Sky's Rejection
Sky’s Rejection Chapter 28

(Royal Alpha Dimitri’s POV)

I am at my parents’ cabin, looking for any clue at all to where they have been taken. I know they didn’t just leave because their cabin is trashed and there are resistance marks on the walls and floor. I just hope they aren’t hurt, I won’t lose them and I will kill anyone who thought it was okay to take them from me. There are no scents lingering, not even my parents. Telling me they used a scent cover perfume while they were in here. That doesn’t narrow anything down for me.

“High Alpha Ty, could you please ask Sky to come help us? She obviously has a great tracking bone in her, especially the way she knows every move of the rogues and traitors in my pack.” I asked as I kept looking for clues.

‘You just want to see, mate.’ Demon says in a mocking tone. Are you complaining because I can tell him to leave her so you don’t get to see or hear from her at all? Not to mention sniff up her scent. I thought back to him.

‘No, no, no. I am sorry.’ Demon whines as he backs up in my mind and whimpers, as if I would really do that. One, I need her help and second, I want to see her too.

“Of course Royal Alpha Dimitri. I will go get her now.” High Alpha Ty said with a slight bow of his head. Yes, I will be seeing Sky soon. Damn it, stay focused. I shake my head to get the thoughts of my mate out of my head. I focus my mind and my vision back on the task at hand.

“Have you figured out anything yet?” I asked my beta, Dean, who had just come back from looking for clues on the outside of the cabin and as far into the woods they could find struggle.

“No Alpha, there were signs of struggle but no scent, no b***d, no footprints and no sense of direction they were heading. I am sorry.” Dean said with his head down. He was just as close to my parents as I was. My father’s beta died when Dean was only a few years old. So my father and mother took him in, raising him into the perfect royal beta for the pack. We became closer as time went by.

“Gamma Mark?” I asked, hoping to hear anything at all that we could lead from. I need to find them before they are hurt.

“The only thing I found was a piece of one of their shirts that was torn off. There is no scent to it though, so I don’t know how helpful that will be.” My gamma, Mark said, as he handed me the piece of shirt. s**t, there is nothing here. How am I going to be able to find my parents? I kicked the table, causing the wooden thing to splinter into shards and spread across the dining room. f**k.

Ty returned with no Sky. What the hell? “Don’t tell me Sky is missing too?” I asked in a slight panic, but I kept calm on the outside.

“What? No. Goddess no. She asked to be given a few minutes to change and then she would be to the cabin in no time.” Ty said , making me breathe a sigh of relief. I don’t know what I would do if my parents and mate were missing.

I feel a push on my mind and pray it is my mother or father trying to link me. I open up my mind and wait to hear from who ever it is. ‘Dimitri? Don’t speak, just listen. Your parents are going to be safe. I promise. I am sorry it has to be this way, but I can’t be your mate. I already have one. Please move on and be happy.’ Sky linked to me before closing off our connection and I can’t feel her on my pack grounds anymore. She is gone. I lost my mate, my father and my mother all in one day.

I went off running as fast as I could, straight to the pack house. I sprinted up the stairs because the elevator was taking too long to come to my floor and headed straight to Sky’s bedroom. I barge in, hoping to hear a gasp or scream from me coming into her room and her space without permission, but I don’t. Complete silence consumes me. Her scent calms me slightly, but all I hear is my wolf whimpering and howling for our mate in my head. f**k.

She is gone.

My mate is gone.

My mother is missing.

My father is missing.

What the f**k is going on?

I turned quickly towards the door, as I heard footsteps stomping towards the entrance of the room and panting.

‘Mate. Is that mate?’ Demon asks as he perks up in my mind. I find myself hoping for the same thing, wishing my wolf to be right in this instance. We need our mate and I don’t care what I have to do to get her back.

“What is … going o.. on?” Dean pants in question as he tries to catch up with his breathing from running after me. It isn’t Sky. I try to keep the disappointment off my face but I know he sees it because of the pity look he shoots at me.

“Is everyone okay? Did someone else get kidnapped?” Mark asked as he barged into the room after Dean. He tumbles into Dean and I watch as they both face plant onto the ground. I want to laugh, but at the same time, I feel like I am missing a part of me, even if we barely spent time together. Just being around each other was slowly making our bond tighter and tighter with each other. Making it extremely painful to just know she wants someone else.

“Why did we all run to Sky’s room?” High Alpha Ty asked in confusion as he looked around the room. I wonder if he knew Sky was leaving me? I wonder if he helped her escape?

‘If he helped her escape I will rip him apart.’ Demon growls in my head. I could feel his anger building up as he pushed forward, trying to take over and, at that point, maybe I should just let him take over. What do I have to lose? My parents are gone, my mate is gone. I feel empty. She left me for someone else and didn’t even feel remorse. Everything she said was emotionless. No emotion at all.

