Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1683
Rachel’s eyes darkened.
The assistant offered after a moment of hesitation, “Don’t worry, Miss Bennet.
If you need anything, you can tell us, and we’ll buy it for you.
What clothing brands do you prefer? What body essentials?
Please send us the details, and we’ll get things ready for you.”
Rachel eventually withdrew her sharp gaze.
However, the anger still lingered.
She didn’t know if she was upset because Odin had set her up or because she hadn’t been cautious enough to have fallen prey to his scheme.
Studying her expression, the assistant knew better than to say a word again.
Silence filled the rest of the ride.
After about twenty minutes, they finally arrived at the place.
As soon as the driver stopped at the front yard, the assistant climbed out of the car first and circled to the back of the car to open the trunk and retrieve Rachel’s carry-on bag.
Rachel came out next.
The moment she raised her head, she saw Alberto in his wheelchair under a tree in the front yard with his back to them.
On the shoulders of his clothes was a thin layer of snow, suggesting he had been sitting there for quite a while.
Initially, Rachel had the urge to wipe the snow off Alberto’s shoulders.
However, the thought just flashed through her mind, quickly forgetting about it the next second.
“Miss Bennet is here, Mr.
Gibson.” The assistant spoke to Alberto in a respectful voice.
Hearing his voice, Alberto, who was sitting with his back facing them, slowly operated his wheelchair to turn around.
He was wearing a mask, but his deep gaze instantly fell on Rachel.
“Good morning, Mr.
Gibson,” Rachel greeted lightly.
Obviously, she could see his gaze, and so she withdrew her eyes and calmed herself down.
“Morning.” Alberto looked somewhat indifferent, and no one could figure out what he was thinking or feeling right now.
Rachel’s eyes wandered around and noticed that compared to the Gibson Mansion, this villa was quite smaller but peaceful and comfy.
It was as if it was very suitable for seclusion.
The air in the area was fresh and soothing.
In fact, she would easily fall in love with this place if she was on vacation.
Unfortunately, she was there, spending the holiday for work.
Rachel looked at Alberto, her eyes wary and a bit grim.
Subconsciously, she wondered if he already knew about Odin’s real intention.
After all, she was very much surprised that Alberto had openly requested her to join the project.
But before she could figure out if her hunch was right, Alberto operated his wheelchair and went to the house.
Looking at Rachel, the assistant suggested, “Miss Bennet, shall we go in too? It’s freezing here outside.”
The villa was located in a valley, so the outdoor temperature was considerably lower compared to downtown.
Earlier, when Rachel got out of the car, she didn’t feel the difference yet.
But right after the assistant pointed it out, she indeed felt chilly.
Then, she nodded in agreement, quietly following them into the house.
