Chapter 1531 No Further Dealings in This Lifetime

As this notion took hold, Julian began to tally the accounts in his mind.

When he conversed with Athena, Lauries Mansion had to be reclaimed!

Amidst his musings, a cold voice with a hint of derision reached his ears from behind.

"After all these years here, you're now too scared to even step inside. What's got Mr. Julian Crawford shaking in his boots?"

Julian pivoted to meet Athena's icy gaze.

"Scared?" Julian scoffed, "Indeed. I've heard about your tactics, and I wouldn't want to recklessly step in and get stuck forever."

"Familiar with my tactics and yet bold enough to resort to using my daughter as leverage?"

Athena strolled unhurriedly toward Julian, her tone far from pleasant.

Julian always cared about appearances. Faced with Athena's direct confrontation, the facade of his smile gradually cracked, and his demeanor shifted. "Fine, I agreed to meet with you, not for a verbal brawl." He cast a glance over Athena's shoulder.

Besides the bodyguards, no one else was in sight.

"Stop looking around. Byron isn't here," Athena stated firmly, moving toward the entrance of Lauries Mansion.

Julian clenched his fists tightly, withdrawing his wandering gaze, and trailed after Athena.

While Lauries Mansion had long been vacant, Lola's staff still came for regular maintenance. The grand house had undergone minimal change, except for an intensified chill.

Athena settled onto the sofa, legs crossed, body leaning forward, her gaze emanating an imposing air as she fixed her eyes on Julian. "Speak up. What's your plan?"

"I've been a thorn in your side, and I'm not keen on much interaction with you. I simply want to reclaim what rightfully belongs to me!" Julian asserted without hesitation.

"Belongs to you?" Athena observed Julian calmly. "During your previous disruptions, Byron's life was hanging by a thread. I didn't want to argue then. But now that he's back safe, I'm clarifying things. At the outset of our marriage, Byron instructed Alivia's attorney to draft a will, leaving none of his wealth or assets for you. Plus, now that he's back, why do you still think anything here is yours?"

"Of course there is!" Julian raised his voice. "When my father died, he left me a share too! Later, at my mother's urging, I transferred that share to help Byron secure control of Crawford Group. Now, since Byron wants to sever ties with me over a woman, it's only fair I reclaim that part!"

"If Byron owes you, I'm willing to provide a legal team to help you rightfully retrieve what's yours through proper means." Athena countered directly.

During the early days of Crawford Group dispute, Athena wasn't by Byron's side. When she arrived, Byron already had the upper hand, and most of the power rested with him.

The intricacies of the equity transfer eluded Athena, yet with Julian's antics, Athena had an inkling.

Stirring up news, using intimidation tactics at Mia's school gate...

She suspected Julian was merely blustering.

Knowing Byron, even when dealing with Alivia, he always kept finances separate, never at a loss.

Especially with a father he wasn't close to, Byron would've been even more cautious.

"Think twice about using legal tactics on me!" Julian's expression darkened. "This is my due. If you don't grant me shares, then compensate me in cash. It's not much for you. I'll take the money and disappear. From now on, we'll have no further dealings in this lifetime!"
