Seven Years of Marriage with Jake -
Chapter 22
Book 2- Chapter 13
After packing a simple bag, I boarded the bus back to my hometown.
After five and a half bumpy hours, I finally arrived home.
"Dad! Mom! I'm back!"
Mom came out when she heard my voice, took my luggage, and kept looking behind me.
"Don't look, Ethan didn't come," I said, holding my mom's hand as we went inside.
The house was still the same, a commercial property in the small town, with a shop on the first floor and living quarters on the second.
My parents used to work out of town, but two years ago when mom's health declined, they returned to open a small shop, while dad did some carpentry work nearby. "Ava, why are you back alone when it's not a holiday?" mom asked.
"I missed you!" I hugged mom and acted coquettishly.
"You child!" Mom tapped my forehead, "Something must have happened, right?"
A mother knows her daughter best, so I didn't plan to hide it:
"Mom, I'll tell you and dad together when he gets back."
