Chapter 1313 Loving Each Other

After the phone call went through, it was immediately answered, "Who is this?"

It was Mike's voice, sounding very anxious.

"It's me. Where's Byron?" Athena's voice was shaking badly.

"Chelsea! Are you okay? Where are you? I'll send someone to get you now!" Mike sounded relieved to hear from her.

"Where's Byron?" Athena sounded more impatient than she'd ever been.

"Mr. Crawford tracked your phone signal and went to the last location it appeared. He left two hours ago with some people. Didn't you run into him?" Mike sounded confused.

Athena felt as if her blood had frozen.

"What about Aiden and Mia?" she asked.

"Miss Mia Newton and Mr. Aiden Newton are fine, don't worry," Mike reassured her.

"One of the two assassins is after Aiden and Mia. Mike, you have to protect them." Athena's voice broke. "No matter what rumors you hear about me and Byron, don't withdraw any of Lakin's security. If you see anyone suspicious, it's better to have wrong kills than to let one person go. Do you understand?"

"Yes!" Mike's reply was firm. "Where are you? I'll send someone to pick you up."

"No need. Send me the address that you found, the one where Byron went to look for me."

"Chelsea..." Mike seemed to sense something was wrong.

"Just send it to me." Athena was resolute.

Mike complied, and moments later, Athena felt her phone vibrate twice.

Athena lowered her eyes and held her phone tightly. "Mike, if I don't come back tonight, take care of Aiden and Mia. And also Rose."

Before Mike could respond, Athena hung up the phone.

She looked up and met the eyes of Annie, who had just gotten out of the car.

"Are you going to find Byron?" Annie asked, startled.

"Sir, may I borrow your phone? Someone will bring you a new one later." After speaking, Athena made sure that Hensley had been taken off the car. She got in, turned around without hesitation, and drove off into the night.

Annie stood there in a daze.

She thought Athena would choose her children over Byron, who was facing certain death.

Did she love him that much?

No...

Byron must have already fallen into Robert's trap.

"These two..." Annie stood there, laughing in disbelief.

But soon, she couldn't laugh anymore.

If she had known earlier that Athena was more than just a canary that Byron kept... If she had known that Byron and Athena loved each other...

Even though she loved Heather dearly, she wouldn't have sent her to be with Byron.

Two hours ago, Byron had finally located the last place where Athena's phone signal appeared.

He immediately went there with some people.

When they got there, they only found an old, run-down house.

"Mr. Crawford, be careful. I'll have someone check for explosives first," someone warned him.

Byron was frantic.

He quickly left the room and ran to Byron. He said with difficulty, "Mr. Crawford... there's... there's a woman's body inside..."
