The Alpha's Exchanged Mate
The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 190

Ben’s POV…

It had appeared as a dream when some armed warriors with the night howlers warrior uniform barged into the meeting room. Finally, Bethel had agreed to us acting fast before the night howlers woke up from their slumber.

With me in attendance, he had invited his pack council members to strategize on a means to conquer the whole of the night howlers pack.

According to Bethel, we would need to act discreetly, considering the fact that the sizzlers pack was still under a strict lockdown. I had John with me as my underdog after dressing him up in a whole lot of disguise. I wasn’t ready to get in the bad books of Bethel yet, not until I got what I wanted.

It was past midnight, and all of us had protective gear on even after having sanitized ourselves. Bethel had reminded me of the promises I made to him if he helped conquer the sizzlers pack as he insisted on him risking his members’ lives for me.

We hadn’t spent thirty minutes into the meeting when the warriors burst in and subdued us all. The one who held me down, in particular, was incredibly strong. It still didn’t occur to me what was going on as Bethel struggled against the one who held him captive. But they really came prepared. Seeing Bethel might shift and attack him, one of them sprayed the room with a deadly gas that had us feeling a bit dizzy. I couldn’t shift even if the thought came to mind.

I wanted to believe Bethel’s warriors would come through until an opening like an underground tunnel burst open and several other warriors of the night howlers pack trooped in. My irritation mounted when I saw Caleb make his way in after several others. I growled deeply when to my surprise, Xander stepped out at his full length without his wheelchair!

Now, I was completely knocked out of my guts. The look on his face was malicious, and I didn’t keep mine at bay either. I cussed out loudly; it was clear that they had the whole pack surrounded, considering the number of them in the room at the moment.

Bethel hissed loudly, “what the f**k, Xander!” He growled in anger, the gas still smelling strong in the room. Only the night howlers appeared unaffected by it.

Xander sat on the table, staring at us all in amusement. I noticed Malia from my side glance, looking like she would pass out. He tossed the mini attack structure that had been put in place on how to invade the night howlers.

“Can’t believe you really aren’t backing off, despite everything you made me and my pack go through!” Xander howled at me.

I stared with a blank look on my face. Nothing about Xander scares me, which is a huge flex for me. He always appears like a cub or toothless wolf. His emotions take too much control of him.

“Look who we have here, alpha. John Sinclair.” Caleb called from behind, pushing John to the floor.

“Who the f**k is John Sinclair?” Bethel boomed with anger.

“Shit!” I cursed under my breath.

Xander chuckled dryly, “it appears you don’t know things have been happening under your very nose. How naive can you be, Bethel? You trust someone who betrayed his own best friend and think you are safe with him?”

Bethel turned towards me, still trying to shrug off the hands holding him down. They had doubled on us now. Each one of us had two captors. He tilted his head.

“Did you sneak someone in without my permission?”

The question seemed stupid to me. He broke the rules himself. I don’t think what I did should be considered wrong, but I didn’t need to tell him that yet.

“I can explain this later, Alpha Bethel. Send a signal to your army to get this over with.” I said.

“You bastard! How dare you put my pack members in harm’s way?” Bethel kept on.

I rolled my eyes at Bethel and his obsession with his pack members. “It was just one person!” I retorted.

His next move seem like he would come for my neck. I could see Xander and his crew enjoying the scene.

“Stop with this humiliation Xander and do whatever it is you want. It’s obvious you have the whole pack surrounded.” Bethel sounded defeated, and I felt ashamed of him.

I tried to call out to him, but he certainly had no intention of paying me any mind.

Readjusting himself on the table he sat at, Xander cleared his throat. Facing Bethel squarely.

“Before I ask for your release, I would like to ask if you are willing to come to a resolution with me. And you will ask your warriors to stand back. I’m sure they are in a fatal revolt against my warriors now.”

I tried to snatch myself away from those holding me down, growling to Bethel to not accept whatever it was Xander had to say to him. But he paid me no mind as he nodded his head.

Nodding his head, Xander ordered Bethel to be released.

He stood up, trying to hold still as he staggered, and then he glared at Xander.

“How am I certain you aren’t trying to play me?” Queried Bethel.

“All I want to discuss with you would end in just five minutes and if it doesn’t sit well with you. Then I will gladly rip every one of your heads off.” Xander replied.

Bethel appeared unfazed as he stood with a raised brow. I must say his gut is one thing that I do admire. His energy matched mine, which is why I really want to partner with him.

“Sit.” Ordered Xander.

Bethel snickered, “you won’t order me around in my pack.”

“Sit, Bethel!” His growl sounded deep from within.

Not arguing anymore, Bethel sat his bloody a*s down, which I would really love to tear apart for being such a weakling. There is no way I was allowing any of them to ruin my plan. I decided to watch and strategize on what I had to do next.
