Chapter 1638:

“Okay, I’ll be waiting.” Conor smiled.
“You!” Hallie was speechless.
With Jarrod having made his position clear, Conor refused to entertain Hallie's nonsense any longer. He ordered the bodyguards: "Take her away and make sure she doesn't bother Mr. Schultz again."
Hallie, outrageous, clung to the door, swearing, refusing to leave.
At that moment someone appeared, verified Hallie's identity and declared that she was being taken away.
The officers showed their badges, causing Hallie to panic. “Why are they stopping me? “I haven’t done anything wrong.”
An officer clarified: "In relation to the recent assault case, the suspect claimed that she acted on your orders to throw sulfuric acid, which you allegedly purchased."
Hallie was stunned. She couldn't understand that her own daughter would implicate her to avoid being blamed. Worse still, she couldn't defend herself since she had bought the sulfuric acid.
“It wasn't… You're wrong…” Hallie protested vehemently, but they still took her in for questioning.
Conor informed Jarrod of the incident, finding the situation quite dramatic. This mother-daughter duo was truly despicable, viciously attacking each other out of self-protection. What kind of family did such individuals come from?
Jarrod looked down and spoke sternly, “Sever all ties with them.”
Individuals of such caliber were unworthy of any association with the esteemed Schultz family.
In the past, Jarrod's last shred of compassion forced him to maintain a facade of familial connection.
But the stark reality of his loneliness now engulfed him. Even those he thought genuinely cared for him, like Hallie and Doreen, were revealed to be opportunists.
Conor proceeded to inform Jarrod of the latest developments regarding Vicki, stating: "It seems that the Hampton family is planning to intervene on Vicki's behalf. At first they seemed resigned, but Vicki's insistence on seeing Wayne changed their attitude.
After sending a message through his lawyer, Wayne has worked hard to secure his release.
With Wayne's numerous illegitimate offspring, he could have easily given up on Vicki, who was of little importance to him.
However, the fervent public outcry left Lowe beyond redemption. Not even the influential connections of the Hampton family could sway public opinion.
This order had left Wayne emotionally drained, as the simultaneous loss of his two most promising heirs would undoubtedly crush anyone's spirit.
Vicki had some influence over Wayne, forcing him to invest resources and efforts into her release.
Conor aired his guess, stating, "Miss Hampton seems quite adept at influencing her father's decisions."
Jarrod agreed with Conor's analysis, harboring similar suspicions.
Contemplating Vicki's possible release, Jarrod realized that Nicole would undoubtedly become Vicki's prime target.
Rivalry between women could be deeply disturbing.
Jarrod instructed Conor: “Keep a close eye on the Hamptons’ activities. If Vicki is released, be sure to keep a constant eye on her. “Avoid any proximity to Nicole.”
