Stiles: He was pulled over for speeding!

Me: Okay.

Stiles: You don’t understand! People who speed are always running from something!

Me: I totally understand Stiles, but a speeding ticket isn’t going to get him charged. I mean, how many speeding tickets have you had?

Stiles: None!

I smile

Me: Let me rephrase that, how many would you have gotten if your dad wasn’t on the force?

Stiles: 17.

He blows

Me: Stiles. I’ll take your word for it. If you have a hunch about Theo, I’ll do everything I can to help you prove it. Only, the fine isn’t enough to charge him with anything.

Stiles: I know. You’re right.

I smile at him gently and hold him close.

Me: Don’t worry, if he’s guilty, he’ll take a wrong step. Guilty people always take a wrong step.

He smiles.

Stiles: You sound like my dad.

I laugh

Me: This proves that I’m spending far too much time with you, Stilinskie!

In class

I take out my notebooks and see Scott come in and sit next to me. I frown and turn to Kira and Lydia. They’re making the same face as me and I can see in their eyes that it’s up to me to ask him the question. I breathe and turn to him

Moo: Scott? Do you know what class we’re in?

Scott: Biology.

Lydia: And do you know what kind of class Biology Enhancement is?

Scott: Yeah! University courses!

Since when does Scott want to do university courses?! I spend way too much time without him!

Me: Scott?

Scott: Yes?

Me: Do you want to go to dinner tonight? It’s been a long time since we’ve spent time together.

Scott: I’d love to!

I smile

Me: Great!

He k****s me on the head and smiles back. The teacher comes in and poses in front of everyone

Teacher: Welcome! Let’s see if you’re awake, can anyone tell me what a plasmid is?

Lydia : A self-replicating DNA molecule often used in cloning.

She smiles at me to prove she’s smarter and I roll my eyes.

Prof : Perfect Lydia, what vitamin is absorbed in the stomach via the intrinsic factor called glico vitamin?

Lydia: Erm…

Me: B12!

I give her the same look and stick out my tongue. She rolls her eyes in turn and I laugh

Teacher: That’s excellent Hannah, you’ve chosen an excellent course for biology.

Me: Thank you Madam!

She smiles back at me and continues her lesson.

Later on

I’m in the library with Scott, Kira and Allison studying for next week’s exam. Stiles comes running and almost falls over because he’s in such a hurry.

Stiles: I’ve found it! Look!

He points to Theo’s father’s signature on his school registration and then to his father’s signature on the speeding ticket.

Stiles: They look different!

Kira: Er, Stiles. How did you get access to his file?

Me: I gave it to her!

Scott: What?

Scott glares at me. Scott: What? No one will notice anything! It’s a copy of the file!

Stiles: Can we focus on the signatures, please! They’re different! They’re not the same!

Kira: They look a little different…

Stiles: They’re completely different! This one has too much angularity in the line! The sinusity of the line is not respected at all! It’s typically criminal to have shaky hands!

Kira : So… Theo is Theo but his parents aren’t his parents?

Stiles: Someone’s pretending to be someone else and when I find out who that someone is, they’re not going to be clever!

Scott Allison and Kira look at each other with question marks in their eyes and I look at Stiles, he’s really going to explode.

Scott: But… No one’s done anything wrong.

Stiles: For now! If Theo’s parents are bloodthirsty psychopathic killers, we shouldn’t trust him!

Allison: Sorry, Stiles, but my aunt’s a were-jaguar and my grandad’s a sociopath.

Stiles: Fine! I’ll be fine without you! I don’t need anyone to help me!

He leaves, quickly picking up the papers, and I get up from my chair in a huff. How can they be so mean to him!

Me: No, but do you hear yourselves? Why are you like this with him!

Kira: Hannah. He’s not making any sense!

Me: Sensible or not, we all have to support each other! We’re the super pack after all! Stiles doesn’t have any powers or weapons and yet he’s doing everything he can to help us! I’ve seen her spend a whole night trying to find one of the keys to the blacklist and pestering her dad for documents about Theo.

Scott: Look, Hannah… Theo hasn’t done anything wrong or anything.

I dotted the I’s and crossed the T’s. No matter what I say, they’re never gonna believe me.

Me: Look, Stiles is right, we don’t need you to find information. And by the way Scott, forget dinner, I don’t want to go!

I’m leaving the library, leaving the school and meeting my boyfriend outside.
