The Headmaster Alpha's Mate -
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 92
Chloe woke in the secure embrace of Zander. They had spent the night making love and reconnecting on a deeper level, breaking down the emotional barrier that had existed between them through the past weeks of emotional torment. Something inside Chloe felt whole again, and she finally felt her mind at peace. Although she was still grieving her loss of her parents and their precious pup, she felt like the long tunnel of darkness she had been existing in had finally had a light at the end.
Zander awoke with a soft smile on his lips, his fingers gently tracing the outline of Chloe’s body. This perfect woman had consented to be his wife, something he did not know he wanted until they went through what could only be described as the fires of hell. He needed the world, not just the werewolf world, to know that they belonged to each other, and would forever be united.
“Come on Zander, hurry up, I need to see Sheba, she has been telling me some very nice things she wants me to do for her, all night, and well, just hurry up and let us shift!” Caesar began to impatiently nag at Zander.
“Hey, Caesar is getting impatient, he wants to run and play a little with Sheba.” Zander whispered.
“Hum, yeah, Sheba has been bugging me about it being ‘Her Turn’ since last night.” Chloe giggled.
“Our horny wolves., they are as bad as each other.” Zander chuckled with Chloe.
“Yes, a perfect match. Come on, let’s go for a run around the island, before we make breakfast. Then we can get ready to have the meeting with the Alpha Martin and Luna Patricia from the Shetland Pack.” Chloe grinned whilst pulling off the blankets from the bed.
Zander chuckled, and stepped out of bed. Holding onto Chloe’s hand, the pair of them walked out of the small cottage just beyond the doorway, then instantly shifted.
Sheba shook her light purple fur. The silver strands glistened in the morning sunlight. Zander looked at her, she really was the most beautiful wolf he had ever seen.
“You are a lucky wolf, Caesar.” Zander praised the wolf counterpart of his mate.
“Oh, I know, now, f**k off human, and let me have my time with my mate!” Caesar growled in response, desperate to go play with Sheba.
Sheba playfully snapped at the purple tip on Caesar’s tail, and then ran around the cliff edge, as the large black alpha wolf gave chase the morning breeze that was increasing in strength blowing threw their fur.
“Zander, Caesar looks like he has had an electric shock!” Chloe giggled.
“You are one to talk, so does Sheba, and with the silver in her fur, she also looks like she has been struck by lightning.” Zander chuckled.
“Oi, humans, get lost and leave us alone!” Caesar growled out. They played their game of tag for around half an hour before heading to the old church ruins, then hiding behind the remaining stone structure they began to lick each others snout.
“Time to put my block down.” Chloe laughed, building up the wall instantly, as Zander and her discussed what they were going to eat for breakfast, allowing their wolves to become reacquainted with each other and have their own fun.
As Chloe and Zander shifted back, as they walked into the cottage, the gusts of wind swirled around them ,building in its intensity.
“I seriously do not get you, Chloe, or Zander, although he is let off because of his sheer sexiness. But honestly, how can you talk about bacon and mushroom sandwiches being better than bacon and egg sandwiches, when Caesar and I are enjoying mindblowing s*x with fireworks going off between us?” Sheba complained to Chloe.
“Sheba, I have told you on numerous occasions now, that as much as I am okay with you two going at it like you are rabbits rather than wolves, I really do not want to share a consciousness with you when it is happening.” Chloe shook her head.
Zander began to chuckle, knowing only too well that Sheba was complaining to Chloe about the fact she was not fully present in the moment when she was with Caesar. It was the same conversation after every shift together.
They headed to the shower, and quickly got freshened up before going to meet with the other Alpha’s at the port. As they headed out of the cottage, the breeze caught Chloe’s hair and it blew into the air before falling down onto her face with a small shiver. She pulled her jacket closer to her for protection against the bitter sting of the northern wind. Zander turned to her with a smile on his face.
“You look so cute with your hair blowing all over like that.” He smiled.
“Seriously, you could freeze the balls off a brass monkey here, and we are supposed to run hotter than humans.” Chloe giggled.
Zander tilted his head back as he let out a loud laugh, then with eyes shining with pride, he offered another smile to his mate.
“It is so good to have my mate back,” he complimented her.
“It is kind of nice to be back. However, I am now feeling guilty about being happy. I know that is crazy, but that is where I am at right now.”
“I get that, but it is good to be happy, Chloe, and you made me the happiest man alive by agreeing to complete our union both in human and werewolf traditions.” Zander smiled.
