Beth POV.

Beth woke up with a gasp, heaving with sweat dripping down her face. She had just had a bad dream, a very bad one at that. At first, Everything was just a jumbled mess of memories and images that made little or no sense to her.

Just then, as if struck by a thunderbolt, Elizabeth remembered what she had dreamt about as she yelp even more in panic.

Asher had tried to kill she and her unborn child. In the dream, he has a dagger with him and was going to kill her and her child with it.

Elizabeth shivered as she recalled his every move and even the look of hatred in his eyes. It was all so real, so real that she thought it was really the end. She had never seen Asher look at her that way before. The look in his eyes was one of pure loath and hatred, one so strong she knew if it had been real, he would have probably killed her.

But then again, it was just a dream.

Just then, she let out a deep sigh and glanced at his side of the bed, only to find it empty. Asher wasn’t there. Maybe he has gone to the bathroom, she thought and even called him.

“Asher?” She called out once again but got no reply and then it hit her.

Asher is not in bed and not even in the bathroom. He was gone just like he did last night.

This realization made her sad because she knew if he wasn’t then he must have gone to be with Kara. That was the only logical explanation for him to be gone in the middle of the night.

Suddenly, Elizabeth was filled with a deep sense of anger and jealousy so much so that it was burning through her throat like hot lava.

She couldn’t quite understand why Asher was drawn to that whore of a woman. She is no good for him but like the arrogant fool he was, he would rather go to her, not that she would want him to pick her or anything but still, the thought of him going to that woman bothers her.

Maybe, this was because she just how much Kara hated her and wanted her gone and now she has managed to get Asher under her claws. Fresh tears stain her eyes but before it could spill over, she wiped it off with the back of her hand before sniffing back the rest.

Elizabeth sighed, sitting back up on the bed. Now, the rest of her night was completely ruined by the dream she had. There was no way she would be falling back asleep.

Asher on the other hand had successfully ruined her reality as well and that she already hated him for.

With nothing else to do, Elizabeth stared into space. She couldn’t do anything else, not even sleep. She needed someone to talk to or at least, someone who would be by her side. At least, if Asher was by her side, she would feel a sense of safety within her but no one was here which left her feeling more depressed and sad.

Elizabeth decided to try and get some sleep still. It was so late in the night and she had a feeling that Asher might not be coming back so why wait up for him when he clearly did not want to lie next to her in bed.

She switched off the bedside lamp, staring at the ceiling. She still couldn’t sleep which made her frustrated and sad. She didn’t know what the problem was but there was still something nagging her at the back of her mind.

“Just go to sleep already” She grumbled under her breath feeling frustrated.

Just then, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach and followed by a gasp. The pain moved up, climbing her stomach like her child wanted to force his own way out, causing her an excruciating pain and agony.

“Crap” Elizabeth muttered a cursing realizing she must have forgotten to take her medication before bed that night.

She knew what was about to happen, she knew the pain would get worst soon if she doesn’t do something soon, this was exactly what had happened a few weeks ago but then, she had someone to help her. Now, she was left alone which left her feeling scared.

She crawled out of bed and tried to reach for the drawer containing her drugs but couldn’t when she was hit by another pain.

“Argh’’ Elizabeth cried out with more pain shooting through her.

She dropped to the floor crying when the pain became unbearable. She tried to grab the glass of water but it fell off, clattering to the ground missing her slightly.

Elizabeth was frustrated as she felt more and more of the pain, With the last strength she had, Elizabeth struggled back on her knees and opened the drawer but her medication bottle was empty.

Asher was supposed to meet Eva for more and must have forgotten. She staggered towards the door, in hopes that a guard would be passing. She needed someone who could help her, someone who could get her to Eva.

She tripped and fell which worsened the pain. Elizabeth felt faint now, there was no strength left in her. She crawled towards the door, managing to get it open but just like she thought earlier, there was no one there.

“Help!” she tried screaming but it only came out as a weak cry.

The corridor was deathly silent, there was no one in sight which just worsened the situation she was in.

“Aah, please help me” she whispered more to herself as she began to feel herself go under even more, still wishing someone could hear her.

“Asher!” the name slipped out of her mouth before the last bit of strength left her.

Her eyes rolled all the way back just as she was sucked into the yawning abyss with no hope of being rescued.
