Chapter 973

She always felt that her body was filthy.

Halfway through the shower, she felt someone approaching her from behind and then hugged her, his deep husky voice whispering into her ears. “Let me help you.”

Anne's eyes, filled with water vapor, shuddered slightly.

“Are you blaming me?” Anthony's thick palm brushed over her body while he asked.

“No, you went to find the murderer.”

She was in no position to blame him, not at all.

Anthony was willing to marry her because of the kids, and she should not complain anymore.

He turned her to face Anthony, making her feel like she had nothing left to be seen.

“Really?” Anthony asked.

"Yes, I trust you.” Anne nodded gently.

“Look at me.” Anthony lifted her chin.

Anne had to look into his bottomless dark eyes, which made her pupils constricted. She did not dare to stare into him for too long.

Anthony touched her face gently and said, “Sleep tight tonight, and everything will be fine tomorrow.”

Anne wanted to nod but realized he was still holding her chin, so she could only say a soft yes. “Don’t worry. I will not let you get hurt.” Anthony's dark eyes looked at her.

Anne bit her lips as though she wanted to say something.

"What do you want to ask?”

"Why... Why did you marry me?” Anne asked.

She knew the answer, but she just had to ask.

She immediately regretted it as soon as she asked.

Anthony did not expect her to ask that. Why did he marry her?

What was the reason?

He was feeling flustered again under his deep facade, and he did not seem to be willing to answer the question.

He knew his intention back then was to control Anne, who had lost her memory, so that she could stay by his side obediently.

As long as she was by his side, he did not have to think more about it.

He had always treated Anne this way.

“Nothing, I am just asking.” Anne noticed that Anthony was looking at her quietly, and her heart sank. “I am done showering, I will go out now.”

She pulled the towel from the side and wiped her body, then put on her pajamas and went out, Anthony stood in front of the shower, and the feeling of frustration grew more intense.

Why did Anne ask that? Did she notice something?

Then, he took a quick shower and went out.

Anne was already fast asleep in bed.

Anthony strode over and snuck under the duvet.

Anne turned her body slightly, and one of her hands was placed quietly on the pillow next to her face. Her eyes were closed, and her face was angelic.

Anthony reached his arm out and pulled her in.

Anne opened her eyes as though she was shocked and then said, “Good night.

"Good night, I am here.” Anthony supported his head with one hand on the pillow and looked at her.

Anne did not say anything, and she did not push Anthony away either. She just closed her eyes obediently.

Anthony's fingers caressed her smooth face, and he watched as she fell asleep.

She almost looked the same as before.

However, that night, Anne still woke up in the middle of the night.

She opened her eyes and looked around. The feeling of being detained was still fresh in her mind "Anne? Why are you awake?” Anthony immediately noticed as soon as Anne moved. He wiped her forehead to find it was full of sweat. “Did you have a bad dream?”
