Chapter 113

Beth couldn’t help but think about how life in the city would be like after being away for almost a year.

Somehow, she has gotten used to staying in the pack and returning to the city only felt like a distance dream to her.

She arrived there with nothing and bonded with a few people who genuinely cared for her in the mist of people who wanted her b***d to be spilled.

Even though it has been her dream to return, she still can’t help but feel sad about leaving. Especially now that things were starting to look good for her.

“Asher, what if we choose to stay” Beth asked quietly, staring back at him and Asher was surprised and he arched a brow at her.

“Are you going to stay?” Asher asked excitedly but his face fell when Beth gave him no answer.

He really wished and prayed she would stay back, he wants her by his side. He also wishes for both of them to raise their son together.

After some minutes of no reply said, he simply let out a sigh before allowing himself to sleep off.

Beth on other hand couldn’t sleep as she kept on contemplating on whether she should leave or not. She badly wants to stay and also eager to return back to her life.

Things would never be the same again but she was strong enough to try and pick up from where she had left off. Her eyes wandered to where son lay sleeping, a small smile tugging at her lips.

His existence in her life had been unexpected but it has become the best thing in her life and if she was to go through it all just to have him then she would.

Her life might be broken but she would make sure nothing and no one get to disturb his and that’s why she has to go, to be far away from all the b***d l**t and fight.

Sam deserve to have a normal life like every other kid out there and even if it means keeping him away from his father then she would.

Like Asher said, it was for the betterment of everyone.

She felt Asher stir in his sleep and turned to face him, he was sleeping again. She continued to stare at him sleep before she reached out a hand to trace his eye brow with her middle index.

She couldn’t believe how much time has passed ever since she was taken by the same man who she once had nothing but complete hatred for.

To her, he was nothing but a monster who was blinded by his own rage and quest for revenge and at that moment all that was left was admiration for the man he has come to be.

His fierceness at defending what was his, stopping at nothing to be the leader he is supposed to be and above all, the big heart he always tries to hide in his big manly body.

“I’m sorry Asher but I have to go home. That’s where I belong even though I really wish not to leave but I have to. Sam deserve to have a normal life even though that would mean not having his father with him. But I will make sure he knows what a great man that you are. I can’t promise to be back but I would miss you a lot, Asher and I hope you don’t forget me because I won’t.” Beth said with tears in her eyes and kissed Asher slightly on his lips.

She relax further into the bed and pulled herself closer to him, wrapping her arms around his midrib.

°° The next morning °°

Beth stretched her body under the duvet and woke up from her long sleep.

Her eyelids parted ways and she sat up wearily pulling the duvet above her chest.

She smiled remembering her sweet night with Asher. She rubbed her eyes so as to see clearly because it was still early in the morning and the room was still dark as the curtains were down but the bed was empty, making her realized Asher was probably out already.

She yawned loudly and looked around, but was surprised to see Asher carrying their baby in arm.

The two sat on the couch, Asher was dressed in a sweat pant with body hug shirt.

“Your momma is awake, didn’t you notice your momma sleeps too much? Just imagine, she is waking up at the late hours of the morning.” Asher said to baby Sam as he stroked his hair.

Beth chuckled,

“What are you both discussing? It’s too early to be gossiping.” Beth said with a weak glare at his direction.

“Are you trying to call us gossipers? We only said the truth, maybe you don’t really know what the time says.” Asher said and Beth sighed.

She knew it was late in the morning already but She was worn out from yesterday’s energetic and sweet lovemaking.

She stared as Asher played with their baby, he so much love baby Sam and she couldn’t help but feel guilty because she will prevent Asher from seeing his child once she leaves.

She imagined they were one family and wished they were truly one and she didn’t have to go.

“How was your night? Hope you slept well?” Asher asked, breaking her out of her thought.

“Uhm, good? I slept good” She replied sharply as she could feel her cheek burning with embarrassment under Asher’s attention. She stood up from the bed still holding the duvet close to her chest.

She wrapped it round her body.

“Are you sure? You look like you didn’t sleep at all last night. Could it be that you needed more rounds.” Asher replied and Beth threw a pillow immediately causing the latter to doge, laughing at her reaction.

“Just stop talking already.” Beth ordered hurrying to the bathroom.

“Are you sure you can wash yourself well or I should come do that myself.?”

“Go away, pervert. My hands are still functioning well.” Beth replied throwing the duvet on the bed and rushing into the bathroom.

