Chapter 967

Tommy knew from a long time ago that Anthony liked Bianca, even if he was manipulating Anne. However, did he not cancel his engagement with Bianca because of Anne?

“I feel guilty toward Bianca.” Anthony held the teacup in his hand and took a sip, his dark eyes keeping his emotions tucked away. “I will pull my strings to make sure she is alive. She would, at most, be jailed for five years, and if she performed well, she would be released in a year or two. I will wait for her.”

Tommy did not expect him to plan for this, and his expression went cold. “Do you really think she killed her? How would it be possible for Anne to kill someone?”

“She had threatened Bianca with a knife before. Did you know about that?” Anthony asked him. Of course, Tommy did not know about it.

"If 1 did not show up that time, Bianca could have been killed by her. I had punished her before, but she repeated the offense! The witness and evidence are all leading up to her. There is no second possibility.” Anthony's expression was cold.

"However, I think things are...” Tommy wanted to rebut but was interjected by Anthony.

“Don’t say anything more. I have asked the police to look into this. You take care of yourself and don't mess things up,” Anthony said, placed down his teacup, and then walked to the kids.

He kicked the ball.

The triplets then ran to chase the ball.

Tommy felt flustered. He held his anger and left.

His car sped on the road, and he kept thinking that it was not possible.

How could Anne kill someone? She lost her memory. Why would she want to kill? Why?

If it was not her, then who would it be...

He pulled the car to a halt by the roadside.

Tommy recalled someone, Lilian.

He took out his phone and called Lilian, “Are you in Luton?”

"Yes, I am home. What's up?”

“Is Dorothy's death related to you? Tell me the truth!” Tommy kept his voice hushed. Otherwise, he would be shouting uncontrollably.

“Me? Why would it have anything to do with me? Didn't they capture the murderer already? It is Anne!” Lilian said.

"She would not be brave enough for this!”

“Tommy, people lose their sh*t when they are mad. I heard from the neighbors around that area that Anne had a physical fight with Dorothy, then Dorothy fell from the fifth floor.”

"Did you go there?”

“No, I also only knew about it from the internet. I did not have any reason to kill Dorothy. It would be even less probable for me to frame Anne with this. Anthony is powerful, and it would be a piece of cake for him to bail Anne. Then my efforts will all be in vain,” Lilian said.

“The point is Anthony is not intending to step in.

“Why?”

“Perhaps he could not explain it to Bianca! After all, it seemed that Anne is the murderer so far.” After the phone call, Lilian sat on the balcony and sipped on the coffee. It tasted extra good.

Now she only needed to wait for the good news of Anne being convicted.

Anne had been detained for over 48 hours, and they did not find any other evidence.

After 48 hours, she was held for another two days before Marco appeared.

Anne, who was curled in one corner, turned her face around. She could not keep her hopes up anymore.

She understood that she could not run away from the conviction since Anthony's absence.

She killed Bianca's mother, and Anthony's actions had already explained everything...

The metal door was opened. Marco walked into the holding cell, looked at Anne, and said, “The court will take over the case. You will be transferred to the detention center now, and wait for the trial.”

Anne looked up and watched him numbly, saying, “I... I did not kill her...”

“I hope that you can come clean so that the court can give you a lighter sentence.”

Anne wondered if the lighter sentence meant she was exempted from the death sentence.

Anne walked out of the holding cell and stood before the custody car. Anthony still had not shown up.
