Chapter 974

Anne nodded.

Anthony pulled her closer and turned on the lights.

Don't be afraid. I'm right here. Everything is fine now.”

Anne sobered slightly and retreated from his arms. “I... I want to see the kids.”

“They are asleep. You can see them tomorrow morning.”

Anne could not find a reason to insist on seeing the children at the moment, and Anthony forced her to lay down in his arms once again.

“This isn't a cell. It's your room.”

Anne curled up in his arms wordlessly.

He scowled and narrowed his eyes darkly, wondering if he had made the wrong choice in leaving her alone in the lockup. However, that was the best solution to the situation at the time.

He tightened his arms around her.

Anthony could understand that she had not fully recovered since she had just gotten out.

“She will get better tomorrow,” he thought.

Bianca remained in the interrogation room. Marco questioned her until past midnight and had one of his colleagues take his place before arriving back to the trial room the next morning.

He yawned when he entered the room from exhaustion: He had merely rested for two hours, and that was hardly sufficient.

Bianca was still in her seat and was leaning against the table, asleep.

Marco kicked at the table. “Wake up!"

Startled awake, Bianca looked up at him. “Can 1 go now?”

“No.” Marco sat down on the chair and was dissatisfied with the report from the questioning session the night before. “Is there any other accomplice other than you and Lilian?"

"Accomplice?!" Bianca felt as though she was going insane. She had never been as exhausted and discomfited. Her throat felt dry, as though it was on fire. “I told you that I haven't even come into contact with Lilian that many times. Maybe three or four times at most. I have no idea what she was up to! I want to see Anthony. If he finds out that you are keeping me in here, he is definitely going to come to get me out! I'm his fiance!”

“Do you know if Lilian has met with other people?” Marco asked.

“I don't know... How many times must I repeat that?” she muttered helplessly.

"You need to cooperate.”

“I am cooperating!”

“Do Lilian and Tommy Marwood know each other?”

Surprised, she asked, “Tommy Marwood? Why him?”

Another police officer walked in and said something to Marco.

Marco got up to leave.

"Hey! When can I leave?” Bianca shouted anxiously.

Marco simply ignored her and went outside to the trial room next door, where Tommy was seated. Tommy stared at the man who walked in coldly. He had never been in such a position in his entire life, as no one would dare to do such a thing to someone of the Marwood Family.

Marco sat down and said righteously, “Mr. Marwood, I've gone through your background. I know how powerful the Marwood Family is here, but none of that matters to me.”

"Who are you?” Tommy asked carelessly.

“My name is Marco York. I'm in charge of the murder of Dorothy Faye. Do you know this person?” Marco showed Tammy a photo.

“ldo.”

"What's the nature of your relationship?”

"Just distant friends. What's the problem?” Tommy appeared to be at ease, as though he was merely sitting on the couch at home.

“She called you when she was on the run. Why? Are you in on the murder of Dorothy Faye?”

"No."

"Why did she call you, then?”

"You can ask her on your own if you want to know that.”

“She's dead.”