Asher only smiled and continued playing with his son.

He just felt like staying with them all through the day but he still had a lot to attend to. Especially the pending investigation with the remaining elders as they were still behind bars.

More minutes passed before Beth came out from the bathroom dripping wet with only a single white towel wrapped on her body which barely made it to her thighs.

Asher couldn’t help but admire her beauty, she looked more sexy.

“Trying to seduce me right?”

“I’m not! Turn your face the other way so I can change into something.”

“What are you hiding? I have seen everything already and I can tell you exactly what they looked and feel like, especially your_”

Beth interrupted him immediately.

“Can you just stop talking dirty?” Beth asked feeling shy already.

“As your ladyship pleases.” Asher teased with a bow and turned his face away.

Beth quickly put on a simple gown but naughty Asher stole some glances, as he stood smiling to himself. Elizabeth would never ceases to amuse him. Her innocence is something he would always miss.

“All done!” Beth informed and was shocked to see Asher staring, he didn’t turn his face away?

“What! You’re so stubborn, I knew you wouldn’t listen.” Beth said feigning an angry look.

“I couldn’t just resist looking your beautiful body. Even Sam agrees, don’t you little buddy?”

Beth blushed instantly. She immediately change into another topic for discussion.

“So surprised you woke up so early. Did Sam cry at all?” Beth asked collecting Sam from his hands.

“Of course he did but you were busy sleeping like a cow.”

“Don’t call me that!” Beth said and smacked his arm, Asher let out a g***n.

“I was just saying the truth. Anyways, I want you to teach me how to bath Sam. He hasn’t taken his bath this morning.”

Beth gave him a look,

“What? You going to teach me or not?”

*No I won’t, Asher”

“Why not?”

“I’m not ready to risk our baby’s life just yet. he would just fall off from your hands or drown, I don’t know but no.” Beth said with a shutter.

“Am serious, he won’t!”

“Okay if you insist but, if you don’t watch him and he get hurt? There will be consequences, Alpha” Beth said mimicking his voice and Asher chuckled.

They got to the bathroom and Asher began taking off Sam’s cloth while Beth fixed his bath. With basic direction, Asher did pretty well and Beth couldn’t help but admire him, he was going to be a good father.

Would she allow her son miss all these fatherly care if she leaves?

Asher later handed the baby to Beth since it was time to breastfeed him.

“I need to go attend to something right now. I will see you both later, please take care of him and yourself.” Asher said as he kissed Sam on his forehead.

“Don’t miss papa too much.” Asher said and also kissed Beth on her forehead before leaving.

It wasn’t long before The door knob squeezed open and Izzy came into view.

“Hey, good morning.”

“Good morning to you Izzy, how are you?”

“I’m fine, look how smiles are plastered on your face. Your prince charming is back, no more worrying and putting on a gloomy face. I am happy to see this joyful side of yours and I pray this happiness last forever.” Izzy said wholeheartedly and gave Beth a side hug before sitting beside her.

“Thanks for standing by me all through his absence. Your type is rare to find and I will forever love and cherish you.”

“A*n, I am blushing so hard.” Izzy said covering her cheeks cutely.

“You’re not serious Izzy.”

“I guess Sam is also happy to have his father back. Everything is fine now right?”

Izzy asked and Beth nodded slowly.

She hasn’t even told Beth she would be leaving soon or the challenge Alex had given Asher. There’s a lot she needs to tell her and it’s high time she stop hiding it from her. .

“How was last night? Did you two?” Izzy asked with a knowing grin and Beth let out a gasp before smacking her arm so hard.

“Ouch! What did I do wrong? I only asked a question.” Izzy protested and Beth rolled her eyes at her.

“You guys did it right?”

“What the hell is wrong with you this morning huh?” Beth asked playfully.

“Just tell me, you promised not to hide anything from me.” Izzy pouted like a baby.

“What’s up with her this days? Behaving like a baby.” Beth thought smiling at her.

“Including my personal life? Hell no! I am not going to tell you poke noser.”

“Don’t call me that, I’m your best friend.” Izzy said rolling her eyes at no one in particular.

Beth sighed sadly.

Izzy noticed her sad face and asked her what’s wrong.

“I have something to tell you”

Izzy got curious as her eyes narrowed back at her.

She took her hands and stared at her in the eyes.

“I am leaving soon.”

“What!”
