The Alpha's Exchanged Mate
The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 104

Authors POV…

Folding her arms over her chest, she stared at him curtly. It was obvious he had something on his mind. However, he resorted to stomping around the house, arranging and rearranging things. Caleb acted like a child that had been deprived of some goodies. He had his neck out with his shoulders sagging after him. Becca thought of actually saying something, but she was pissed at him for acting awkward with Carlos.

The last time he had seen them together, his reaction today had been the same. If it wasn’t so apparent that he was into another woman, she would have thought he was reacting out of jealousy.

Ever since he claimed to be in love, Caleb had become sort of selfish.

His feelings made him oblivious to the effect his love-struck heart had on someone like herself. Becca wanted to hold him from behind, hug his back tight to her chest, and fill all of him. He looked so sexy and tempting, unintentionally, her teeth pulled at her lips softly, making her let out an almost inaudible m**n. Her face flushed at how much she was embarrassing herself.

Caleb looked towards her swiftly; he had heard the sound she made and was very sure it had come from her.

“Did you just m**n?” He uttered the first sentence since they stepped back into the house

Becca stared ahead, putting a hand to her neck. “M**n? What do you mean by that?”

“My ears don’t fool me. I had my wolf ears open, and I’m sure I heard it from you.” He insisted, plopping himself into the beanbag, settling a few feet away from the kitchen.

“I don’t know what you mean by that.” She argued

Taking a deep breath, Caleb sat forward, clasping his palms together. “Becca…” He called out

She was starting to feel uncomfortable. Was she that loud? Becca asked herself.

“…I know it’s been long since you have been with a man and experienced all of the things that come with being a man. But, I want to beg you to not choose Carlos as the one.” He said, looking all serious.

It took a while for the message he was passing reckoned in Becca’s head. She let out a gasp, “are you being real right now?”

Caleb raised a brow, “sure, I am. I need you to know that Carlos is a man whore and he has nothing to offer, there have been times….”

“Stop!” Becca yelled, cutting him off. “I can’t believe this has been the reason why you became protective all of a sudden. What exactly gave you the idea that I have any sort of interest in him?”

“You seem happier with him and I have never seen you smile at me in the manner you did with him.” He defended

Becca held onto her hair staring squarely at him. Anger was bobbing through her insides, and she felt the urge to slap some sense into him. But she could sense his concern, and it hurt her so much that he couldn’t see through her and know just how much she wanted him. Calming her nerves, Becca counted her breaths.

“You are getting it all wrong, Caleb. I am only friends with Carlos, nothing else, and he seems very nice.”

He shook his head, still not convinced. Moving closer to her, he sat next to her holding her hands. “I won’t forgive myself if you get hurt, I would burn anyone’s a*s up if they hurt you.”

“You should burn yourself up then.” Becca muttered under her breath.

“What?” He asked.

Looking up at him, “nothing at all.”

“Promise?”

She nodded, “very certain,” before pulling her hands out of his firm grip to stop the sensation teasing her thighs and insides from embarrassing her yet again. Watching him closely, she could tell he had something on his mind which was obviously weighing him down. They have been able to decode their moods after years of being friends. She was sure something was on his mind.

“Mind offloading your truck of burden?” Becca requested.

Letting out a chuckle, Caleb rested on the couch, throwing his head back. “I’m that obvious, huh?”

“No one reads you better than I do.” And she meant it. “So what’s wrong?”

Sitting up, he heaved, “it’s Ramona.”

Becca’s heart ached as he uttered the name. Whenever they are together alone, she forgets there is any obstacle to loving him. However, Caleb always finds a way to bring in her name. Rebuking herself, she tried to hold up a cheerful face.

“What’s the matter with Ramona?”

“I can’t explain it. Just this evening, we had gone on a dinner date, had a good time, and had mind-blowing s*x. I was so excited I almost sank my teeth into her neckline….”

Becca’s eyes watered as he kept talking. The thought of him being so filled with pleasure and intending to claim her made her already broken heart shatter into tiny pieces. At this point, it would be really hard to mend.

He continued with the talk, oblivious to her pain, “then she got pissed and asked me to marry her if I wanted to claim her, and when I asked if she loved me, she barged out of the house.” Caleb lamented, holding up his head with his hands

Becca had no strength to console him. She was just as distorted as he was. However, she still has to be there for him as a good friend.

When she patted his back lightly, Caleb leaned into her and then rested his head on her bosom. The action wasn’t new, but it sent a different signal to Becca’s sensitive parts. She refused to pay it any attention.

“You would need to call her and talk it out. Not tonight though, she wouldn’t be in the best of moods to talk to you.” She advised.

“Would she see me?”

“Yes, she would. You matter to her and she wouldn’t want to lose you.”

Nodding in agreement, he leaned into her further, making Becca’s back more rested on the couch. They both remained there in silence, with Caleb hoping Ramona would actually profess her true feelings for him. While Becca, on the other hand, hopes dearly she doesn’t force herself on him with the feel of his hot breath on her skin as she drips heavily into her panties.
