Chapter 960
His superior immediately came pulling him. “Stop right there...”
Marco was not budged. “I am sorry, I am just carrying out my duty. I will not let go of or accuse anyone.”
Anthony was not annoyed, but he laughed. “Marco York, is it?"
Marco was engulfed by his strong aura, but his stern face remained fearless. “Yes, I hope you don't make it difficult for me either. Plus, I just found out that the deceased, Dorothy Faye's daughter, is also acquainted with you. It is better for me to investigate this further, don't you think?”
“Difficult?” Anthony turned and walked to Anne, then sat on the chair that Ivan moved over next to Anne. He crossed his long legs and said, “Then please carry out the interrogation. I would like to know as well who killed Dorothy Faye.”
Anne saw Anthony's side profile, and her heart sank.
She was initially not as terrified anymore when she saw him. However, that was no longer the case after he said that last sentence.
“Mr. Marwood, this is not in compliance,” Marco said.
“I am the compliance here.” Anthony's dark eyes intensified.
Marco's superior was pissed. He nudged Marco and said in a hushed voice, “Quick, ask whatever you want. Are you trying to get us all killed?”
Marco had no choice but to carry out the interrogation.
On the flip side, this was good so that the people who attempted to cover things up could not have anything to say in front of him!
"What was your relationship with Dorothy Faye back then?” Marco asked after he sat down. Relationship? Anne could not help but look at Anthony on the side.
“Don't be scared.” Anthony used his gaze to comfort her.
Anne pursed her lips, then said, “I lost my memory. I could not recall...”
“From the heated argument you just had with her, it seemed that not only did you not have a good relationship with her, but it was a very terrible one. Do you know why?” Marco asked again.
Anne knew the reason. The reason was next to her.
“Inspector, she said she lost her memory. Can't you understand?” Anthony said with a cold voice. Marco held it in. How was he supposed to conduct the interrogation this way?
There was a knock on the door, and Marco's staff came in then passed some documents to him. “These are the results of the testing from the Forensic Department.”
Marco flipped and ran through it, his eyes stern. “Ms. Anne Vallois, your fingerprints are found on the knife that stabbed into Dorothy's back. What else do you have to explain?”
“She went to the kitchen and stuffed the knife into my hand! I dropped the knife and ran away. I did not kill her!” Anne said.
"Why would she stuff a knife in your hand? Do you think that makes sense? And, there are only your and Dorothy's fingerprints at the scene. There is no third person. I believe no one would stab a knife right into their own back!” Marco asked.
“Did you find Dorothy's fingerprint?” Anthony asked.
"Yes."
“If yes, then what Anne said is true,” Anthony said.
“Nevertheless, this does not eliminate the possibility of Ms. Anne Vallois hurting her and running away. Now, the witness and the evidence are all pointing to Ms. Vallois. I am sorry, we have to detain her, and if there are no other suspects within 48 hours, we will have to hand this over to the court,” Marco said.
That basically meant being sentenced to death.
Anne was so shocked that her face went completely pale, and her tears rolled down. “I did not kill her... I did not..."
There was a knock on the door again. It opened, and it was Anthony's bodyguard.
Ivan went over, the bodyguard told him something, and then he returned. He held his head low and said, “Mr. Marwood, Ms. Faye is here..."
