The Headmaster Alpha's Mate -
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 133
Chloe looked out of her bedroom window, the daffodils were blooming, the purple and white crocuses peaking through the long grass at the edge of the lawned area that once had been a sea of b***d on muddy earth covered in snow. She let out a long breath, as she contemplated on the last twelve weeks. The fighting part of their war was over, but the battle to set out a fair way for the political arena to operate had begun. Zander, Robin, Josh, along with Chloe, Nicki and Lacey had all sat together, working tirelessly on getting the political changes they desperately wanted to implement on paper, they had each come up with ideas, and four days after the war was won, they agreed upon a comprehensive manifesto, which contained their pledges to the wolves in what they agreed was fair for everyone.
They had given every single wolf or human mate the ability to vote in the referendum. Each wolf had had two choices, to elect a new council who are accountable to nobody, or to vote for them. Part of the manifesto was that should they be accepted as King and Queen of the werewolves, there would still be an eldership to replace the council, made up from a member from each of the packs, all voted for by the pack they originated from. They would discuss and vote for any judicial changes, or new laws, effectively holding Zander and Chloe accountable. Also, if they wanted to present some changes, they could, but Zander and Chloe had to approve them before they could be implemented. They hoped this would help stop those who sort power for the wrong reasons and cause another war down the line. The second part of that manifesto was to abolish slavery and the maltreatment of Omega wolves, and outlaw forced rejection of mates because of rank or species. All they could do now was wait and see what the results of this vote would be.
“Polling starts at 6 am, need to go cast our votes.” Zander smiled, wrapping his arms around Chloe’s waist.
“Yes, we do. I am thinking, I don’t like that King Zander and Queen Chloe, maybe I will vote for another corrupt council.” Chloe giggled.
Zander threw his head back and laughed, pulling her closer to his chest.
“I get what you mean, but that queen Chloe is one sexy werewolf, So I will still vote for her.” Zander chuckled.
“Yeah, the king is quite hot as well, I guess your right.” Chloe giggled again.
A knock on the bedroom door sounded, and Caroline poked her head around it.
“Hey Chloe, I got your outfit as ordered.” She smiled, then hung up the clothes bag on the wardrobe door.
“Thanks.” Chloe smiled at her.
“How is Drake this morning?” Zander asked Caroline.
“He is great, he is able to get out of bed without wincing now, and has begun light training, although he said it still hurts like hell when he shifts, but it is a lot better each time he does it.” Caroline grinned.
“He looked good when I saw him yesterday, he has put on so much weight I had to do a double take.” Chloe smiled at Caroline.
“I know, he is normal weight, and given he has not been able to exercise, he has a pot belly going on. I know normally we all love 8 packs and muscles, but seriously seeing that belly as much as I know it will soon tone up, when he starts training again, I kind of hope it remains. I love it, because it means he is well fed.” Caroline grinned.
Chloe laughed, and nodded, she understood, for Caroline, all she cared about was Drake eating; and boy did she make him eat.
Caroline walked out of the room and Chloe went and zipped down the suit bag. Zander looked his eyes wide with shock as he saw what she was proposing to wear to go cast her vote.
“What do you think?” Chloe asked taking the navy pant suit and white blouse with a tie neck out of the bag.
“Well, it is not what I expected.” Zander answered as honestly as he could.
Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Three
Chloe looked out of her bedroom window, the daffodils were blooming, the purple and white crocuses peaking through the long grass at the edge of the lawned area that once had been a sea of b***d on muddy earth covered in snow.
The truth was he hated it, he knew that his mate was trying to act like the perfect Queen by purchasing this conservative outfit, but it was not her.
“Yeah, I had a look at a load of general election videos that the humans have as a point of reference, and all the candidates for parliament wear this type of thing, so thought I better follow suit.” Chloe sighed.
Zander could see in his mate’s eyes that she hated this outfit as much as he did, and he sat down on the edge of the bed, pulling her onto his lap.
“Chloe, can I be honest?” Zander gently asked.
“Yeah.” Chloe nodded, worrying her bottom l*p.
“You have your own unique and amazing style; people love that about you. Seeing you in this type of outfit, well, in my opinion, it will make them think you are trying to be something you are not. I think that outfit is not you, and people will hate it, almost as much as I do.” Zander said.
“Oh, thank f**k for that, it is horrid, but I thought you would want me dressed appropriately.” Chloe sighed out in relief.
“No, my little mate, I want you as you are. Because to me, and everyone who has the pleasure of knowing you, you are damn well perfect. Now go get something that you would normally wear and put that monstrosity out of my sight.” Zander grinned at her.
Chloe smiled happily as she looked at herself in the mirror, she wore a black V-neck T-shirt she had printed, with an image of Sheba and Caesar together howling at a crescent moon, her black jeans were ripped and frayed at the thighs and knees, her purple hair hanging straight down her back, her earrings were a chain made of safety pins, and of course her favourite pair of doc martins, sprayed Purple.
“Ready.” She shouted to Zander who chuckled when he saw her and placed a soft k**s on her head, handing Phoenix to her.
