Sky's Rejection -
Sky’s Rejection Chapter 66
(Dean’s POV)
It has been two weeks since that dreadful night, though the images are engraved into my mind as if it just happened yesterday. B***d coating the field as twenty bodies laid severed around our Alpha and Luna. Dimitri had Sky cradled in his arms, as he rocked back in forth, begging the Goddess to protect their pup and his mate. I still don’t understand what happened. Did Sky kill all those rogues? Did Dimitri? Were they fighting them together?
For the last two weeks I have been running around with Mark and Ty. Uping our training course, tightening security, adding walking patrol inside the pack grounds.
“Dean.” Dimitri sighed as he walked into the office, plopping into a chair.
“Di, man, you look like s**t. Go take a shower and try to get a nap. I have this handled.” I said as I rose from my seat.
“What have you completed?” Dimitri asked as I watched his eyes close slightly. He ignored everything I said. That’s Di for you, always putting his pack over his own health.
I sighed, as I sat back into my seat. “Well, I increased the border patrol and added walking patrol throughout the pack to secure catching any witches trying to teleport through. That’s if they can even break through Diane’s protection spell. We tripled the training schedule and mixed – up new techniques for them to learn. We also added a defensive course for elders, children and non – fighting pack members. Ariel has joined in helping your mother and Diane with the introduction of our new little alpha. Anytime they need me we go over what I believe sky would like or wouldn’t like. Your father went with the seer to find better doctors to help Sky, I was updated this morning that they found two who have agreed to come back with them. They will be back in a few days. The counsel was notified of the circumstance and is proceeding to come here next week to speak with you. Paperwork is organized from importance and this pile is what I need you to go through for approval and signatures on what you want me to proceed with.”
“Sounds good Dean. I appreciate you helping out the pack for me and making it a little easier on me.” Di said in an exhausted voice, it’s time I need to be a friend and not just his beta.
“Di, as a friend I need you to listen. You need to take care of yourself as well. Go take a shower and a nap, if anything happens, I will inform you. I will even go sit with Sky and the pup as you nap.” I said softly. I know why he is slacking on hisself but as our Alpha we can’t have that.
“I can’t leave Sky. What if something happens to her? What if something happens to our pup and I am not there? Sky can’t protect herself right now and….” Dimitri says in a rush, as he stands up and starts getting heated.
“Di,” I said as I wrapped him in my arms. “You need rest, so you don’t snap at anyone like you are right now. Sky will kill you and me if you look like this when she is awake. You heard the doctor; she is only unconscious because she is fighting the venom away from your pup. I know we are getting a second and third opinion but right now you can sleep, shower and when you are done, I will leave Sky’s room and you can be back with her while working on the paperwork.”
Di chuckles as I watch him look at me sadly, “She should be up by now man. She fought all those rogues by herself, we all got there too late. I should have been faster. The pup is growing like a weed in her and kicks me every time I place my hand on Sky’s stomach. She is missing all of that.”
“I know man, I know.” I said in response with a small smile. I watched as Di left the room; I should get to Sky. I grab the pile of paperwork Di will need to go through. I locked up the office as I headed towards the pack hospital.
‘Babe, I am heading to the infirmary to sit with Sky, as Di showers and takes a nap.’ I mind link to my mate.
‘Okay Dean, be safe and I am happy you got Alpha to get some rest. Make sure he eats too. I will be over later to do a healing ritual on Sky again.’ Diane mind linked back.
‘Right food, thank you. I will see you later, love you.’ I mind linked back before cutting of the connection.
‘Send Alpha some food and chamomile tea to his room. Thank you.’ I mind linked the head of our staff duty.
‘Yes, Beta sir.’ She responded before I dropped the connection.
I knocked lightly on the door, my hopes high that Sky would answer. When no answer came, I walked through the door and took a seat next to the bed.
Oh Sky, you are worrying a lot of people right now and need to come back to us, I thought to myself as I leaned back in my chair. I guess I should get more of this paperwork done.
‘How is training going?’ I asked Ty through mind link, getting an update.
‘Training is going well, I got approval from the counsel to allow some of the special team combat techniques’ to be used here. We are implicating those now.’ Ty mind linked back before he cut off the connection. I swear that guy only tolerates us because of Sky. He is clip noted with his words with everyone except Sky. It is crazy what kind of connection those two have developed.
(Sky’s POV)
“You are asleep right now child as the venom pockets up away from your pup. During that time, I am going to sit here with you so I can begin your training.” She said as I stared at her in confusion.
“What training do I need?” I ask as I stare out at the clouds. Thinking about my mate, the rogues who came after me, their words, what the Goddess told me about the great war to come.
“I am going to train you, so you know how to train and handle the twins.” I whipped my head, looking the Goddess straight in the eyes. The twins who will save all creatures from the death of this war, the ones I don’t know where to find or help.
“Why do I need training? Why couldn’t you train them yourself?” I asked as I looked back out towards the clouds. The sky was so clear, it looked so… white.
“This war is good versus evil; I cannot interfere once it begins. So, I need you to train the twins, the right way Sky. If you isolate either one of them, they will hold resent meant and may fall into evils trap for them. You have to understand, do not favorites’ one child more than the other. Train them equal, one will be different, stronger. Both have to be on the same page, attached to each other, to win this. The world relies on you training them right. You alone cannot defeat this war. One of the twins alone will not defeat this. Though one by themselves can cause the destruction of the end. Be careful Sky. Your actions will decide the fate of all creatures. Do you understand this?” The Goddess warns, staring straight into my soul. I need to do this; I need to be one hundred for these twins.
“I understand,” I dust the cloud off of me as I stand. “What do I need to learn?”
“That’s my girl. I knew I could count on you; Let’s go.” The Goddess said happily as she grabbed my hand, taking me who knows where. Time to focus and keep everything told to me here stored for those twins. We cannot allow evil to win and destroy all of the creatures. I just hope I have time for the pack, our pup, my mate and these twins.
I can do this.