Chloe offered a soft smile, as Zander wrapped his arm around her shoulder, holding her tight to him, to protect her from the wind.
As the wind picked up its furious gusts, leaves and debris began to fly through the air. Even Zander found it increasingly difficult to walk against the strong gusts that swirled around them, the white spray of the waves crashing on the rocks beneath became less of the peaceful lapping of the water, but more of an angry lover scorned by the land it sought to destroy in revenge. As they walked, the wind became a full storm lashing against their skin, and pulling up anything it could whilst it began to blow at a deviating speed around the island. Hunched over against the storm, they walked down to the harbour. Hamish was standing on the pier, a gust of wind blowing up the pleats of his kilt as even the natives on this island bristled against the cold..
“Aye, we have a wee problem!” Hamish shouted against the howling gusts that were increasing in intensity with each passing minute.
“What is happening?” Chloe asked.
“There is a wee storm approaching, this is just the beginning of it. I din’ne think the ferry will make the crossing today. It’s gon’a be a big one, gusts of 100 miles per hour.” Hamish informed them.
“Oh, how long do you think it will last?” Chloe asked.
“According to the weather app, the red warning lasts till tomorrow afternoon, then we go to amber warning, I think we need to batten down the hatches, I can’ne see the ferry comming t’day, or tomorrow.” Hamish sighed.
“Okay, well, we will contact our pack, and let them know we will be here longer than expected.” Zander nodded, they had travelled a long way to come to this meeting, and although the packs were small, having their backing was a game changer in regards to soliciting the support of the other undecided packs around the country.
Turning away from the small habour pier, Hamish’s eyes glazed over, and he turned to look at Zander and Chloe.
“I am going to have to get to the community Centre, old Morag, the tree she would’ne let us cut down in her garden has blown over, and the branches are through her window.” Hamish shrugged.
“Yeah, we will come with you.”
“Aye, I appreciate that. When it is a storm like this one, there is often a lot of damage, and it is all hands on deck, so to speak.” Hamish stated, his tone matter of fact, but Chloe did not miss the slight furrow of his brow indicating that the Alpha was concerned about the safety of his pack.
“What about the fishing boats?” Chloe suddenly asked. After all, Hamish had told them that most of the island and pack income came from the fishermen of the pack.
“Aye, they returned last night, a’fore they normally would, thankfully for this storm, all are safe.”
Chloe nodded her head in understanding. After all, it was clear that when the winds struck or the snow fell, the pack were pretty isolated, and as much as they loved their way of life, not having rogues attack you was not the only danger. Living like this had its own set of dangerous situations that could devastate pack life, just in a different way than she was now accustomed to.
Releif flooded through her, and she felt almost like this pack was her own, she loved and cared for them as if she were their Luna, and somehow wanted to shoulder the responsibility of helping look after each member during this time.
“If ya din’ne mind, Alpha and Luna Princess, I will drop ye both off at the cottage. I really need to start up the soup kitchen, ready to feed the pack should the electricity go off. We only have one generator, and that powers the community centre.” Hamish smiled.
“Hamish, look, tell me to back off if you like, but how about I come over and sort out the cooking for you? I am sure Zander will come with you and Douglas, along with Lewis, to do any emergency repairs, or rescues of the pack members.”
As Chloe spoke, Zander nodded, he felt a responsibility towards the pack, just like his little Luna, almost as if he were their Alpha, and he recognized that Caesar and Sheba had accepted this pack as part of the alliance, making them the Ultima wolves over the pack. They had more wolves to care for than just the Creseant Moon pack, or the Siver Cresent and Silverback packs, they also had taken on the responsibility of helping the Ronsay pack, and helping make their island life a little better when times were at their toughest.
“Yes, Alpha, put us to work, we want to help.” Zander smiled.
“Thank you Alpha and Luna Princess.” Hamish smiled gratefully. He wanted help, but did not dare request it from the future king and queen. This offer alone re-enforced his belief that they had made the correct decision when pleading their elegance to Zander and Chloe.
“Alpha Hamish, I am just Chloe to my friends, and I do believe you are fast becoming one of my closest friends.” Chloe smiled.
“Yes, Alpha Hamish, and I am just Zander, and today we are under your command, so tell us what we can do to help.” Zander smiled.
Just as they finished, talking about the various duties they all needed to complete to help the pack, three large boulders from the ruins of the church broke free, and the wind circling around them, lifting the stones like they weighed nothing, then throwing them like a weapon towards the three friends, hurtling at a speed of 100 mph. A loud piecing scream filled the air, as the boulders reached the ground.
