Sky’s Rejection Chapter 64

(Dimitri’s POV)

I knew Sky was crying but didn’t question her. She would tell me when the time is right. The way her mouth opens and shuts when trying to talk to me earlier makes me think there is something keeping her from being able to talk to me. I will leave it alone for now.

As we walk into the office, I watch Ariel jump out of the seat, wrapping Sky in her arms. “I can’t believe it. You’re having a pup, how exciting. Our babies will be able to grow up with each other. How great will that be?” Ariel rants as I watch Sky slightly flinch at her words.

“Congratulations man. I am happy for you both. Hopefully your pup doesn’t cry as much as ours.” Mark said, in a joking matter. Ariel smacked his chest as she glared at him.

“Do not judge our pup Mark, some babies just need a little extra love.” Ariel raged as she walked back to her seat, smiling down at her pup who seemed to be sleeping peacefully in the car seat. Doesn’t seem as if the pup is crying right now. I wonder what Mark meant but at the same time I don’t think I honestly want to find out. I don’t know who had told them two, but I do know someone will be getting yelled at later.

‘Mate wanted to tell them with us.’ Demon whined as I sat in my chair. I pulled Sky onto my lap, successfully satisfying Demon and putting an end to his whining. Thankfully that stopped before I received a headache. Sky squeaked at me, making me smile. I love the way she reacts to me. Even when she knows it’s coming, she still reacts as if it shocks her every time.

“Dimitri, let me sit in a normal seat.” Sky whispered as she squirmed around on my lap. The way she was moving was making Demon and I want her. Dirty thoughts started to pop in my head, and I realized I was trying hard not to do anything to her in front of everyone, as Demon was doing the opposite.

“If you don’t stop wiggling around, I will have to bend you over my desk, rip those tight sexy pants off and f**k you hard in front of everyone. You are testing my patience, my love.” I whispered in her ear, making sure it was only loud enough for her to pick up. Her face turned a deep red, as she froze on lap. She was stiff as a board, trying to cover her face from everyone else. I chuckled at my cute little mate and pulled her into me, allowing her to hide her face in the crease of my neck.

“Why did you call this meeting son? It seems as if your mate and you have better things to be doing.” Father asked in amusement, making Sky squirm further into me. If that was even possible.

‘Mate wants us too.’ Demon comments, making me lose focus on what I need to be doing. Demon, you need to be calm for a moment. I need to focus for a little bit, okay? I begged in my mind to keep Demon from sending anymore dirty thoughts my way, at least until we are done in here.

“I needed to talk with everyone about a few things. One, Father will be taking over for Mark for the next two weeks to give him time home with his mate and pup. I know this will be an adjustment and will take some cooperation from everyone, but I am sure we will work through this fine. Second, Mark, I want you to worry about Ariel and your new pup for now and I will fill you in with everything when you come back to work in two weeks, does that work?” I stated as I waited for my response.

“Of course, son.” Father said as he also nodded his head down in respect. I hate it when he does that knowing he was the former King, but I also know he is old school and believes you show respect to the present King no matter age or previous rank.

“Yes Alpha. Thank you.” Mark says as he bows in front of me.

“No need to thank me, my friend. Ariel, Mark and Father you are excused.” I said as the three of them filled out, Mark carrying the pup out with them. As soon as the door shut, I began to speak again. “Mother….” Was all I got out as Sky jumped out of my lap, what the hell just happened?

“Diane, Samantha, I need you two to go track down the oracle and bring her back to me as soon as you possibly can. We also have a party going to be thrown in a month to introduce the new ruler of the werewolf Kingdom. After the oracle is brought to me, begin the preparations.” Sky announced before she looked around and waited for a nod from my mother and Diane. As soon as she got the confirmation she was looking for, she kissed me shortly, before taking off out of the room.

“What the hell was that about?” Ty asked in confusion, looking at the door like his life had just left and was never coming back. I wonder what that was too, but I honestly don’t have a clue. Maybe it has something to do with this morning, but I can’t be certain.