“Much better, now, let’s go vote.”
Nicki strapped Hannah to her chest in the baby harness, looking round at Josh, other than the thin scar that ran down his eye through his eyebrow you would never know that he had his eye gouged out. She grinned up at him, because she found the scar sexy as, Jason Momoa didn’t have a look in compared to her mate with a scar on his eye.
“Are you perving my scar again little froggy?” Josh chuckled as he pulled his black t-shirt over his bulging muscles.
“Maybe.” Nicki grinned at him.
He knew rather than turn Nicki off, it did things to her body, and he could smell her arousal every time she looked at his face. It was like she was a wolf in eternal heat, and he would like to bet he would plant a pup in her again soon, if he hadn’t done so already.
“So, every pack has their own polling booth, we go vote, pose for the cameras, although I think Zander and Chloe will have to deal with more photographers than we do, then what are your plans.?” Josh asked with a smirk.
“Well, I was meeting up with Lacey, Mam and Chloe after. Lacey wants to start baby shopping even through she only found out she was pregnant a few days ago, and Mam needs a pram, she wants to get everything in as she is getting bigger by the day.” Nicki grinned.
“Yeah, she is, it won’t be long before Andrew puts her on bedrest, like he did you.” Josh laughed, knowing Cheryl would deal with that just as badly as Nicki did.
“She has already been warned, he is taking no chances with her. The pup is werewolf, unlike Hannah, so even stronger, she is already struggling.” Nicki smiled, then shuddered at the memory of having a fast pregnancy. Birthing werewolf pups, even when they are human at the end of it was exhausting.
“Okay, well Zander, Robin, Luke and I are going to head to St Andrews for a round of golf, have some ‘Man’ time. Before we all gather together at Crescent moon for the results.” Josh grinned at her.
“Do you even play golf?” Nicki asked, thinking there was still so much she didn’t know about her mate and husband.
“I wouldn’t class what I do with a club and golf ball as playing, more like hit it and hope.” Josh laughed.
“Okay, well let’s go vote. What time do you think we will know?” Nicki asked.
“The polling stops at 9pm, so probably around this time tomorrow morning. It is going to be a long night.” Josh smiled.
Lacey sat on the floor of her bathroom, hugging the toilet bowl.
“Hey, maybe try some dry toast and ginger tea.” Robin sighed worried about his mate’s morning sickness.
“Or maybe tell the pack to not put smoked kippers on the breakfast menu for a while.” Lacey g*****d out then began to wretch once more at the memory of the smell.
“How long before we go vote?” Lacey asked.
“Ten minutes till the polls open, I know we all agreed to vote at the exact same time as a show of unity, but the others will understand if you cannot make it, due to being sick.” Robin reassured his mate, as he tenderly rubbed her back.
“Did Delphine open all the windows to get rid of the smell?” Lacey asked.
“Yes, she did, and whilst you get washed up, I will do a quick run around to see if the scent has gone before you head downstairs.” Robin smiled.
Lacey nodded her thanks. She was happy, well ecstatic about the pregnancy, but she had planned to try next year, once everything had settled down. But after the war, she could not control her wolf’s urges anymore, and had gone into heat, like never before. It had to be the best week of her life, but now she was paying the price, unable to stomach the smell of fish, or garlic for some strange reason, it seemed their pup didn’t like it much.
Standing up, Lacey grabbed her toothbrush and began to clean her teeth, then splashing her face with water, she was glad she had not begun to put make-up on, else she would have to start again. Looking at her watch, she realised that she now had no time, and her normally perfect red hair was tied back in a simple ponytail, guess she was going to have to learn to rock the ‘Mum’ look from now on.
“All clear, smell all gone, windows open, and Delphine went to town on the lavender air freshener you seem to love at the moment.” Robin laughed.
“Okay, let’s go before I need to throw up again.” Lacey grinned, knowing that the nausea was never far away.
The group of Alpha’s, Luna’s all sat around the firepit on the patio outside the Crescent Moon pack house living room. The night was chilly, so they had wrapped them selves in thick fleece blankets as they waited for the results of the vote to come through. Each pack counted their own, but then they were taken away where two members of each pack waited to confirm the count. Faith and Luke were the Crescent moon counters, and Chloe waited impatiently for the results.
“Kris and Zoe text, with an update, the count is nearly done.” Josh smiled.
“Did they give any indication of who is winning?” Chloe asked.
“No, as you are well aware Chloe, they cannot do that, Faith has told you multiple times when you ask her how it is going. Ask again and I will have to bend you over my knee.” Zander chuckled at her.
“Did they give any indication of who is winning?” Chloe immediately asked again a smirk on her face as everyone laughed at her.
The sun began to peak above the trees, as Chloe stifled a tired yawn, they had been awake now for over 24 hours. Zander’s phone rang, and everyone froze, as he looked at Chloe reaching out and grabbing her hand.
“This is it.” He stated, then answered the phone.
“Zander, we have a result.” Faith told him her voice low almost as if sad and he prepared himself for bad news.
