Sky’s Rejection Chapter 29

(Sky’s POV)

As I arrived at the Woodland Pack, I looked around in shock. I have been in the territory for over twenty minutes and not once has anyone approached me or even noticed my presence?

I keep walking deeper into the territory. It is weird, but I can’t help but notice how it seems the woods are dying over here. There is not a single soul I have run into yet and it seems too quiet to be a home to werewolves.

Where could everyone be?

‘It is so quiet here.’ Rain said in a whisper, as if she thought it would disturb the peace or something.

‘Why are you whispering? It is not like anyone but us two can hear you.’ Angel sassed as I could just picture her rolling her wolfy eyes at Rain. These two will always be my own personal entertainment.

As I get further into the pack, I seem to stumble upon an abandoned warehouse maybe. The building looks dark inside, as if there is no useful light inside. The outside looks trashed. What could have happened here? As windows are shattered into tiny pieces surrounding the outside. The walls are covered with overgrown weeds and sprayed graffiti litter the painting. Why would an alpha allow this on their land? Why would an alpha not fix this disaster? Who would ever want a building destroyed like this on their territory? Why hasn’t Xander fixed it? Then again we are talking about Xander. I wonder if my brother knows his friend allows his pack to be like this.

‘When has our brother ever paid attention to anything important since our parents died?’ Angel asked in disgust. She thinks we should never forgive him for what he has done and what he has put us through. How he abandoned us and taught us lessons ever since mother and father died.

‘He abused you, Sky, not taught you lessons. Let’s just focus and find our mate’s parents so we can leave.’ Rain said as she sneered at the thought of being here any longer. I don’t blame her, this territory gives me the creeps. I focus my senses on Former King Tyson and Former Queen Samantha’s scents and pull. Angel can tab into mate bonds and track them by their pull. It is pretty awesome, if I say so myself.

‘So…. not to be the downer here, but I sense the former King and Queen.’ Angel said slowly and softly, as if it would change their location. Me too, I sighed in response.

‘Does anyone else think this is a scene out of a horror movie? Listen, I am NOT going to be the girl who walks into a trap.’ Rain said sternly, trying to convince us not to go after the former King and Queen without a back – up plan. We can sense the former King and Queen in the abandoned building. Now, to come up with a plan because, as Rain says, this has to be a trap and why we don’t see anyone around here.

“What if we… ‘ Angel begins to shoot her idea before Rain cuts her off. ‘No, that wouldn’t work.’ Great, now all three of us actually have to agree on an idea too. Hey, guys. I don’t think we have all the time in the world to make a plan before they figure out we are here. I told them sternly. They need to agree and fast.

‘Okay, I have an idea. Just listen for a second, okay Rain?’ Angel said as Rain nodded in encouragement to continue talking. ‘What if we scale the wall and enter from the roof. That way we have the element of surprise and can assess the situation before entering?’

‘I mean that does sound like a solid plan except this building doesn’t have an opening on the roof. We could enter the top floor window and access that way.’ Rain says, Goddess they are actually agreeing for a change.

‘You’re right. Let’s do that.’ Angel responded in agreement. Great, now we have a solid plan we can get going. I walked over to the back wall, as I extended my claws and began climbing the wall, slowly and quietly. I don’t need anyone hearing a noise and checking it out. When I got to the second floor windows, I tried to pull one open but it just wouldn’t budge. Why can’t this just be easy for once? I roll my eyes in annoyance and start scaling the wall sideways as I look for a window that is already busted. When I find it, I slowly pull myself through the window, trying to avoid the glass on the ground.

No noise. Stay quiet.

I walked through the musky smelling room and slowly pulled the door open. I heard a slight creak and I couldn’t do anything but panic.

‘All clear, no movement towards us. I don’t think anyone heard the creak.’ Angel says to calm me down, I am just happy it’s the truth and she didn’t lie to make me feel better.

‘I sense about seventeen heart beats. Two of them should be the former King and Queen, so that leaves fifteen as our enemies.’ Rain told us after she assessed the building for threats. Alright, I continued out of the room and looked around. It is pitch dark in here but I can still see slightly with my wolf eyes. It seems there are fourteen heat sources below me on the first floor. So, where are the other three?

Well, I don’t have to consider that question as long as I feel a large object smash into the back of my head. My vision blurs as I feel warm liquid dripping down my head and onto my back. s**t, they got me good. How did I not sense them next to me?

“Hello mate.” Alpha Xander said with a smirk plastered on his face as if he had won the lottery by seeing me.

f**k. Why did it have to be him? I knew he would be here. I was just hoping I could kill him the first time I saw him.

Angel came forward and growled at him, “WE ARE NOT YOUR MATE.”

“Awe, my little Sky. You will always be my mate and only my mate. Do you understand?” Alpha Xander hissed in my face. I could see the annoyance plastered on his face. He reached his hand out, placing some of my hair behind my ear as he looked at me with a look of determination.

“Where are the former King and Queen, Xander? They have nothing to do with this.” I told him through gritted teeth. I want to kill him, I want to place my hands around his neck and strangle every last breath out of him.

‘Get his nasty hand off us.’ Rain demanded. I could feel her making our b***d boil and I knew I had to do something. So, I quickly raised my hand, as I snapped his wrist within seconds and dropped my arm back to my side before he could notice I even moved.

He growled as I watched his teeth elongate and his face turn red from anger. “Who the f**k did that? Who just broke my wrist?” His voice echoed around the barely occupied building as everyone didn’t dare to move or talk. The two men holding my shoulders are looking around in shock as if they have no idea how it happened. “When I find out who did it, they will die.”

“Really? It was me.” I mocked him, wondering if he would try to kill me or not. If he did, then it would give me another reason to kill him. “Now, release the former King and Queen.”

“Seems someone needs to relearn their place. We are going to have the mating ceremony right now, right here. Do you understand? If you are a good little girl, I will let them go.” Alpha Xander announced with a smug look on his face.

“Fine, just please let the former King and Queen go. Then I will do whatever you want me too.” I begged, I wanted him to think I would give up. After I know they are safe, I will fight my way out. Hopefully, Dimitri figures out my code words soon.

“Alright, have it your way. I have other insurance anyway.” Alpha Xander said, the smile on his face made me realize that I wasn’t at an advantage anymore. As we arrived downstairs, I looked at the room and saw the former King Tyson and former Queen Samantha tied to chairs with a wolfsbane laced robe. As I looked around the room, I realized there were two other chairs with wolves in them. As I got a little closer, I realized it was my brother and…..

My mate.

Dimitri.

“Release the former King and Queen and leave them outside.” Alpha Xander commanded his man and then came close to my ear and whispered, “After the mating ceremony I will kill your fake mate right in front of you as your first mating present, my love.”

‘Let me out. LET ME OUT. I WILL KILL HIM. IF HE TOUCHES OUR MATE HE WILL LIVE TO REGRET IT.’ Angel growls loudly in my head, as I feel her trying to claw her way out. Calm down Angel, we are stronger than him. We can do this. I said to her calmingly so she would stop clawing inside my head. I looked at Dimitri and realized he had a plan. I knew he wouldn’t be captured without a reason.

“Sis, I am so sorry. He told me his plan and I told him to leave you alone. To let it go and let you live your life. I am sorry.” Alpha Henry said with sadness in his words, his head hung in shame as one single tear fell on to his lap.
