Scene 35

I run down the long narrow corridor and find myself blocked against a wall.

Me: F**k!

I turn around ready to run again to find the exit but I bump into someone

Finally I find you…

40 minutes earlier

Me: Stiles, what’s happening to me?!

Stiles: I don’t know! It looks like you’re teleporting!

I bend again and scream in pain, and then it all becomes clear. Allison. Allison’s in danger…

I transform and the pain disappears. I stand up again.

Stiles: Hannah? What are you doing?!?

I put my lips against hers. I don’t have time to dawdle, my best friend is in danger.

Me: I’ll be back, I promise.

Stiles: What? Or you?

I rip off the pyjamas. It’s a good thing I’d planned to wear shorts and a camisole underneath in case I got too hot. I let myself be guided by Allison’s pain and land in some sort of big, dark, damp laboratory. Allison is in a corner of the room and I run towards her. She’s got a gash slicing through her stomach

Allison: What are you doing here?!!?

Me: I’m coming to help you! Kate did this to you!

She shakes her head no. I’ve never seen her so scared at that moment. I put my hands on her stomach to heal her, but…

Allison: Behind you!

I turn around but, too late, I’m propelled a few metres further. I get up but something grabs me and sticks a needle in my arm. I kick the person behind me, who steps back, but he injects me anyway. I rip off the syringe and crush it under my foot. The man comes in front of me and I jump back. The man, or so I think, is wearing a strange suit with a helmet and pipes connecting his mouth to his stomach.

Me: What are you?

Thing: The greatest scientist who has ever existed, warrior.

I propel him against the wall at the other end of the room and run towards Allison. A second one blocks my path but I teleport close to Allison and put my hands on her stomach to heal her but…

Me: It’s not working!

Allison: Careful…

I turn around and one of the scientists throws some kind of sword at me and I manage to catch it. I throw it back at them and create a wall with my powers to stop it going through and turn back to Allison.

Doctor: It’s impossible to heal her, warrior, the poison injected into your b***d blocks that part of your power, the healing…

I have tears in my eyes. I can’t heal her, but I’ve got an idea. I pick up my phone and call Scott.

Me: Take Mom’s car and drive to the hospital! Hurry!

Scott: Why?

Me: Just do it!!! I’ll send Allison, hurry!

I’m hanging up.

Me: Hang on, everything’s gonna be okay. Just think about Scott.

She nods and I send her towards Scott. I turn back to his scientists and stand up. The three of us move forward at the same time and go over the wall without any problems and I move back. The three of them raise their hands and I’m stuck on the wall. I can’t move! With the other hand they throw swords at me and they stab me violently in my arms and stomach. I scream in pain. I can’t move and because they’re inside me, I can’t heal.

Me: Why are you doing this!

Doctor: We want to see how strong you are, warrior.

Me: Hannah’s my name! Free me !

Doctor: Your pack is your strength. It guides your actions and your courage. But it also represents your greatest weakness.

Me: Shut up!!

Doctor: Your species was the strongest on earth. Our experiments were based on you. Your species has changed since…

Me: Stop!!!

I scream so loudly that the glass breaks and they turn around at the back of the room. A boy enters the room and runs towards me. I feel like I know him.

Me: Who are you?

Guy: An old friend

He rips out the swords and I fall off the wall.

Me: Thanks

He nods and we leave the room

Me : What’s your name ?

Guy: Theo, Theo Raeken

Raeken ?

Me: We know each other, don’t we?

Theo: There’s no time! Take this syringe and run!

I obey and we get out of the room. There are several long, narrow tunnels

Me: Where are we going now?

Theo: Me? Nowhere but you ..

Me: What?

He takes the syringe from me and sticks it in my arm.

Me : What are you doing ?!!?

Theo: You just forget about tonight, Hannah McCall!

How does he know my no?!!? Time’s up. I run without knowing where I’m going and leave Theo there.

Back to the present

Finally I find you!

Stiles. I hold him against me but there’s no time for that. He pulls me towards the exit and I breathe in the fresh air but I feel strange.

Me: Stiles?

Stiles: What?

Me: I don’t have my powers anymore…
