Taken By The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 21
“I condemn her to death. That is my final judgment. She will be killed by the next full moon as sacrifice to the moon goddess for Macy to find eternal rest”
Those same words haven’t stopped ringing in her head for the past days now as she was left to wither away in her dark empty cell. Words along can not begin to describe how she feels knowing how soon her life was about to come to an abrupt end in a matter of days
Beth hasn’t just resigned herself to the fate awaiting her, she has also lost all appetite for food and no amount of growl and snarling from anyone could get her to do as told.
Her only wish is to starve to death and be spared the misery, once and for all. What was the point of getting fed if she would be slaughtered in a couple of weeks like some farm animal. Starving herself to death was one way she found she could help them achieve their aim a bit faster.
More days slip by and she continued to wallow and drown herself in self pity while still locked up in her little hell. The new moon filtered through the cracked wall into her dark space, reminding her of the looming danger that was starting to draw closer by the day.
Each night she went to sleep dreaming of being free and finally united with her mother. There was a promise of someplace better awaiting her on the other side and she just couldn’t wait to embrace it.
Soon it would be her last day on earth.
Beth stood by the window staring into the night, just waiting when they finally came for her late in the night while the moon is said to be at its highest peak, she went willingly. Without struggle or screams.
Still clothes in her shredded piece of shirt. She was shoved out into the open towards the arena where everyone was waiting.
Pack members gathered in their numbers as she was being led to the execution ground with shackles binding her hands to the front. Her movement began to slowed as she got closer and closer to the huge bonfire in the middle of everyone.
Would she be thrown in to the fire to roast like a piece of steak? She wondered as panic start to rise in her chest like a tornado.
Beth let out a deep breath she didn’t realized she was holding in the moment she was led past the fire to stand before the crowd of men and women, children alike, after which she was made to kneel before the one said to be their oracle.
An old woman with long grey hair and yellow painted face stood before her. Her soft blue eyes staring intensely at her lifeless ones. Out of curiosity, Beth shifted her gaze from her eyes to settle on the crown made out of feathers on her head.
The old woman seem really strong for her age as she began to chant and dance around in circle before dipping her two index into the clay bowl in her palm and reached out to mark Beth with red chalks across her forehead before continuing in her dance.
Tilting her head slightly to rest against her shoulders, Beth stare up at the rising moon and found it to be indeed at its best as it smiled brightly at the ongoing of its worshippers. Somehow they believed, by killing her, the soul of their death Luna would find rest in the afterlife.

Beth has read books about these sort of mythological creatures and occurrences but she never once thought or believed any of them to be real or likely to happen to her. It felt so far fetched and unrealistic until recently when she found herself in the mist of them.
It’s really funny how life can turn out to be. One moment it was tales in the pages of books and the next, it was her own reality.
The more she stared up at the full moon, the more she realized the extent of its powers. Something weird yet calming was flowing through her veins, opening up her mind as memories from her childhood start to flood her mind.
Beth could remember running through their garden as her mother chases after her, needing her to come meet someone who had come to see her. While she finally heed to her mother’s call, she walked in to meet a man with the brightest of smiles waiting with open arms just for her at their front porch. She was barely five at the time and wanted to learn something new so he offered to teach her a song that was also taught to him by his father.
Suddenly caught up in her childhood memories, Beth found herself humming to those exact tone that man had sang to her that day. The more she hummed, the more the tones came easy to her and she found her initial anxiety starting to slip away. The fear and anguish suddenly being replaced by a new desire to live.
More courage surged through her chest and burst to the surface as they flow down her cheeks. The moment sounds of drum went off, loud and echoing into the night yet slowly falling into rhythm as it set a quick pace with the thumping of her heart, further pulling forth something that was once buried within her.
Winds blew and stirred through the set fire causing the flames to wrangle back and forth in a dance of their own. Her eyes rolled and shifted from the increasing flame to Asher who held her gaze with equal hardness. A perfect blend of rage underlying his dark features as his gaze continued to burn through her.
Shifting her teary gaze away from Asher, it met with Alex who stood not far away. His harden features softened a little when he realized she was looking at him. For a moment, they held each other gaze and in those eyes she saw most of the words he never said to her. If not for their circumstance, They could have made good friends if not acquaintances but now isn’t the time to think about what would have been.
Another minute went by before their gaze was broken off the moment the drummer stopped playing suddenly and Asher stepped forwards in all his glory.
“Many century ago, our forefathers were known to occupy this lands, living side by side with the humans in peace before they broke that harmony when they stalked and hunted our kinds like mere animals even though we have shown them just how much we can be civilized by living among them” Asher began sounding so historic as though he was there many centuries ago. If not for the tears still pooling at her eyes, Beth would have probably rolled them but it turned out his speech was the least of her worries.
“Vicious humans with malicious intent hunted and slaughtered our innocents in their numbers, our Luna included, so tonight, we take our revenge by spilling the b***d of one of their own as a warning to all of her kind out there. Tonight, we do this for Macy and every single one of us who have died in the hands of a demon hunter. We do this for our race, for the Lycanthrope in our veins and all the veins alike”
There were loud roars of agreement. Loud and hungry for the taste of her b***d causing her to tremble fearfully. Her eyes darting around, looking at the faces of those creatures who couldn’t wait to end her.
Beth gasped in fright when she was yanked by the arm and she peered up at Asher, expecting him to rip her apart and get it over with.
“I truly hope you rot in the deepest part of hell like your kind” He growled at her, his words thick with venom as he glared at her.
“If my father is half the man you said he is, I truly hope he finds you and make you pay just as much as you did me” Beth said with an innocent little smile, staring back at Asher.
His grip tightened around her arms even more as she wince in pain, “Don’t worry, I will be the one to find him and this time, I will be the one to put a hole through his chest and not the other way round”
Beth was forced to knee before the oracle once again before the final howl announcing her death was sounded.
Beth couldn’t help but stared back at Asher one last time as she behold the face of the man who had sentenced her to death for a crime she didn’t commit and in those eyes, she saw nothing but pure satisfaction before her eyes fluttered close for what would be the very last time while awaiting the deadly blow from the mask man who stood behind her and eager to get her life over and done with.