“A month? My grand pup will be here in a month?” Mother exclaimed as I looked loss on what she wanted me to reply with. I honestly don’t remember the doctor giving us a date but maybe it had something to do with her counterparts telling her. I can’t answer what she wants me too without talking to Sky who seemed to have run off somewhere.

“We need to go get started, that’s short notice.” Diane said, distracting my mother from her own question.

“Could I help you guys?” Henry asked as I watched Diane nod in happiness. She grabbed my mother and Henry, as she pulled them out of the room. Hopefully they don’t forget about the oracle first. Sky and I need to talk to her as soon as we can.

“Alright, now that whatever that was is done, could you two take training for me today?” I asked ty and Dean as my mind wandered all over the place. Demon was whining for his mate, and I was too distracted with trying to save all the races than to be able to do all this paperwork piling up.

“I will do the training until Mark is back so that way it is easier on you and Sky.” Ty said with certainty as he stood from his seat. I nodded in acceptance and watched as he left the room.

“Why don’t I start the paperwork and you go find your mate. I will be here when you get back. Did you still want me to make that counsel meeting for you?” Dean asked as he guided me out of my chair.

“Yes, I need to meet with the counsel as soon as they have available.” I stated as Dean nodded in understanding. I walked out of my office, sniffing the air so I could find my mate.

‘She went for a run.’ Demon whined as he scraped in my head to be let out. I guess we are going for a run too, or maybe a chase.

I left the pack house, heading onto the trail in the woods.

‘Let’s shift.’ Demon exclaimed, as he jumped around my mind like a little boy about to get his favorite candy. Sometimes Demon acted as if he was thousands of years old but when it came to running and being with his mate, he was a lost little pup. Alright Demon, I will let you run after her in wolf form, I thought back as I transformed into our wolf.

‘Yes, do you smell that? Mate isn’t too far away.’ Demon exclaimed in excitement. I could feel how happy he was to chase our mate. Before waiting for a response, Demon took off in a sprint, hunting our mate down. I loved the feeling of the wind blowing through our fur and the adrenaline rushing through our body from being in a chase with our mate, even if she doesn’t know we are after her.

‘She sensed us already.’ Demon commented as he dodged a tree, seconds later jumping over a river as he makes a sharp right turn. She must be putting up a chase, or is there another problem she may have encountered?

‘Rogues.’ Demon announced, making my sense tingle to alert. We are chasing Sky, which means the rogues must be with her or after her. No wonder she took a sharp turn like that after running through water. She was trying to confuse them.

‘Mate and pup are in danger.’ Demon panicked, causing my mind to wander. I know she is powerful, but her pregnancy hormones could throw her off. What if she really is in danger and she can’t protect herself or outrun them?

‘Dean, I need back up in the west side, near the borders.’ I mind linked to Dean as I jump into the front reins with Demon. I need to be in control to stop my wandering mind right now.

‘I will send the red team towards your location. Everything alright, Dimitri?’ Dean mind linked back sounding concerned. Why wouldn’t he be when his Alpha and best friend is asking for back up. That doesn’t happen as much as people think. Alpha’s can take on a lot, but I won’t take the chance with my mate being involved.

‘No Dean, I want the black and red team here now. There are approximately twenty rogues that I smell, and they are on the trail of my mate. I think they are after Sky, man. I need anyone and everyone available. The rogues are a mix species, I am sensing witches, vamps and wolves. Why would all three of those kinds be after my mate and on my lands to top it off?’ I questioned back in the mind link. I just don’t understand. Are they after me and targeting my mate for their benefit?

‘They are after the LUNA??? I am on my way, same as the black team and red team. I also notified everyone closest to you guys. Don’t worry.’ Dean mind linked back in a panic, making his words have no help to me at all.

As I lost focus by mind linking Dean, Demon jolted me back as he slammed his paws into the ground, bringing us to a stop. The sight in front of me turning my b***d as all I could see was red.
