born the same too. He is probably full blooded as well and maybe someday, he’s grow up to be Alpha just like his father”

Beth took one of his fingers and caressed it gently with smile on her face before resting beside him as well.

It wasn’t long before she fell asleep as well.
