Chapter 1530 Securing More Assets

Julian's expression was as dark as a storm cloud.

Thankfully, the sun was high up in the sky, providing some light to the situation.

What really counted was securing more assets for his soon-to-be-born child.

"Alright." Julian reluctantly gave in.

He ended the call with Jacob.

Around the same time, Julian had arrived home.

As he stepped in, the place felt empty.

Later in the afternoon, when he contacted his girlfriend, she shared. "Don't let Athena find out that I'm expecting a child. I'm retreating to our overseas residence for a while. Don't reach out until things are sorted. Just come back once it's all settled, and we can be a family again!"

His girlfriend had always been thoughtful.

Julian had no reason to question her intentions.

He thought her plan was considerate and agreed without hesitation.

He reclined on the sofa, wrestling with a sense of solitude.

He contemplated inviting a woman over for company.

But then he remembered that his girlfriend had granted him the opportunity to fulfill his dream of becoming a father.

He swiftly brushed aside those unhelpful thoughts, sinking into the warmth his girlfriend had brought him, eagerly anticipating a future life as a family of three.

The following day, Athena used the excuse of heading to the company and left early in the morning.

It had been a while since Byron had the chance to take the kids to school by himself.

"Daddy, there's a school celebration in a few days, and all the kids in my school are doing a big choir performance. Will you come to watch?" With Athena not around, Mia was more outspoken. She didn't even want to sit in a booster seat. Instead, she squeezed in beside her dad.

"Absolutely," Byron readily agreed, then turned to Aiden. "Aiden, does your school have similar events?"

"Our school doesn't usually take part in these things," Aiden responded. "But I'll make sure to come see Mia's performance on her school celebration day." Byron nodded.

Over the past few days, he had distinctly noticed the contrast between Mia and Aiden.

While Mia was a kid who craved emotional connection, Aiden was quite the opposite.

He was a more reserved child.

Sometimes, Byron worried that he might be focusing too much on Mia's needs, inadvertently neglecting Aiden's feelings.

After dropping off both kids, Byron checked the time and turned to Mike.

"Drive me to find her."

Mike blinked in surprise. "Mrs. Crawford is at the company..."

"I'm aware she's not here. Drive me to find her." Byron's tone turned crisp, and his authority evident even without anger.

"Mr. Crawford, this puts me in quite a tough spot..." Mike mumbled, "What if Mrs. Crawford gets upset because of this..." Before he could finish his sentence, he met Byron's gaze.

Mike hesitated.

He felt that everything about the Crawford family should be handled by Byron.

Why did Athena need to deal with those scumbags?

Mike continued, "Alright, Mr. Crawford, I'll do it."

He promptly turned the car around, heading towards Lauries Mansion.

Inside Lauries Mansion, an impatient Julian arrived about ten minutes early.

He paced through the garden, now overgrown and unkempt, hesitating to step into the house alone.

As he gazed at the garden that once bore careful maintenance, now in such disarray, he felt a twinge of sentiment.

Then he cast a look at the luxurious house.

If he had known he was about to become a father once more, he wouldn't have relinquished his claim to a portion of Lola's assets. This mansion could have fetched quite a fortune!
