Chapter 1314 Heather Loves You the Most

Before Martin could finish speaking, Byron rushed in.

Even though it was cold outside, there was so much blood that Byron immediately smelled the nauseating stench as he entered.

He stared stiffly at the figure that looked so much like Athena that he almost sat in shock.

"Mr. Crawford!" Martin was frantic.

Then Byron said, "It's not her..."

Martin paused, quickly had the female corpse put down, and pulled back the hair covering her face. He, too, sighed in relief.

Although her face was severely damaged, a prosthetic showed at her nose. Athena hadn't had any plastic surgery, so she wouldn't have had a prosthetic.

However, ...

This face looked familiar.

"Isn't this Miss Holland?" someone shouted.

Martin suddenly remembered.

Wasn't this the face of the new stand-in who had been brought by Byron and Athena when they were angry at each other?

"Playing games with me, huh!" Byron was furious. "Keep searching!"

The group was about to leave.

"What was that sound?" Martin noticed something.

Soon, several plumes of white smoke sprayed out from the corners of the room.

"Watch out, Mr. Crawford! Cover your nose and mouth!" Martin lunged at Byron.

But under the high concentration of chemicals, nobody could withstand it.

Martin tried to protect Byron and get out quickly. But when they reached the front door, it wouldn't open.

A few seconds later, both of them passed out at the door.

When Byron woke up again, he heard the sound of waves.

His eyelids felt heavy, and his throat was painful from inhaling too much smoke.

"Awake?" A gentle voice, devoid of any emotion, sounded from across Byron.

Byron looked at him coldly.

This face wasn't unfamiliar.

"Robert," Byron said.

"Mr. Crawford, I've heard so much about you, and today we finally meet." Robert looked at Byron. "You're very handsome. No wonder Heather fell for you at first sight. Every time she saw me, she always praised you so much."

Byron glanced at his hands.

Robert had used a chain to lock his hands to a pillar as if he was afraid Byron might escape.

There were four locks on the chain.

"Don't bother looking. You can't escape." Robert glanced outside through the floor-to-ceiling window. "The sunset is beautiful today. Heather loves beautiful sunsets. At this wonderful moment, I'll send you to her side. She'll be thrilled."

Byron looked at Robert with disgust. "You love her so much, yet you're sending another man to her side. How noble of you."

"The one she loves, after all, is you. What can I do?" Robert wasn't angered by Byron's mockery. "Don't worry. Your wife will be fine. My people will safely take her back after you and your children are dead." "Robert! How dare you touch my children! Even if I died as a ghost, I will tear Heather apart and not let her rest in peace!"

Byron probably knew that he was going to die.

So he didn't threaten to do anything to Robert. Instead, he directly threatened a ghost against a ghost.

Robert's calm face changed rapidly.

"Byron, why do you have to be so cruel to her? She is the one in this world who loves you the most!" Robert shouted passionately, "Your wife was your stand-in because of money. When she knew she had no chance of rising to the top, she immediately chose to abandon you and hooked up with Gabe of Chambers Jewelry. Later, regardless of your despair and sadness, she faked her death and ran away. Heather would never let you suffer like this. Heather would die with you together. But your wife definitely wouldn't! She would choose a life that benefits her more!"
