Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1682
“Why? Is there something else I need to bring?” she asked.
The assistant hurriedly shook his head.
It wasn’t part of his job to tell what to bring.
She didn’t have to tell him the reason she didn’t bring clothes nor did he need to know.
“Nothing.
Shall we get going now?”
“Yeah.”
After giving Lila a few reminders, Rachel walked out of the house and followed the assistant into a Maybach parked in her front yard.
The car slowly made its way out of the drive way and into the main road.
Soon, the establishments on the side of the road were replaced with tall, lively trees as the car headed out of the bustling downtown and into the rural area.
Because she didn’t have enough sleep the previous night and was feeling under the weather, Rachel fell fast asleep in the back seat.
After about an hour, she woke up and peered out of the car window.
The trees along the sidewalk and the scarcity of cars in the road told her they were no Longer in the city center, but in the path to the rural areas in town.
“Where are we going?” Rachel asked, now fully awake.
“Aren’t we going to Gibson Mansion?”
Clearly, they were not headed to the Gibson Mansion.
“Oh, you’re awake, Miss Bennet.” Alberto’s assistant glanced at her.
“We’re not going to the Gibson Mansion.”
Rachel’s furrowed brows deepened.
“Mr.
Gibson has been under acupuncture treatment recently, so he needs to stay in a much quieter place,” the assistant proceeded to explain.
“He rented a villa in the rural area near the project office, so it’s more convenient.”
The rural area?
Rachel took out her phone and opened the Map app to check their current location.
They were indeed heading towards the rural area, almost in the border of the neighbor city.
“No one told me about it beforehand.” It was only then that Rachel realized the confused look the assistant had earlier upon seeing her carry-on bag.
It turned out she needed more than her work essentials because she wouldn’t be away for a day but a few weeks.
“What? I thought you already knew.” The assistant mirrored the surprise and confusion on her face.
“Mr.
Gibson has informed Mr.
Sullivan about this.”
It seemed that Odin had sold her to Alberto.