“Dimitri, Demon calm down,” Dean said carefully, as he slowly gets up from the ground and sticks his hand out as if he is dealing with a disobedient dog which only pisses Demon off more as he growls at him and I can’t stifle it from coming out this time.

“Where is Sky? She should be able to calm the royal alpha’s wolf down.” High Alpha Ty asked in a panic. I watched as he looked around for her. Making Demon and I realize that he didn’t know about Sky leaving and he didn’t help her either, calming him slightly down.

“SHE’S GONE.” I growled, my voice fused with Demons as we both sat in the front seat of my mind together. I could feel my eyes flashing.

“Gone?” Dean questioned in shock, as if he couldn’t believe she would have left.

“What do you mean?” Mark asked. I watched as he linked to someone, knowing it was probably Ariel. Why wouldn’t she have said good – bye? At least to Ariel and Ty. She is close to them.

“Where did she go?” I watched as Ty paced the room. Fear, panic and horror crossed his face. I watched as he blanked out, his eyes hazing out as he tried to link her over and over again. I watched as he looked like he had aged a hundred years right in front of my eyes. After trying everything, he fell into the arm – chair as his head fell into his hands and he sighed. He began to mumble and I began to worry that he may be having a psychotic break from this event. “Where could she have gone? Did he get to her? No, Goddess, no. Please watch over her. Please make sure they haven’t found her. They will surely kill her this time. Guide me to her Goddess. I can’t lose her. I can’t allow something like this to happen again.”

Death. Taken. Again.

What the f**k is going on?

Dean sprinted into action, pulling a shirt out of the dresser and throwing it into my arms. The smell of my mate’s skin engulfed my senses and had Demon calming down as he laid down back in my mind. Still listening but humming in content. “Everyone leave, I need a minute to think.”

Dean and Mark bowed slightly before they exited the room and shut Sky’s door. I looked over at Ty and saw him lost in thought as tears fell down his face. I should probably leave him alone for now. Though if his sobs begin to get loud, I will need him out. A single tear slipped from my eye as I quickly wiped it away.

When everyone left the bedroom, except Ty, I sat down on Sky’s bed as her scent wafted around me. I sighed in exhaustion and fear. Fear of losing my one and only mate. Fear of never seeing her beautiful violet eyes. Fear of never hearing her attitude laced voice again. The funny part is, I was always told growing up, Alpha, don’t fear anything, and Royal Alpha has to be an example to all the rest of the Alphas. Knowing my mate is out there and I just may never get the chance to hold her in my arms, tell her I love her and finally mark her, scares the living hell out of me. I place her shirt up to my nose, closing my eyes and taking a long sniff of it. I miss her prescense. She kept my wolf and I calm even if she didn’t know it.

“What is that?” Ty asked as he walked over to me and tried to take the shirt out of my hands. I growled and hid it behind my back.

“Mine. Mates.” I growled.

Ty rolled his eyes as he pointed towards my front jeans pocket, “No that. What is that Royal Alpha Dimitri?” I looked down and pulled out the piece of shirt left at my parent’s cabin. s**t, that is what I am supposed to be doing. “Can I see?”

Before I can answer, he rips the fabric from my hands. Why did he just do that?

“s**t, Did she leave a note? How did you know she left?” Ty asked as he looked straight at me. What has he figured out?

” She mind linked to me before she left my pack boarders, then I felt her cross over.” I said, as I heard Demon whimper from thinking about that again.

“What did she say?” Ty asked as he looked at me in wonder, his piercing gaze freaking me out a little. Maybe he finally snapped.

“She said and I quoted, ‘Dimitri? Don’t speak, just listen. Your parents are going to be safe. I promise. I am sorry it has to be this way, but I can’t be your mate. I already have one. Please move on and be happy.’ Then, just like that, I lost my parents and my mate on the same day.” s**t, why did I say that?

“It all makes sense now. She was forced to leave to save your parents. She left her phone, left her clothes, sent you a link and this piece of fabric is from her ex – mates’ pack. s**t. s**t. Shit.” Ty whispered to himself but I heard him, as he paced the room and was looking through Sky’s phone.

“What?” I asked impatiently as I stared at him as if trying to read his mind. I just want to know what is happening and where they have all gone.

“She has gone to the Woodland Pack. Alpha Xander has your parents and is threatening all of Sky’s loved ones’ lives because he wants her back. Probably to torture her. When he realizes what she is he may want more.” Ty said with all seriousness as he looked up from the phone and stared directly at me. Demon jumped up in my mind on high alert and I began to realize the severity of the situation. The Woodland Pack is involved with the traitors and rogues. She could be in a lot of danger. We have to hurry and save them.

“We have to go get them.” I said as I rushed out the room and, I mind linked to everyone I would need to go with me that I need them to meet me in front of the pack house. I am coming Sky just keep my parents and you alive long enough for me to get there and save you.
