Asher was furious within himself as he continued to head towards his room. Kara really has some nerve going against him like that. He clearly gave her an order and she did the exact opposite.

A smile tugged at the corner of his l*p when he recalled Kara’s words some more. Elizabeth had really hit her on the face? Whoa, looks like his little miss wasn’t exactly as helpless after all.

Hitting Kara that way is risky and at the same time brave but he still got to hand it to her. She didn’t allow herself get intimidated by the fact that Kara could hurt her really bad.

Asher has always seen the fire in her eyes and know she is a fierce one. Being through a lot yet still tough on the inside like little crackless nut.

The Alpha caught himself smiling even though as he thought about the hunter’s daughter now under his care. He really can’t believe he was thinking in that direction but Elizabeth was starting to affect him too much.

So much so that he can’t help but protect her at every second and it’s not because of the pregnancy anymore. There is just something about her that calls to him, always leaving him weak around the knee.

Asher was still walking down the hallway when his eyes caught something up in the distance and he came to an abrupt stop. He didn’t know if his eyes were deceiving him but he was sure the figure crumpled on the floor was none other but Elizabeth.

From the way she looked, he could tell she was still breathing though unconscious as he went running to her.

“Elizabeth! Elizabeth!’’ Asher called as he gathered her into his arms immediately.

She was out cold just as he feared and he held her close to his chest and began to cradle her even more. He felt her pulse and all he got was a weak one, it was barely there which just made him frantic.

“Oh please, I think she is just pretending” Kara said with a scoff coming from behind him and Asher’s head snapped at her direction.

“What the f**k are you doing here?” He snarled and she took a step back before holding out the item in her hand towards him.

“You left this at my place and I only wanted to give it back”

Asher’s eyes moved from her face and back at the bracelet in her hand and g*****d.

“That’s not mine”

Her eyes narrowed and Asher continued.

“Maybe you should go ask one of the guards you sleep with” He said and heard her gasped.

“What do you mean, Asher”

“What? You think I don’t know what goes on in my own pack?”

Asher decided to ignore her completely as he got back on his feet and began to head towards his room, with Kara still following him from behind.

Last time something like that happened, it was because of the pregnancy and with the way she was looking at the moment, he knew it was the same case. He only wondered if she had taken her medication or not.

He got back to the room and lay her back on the bed after carefully stepping across the broken glass on the floor. He also noticed the drawer was a jar, meaning she was trying to get to her medication.

Asher sighed even more feeling guilty within himself knowing she didn’t help and he wasn’t there to help.

He leaned over her on the bed with her hand still grasped in his gently.

“Come on, Elizabeth. Please wake up” He half plead and demanded at the same time.

“just leave her, I’m sure she’ll get back up when she’s done pretending”. Kara voice said from behind him.

He stared at her from where she stood and wondered what in the world she was still doing there as he kept staring at her with unspoken rage in his eyes.

“What are you still doing here, Kara?”

She answered without looking at him, “I had to come make sure she isn’t pretending only to watch you be all over her like that. You accused me of sleeping with everyone else yet you sleep with her every night. I mean, look at how worked up you look by that obvious acting of her. I’m starting to think you are developing feelings for her” She accused before looking back to face Asher whose rage was starting to grow even more.

“What the f**k did you just say to me?”

“You defend her from everyone else, including me even though I’m the one who get hit in the face by that woman. Am I wrong to think you care for her more than you are letting on? And don’t tell me it’s because of that cursed pregnancy because it’s not and you know it” She yelled in frustration

“You are starting to fall for her ain’t you?” She accused even more, pointing a finger at him.

Asher only let out a warning growl before stepping towards her with eyes narrowed into slit.

Kara on the other hand had noticed the look in his eyes and has began to move back and away from him. She has seen him angry a lot of times but this was more ugly than she has ever seen and it was all directed at her.

Asher looked like he was about to murder her.

“please, I’m sorry. I’m just concern for you” She croaked.

“Get out of my room this minute” Asher barked and she shutter before springing into action and scurry out the door.

Even though Kara was now gone. Asher could still hear her voice in his ears as he stood staring at Elizabeth form on the bed. Now she look more asleep than troubled.

The more he stared at her, the more realization hit him and he knew Kara was right.

Elizabeth hasn’t just affected his wolf. She was starting to affect everything about him too.

Deep down in his heart, Asher knew it was going to be a matter of time before the council of elders accuse him of the same but until then, he knew it would be best to keep Kara shut and his feelings in check.
