My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup -
Chapter 1654
Chapter 1654 Seeking Apology!
For Sally, severing all connections with Jessica yesterday felt like finally freeing herself from the constraints that had held her back for a long time.
Now, she felt renewed and unafraid, prepared to confront any challenges.
After a while, Sylas, Lucas, and Noah had shed their initial superiority in the front hall.
After the wedding concluded yesterday, Elijah handed Jessica to Sylas. Alongside them, he also provided the video that Jessica planned to use to damage Sally's reputation by bribing the staff to play it. Sylas, Lucas, and Noah were taken aback. They initially wanted to explain things to Elijah immediately.
However, to their surprise, Elijah avoided them and declined their attendance at the evening party held at the estate.
Last night, dignitaries and the elite who knew Sylas were present everywhere. He chose not to show up, fearing that it might be noticed that he wasn't in a good relationship with his newly-wedded son-in-law. After tossing and turning throughout the night, Sylas immediately went to find Sally with Lucas, Noah, and Jessica as dawn broke.
"When you see Sally later, apologize and find a way to earn her forgiveness."
As Sally arrived at the doorway, she overheard Sylas berating them.
Following that, there was Noah's voice, the one who used to bully Sally, "I never expected Jessica to be like this. She knew the current situation of the Campbell family. We needed Elijah and Sally's support, yet she wanted to sabotage the wedding. Wasn't this cutting off our chances as the Campbell family?"
Sally unconsciously furrowed her brows and then pushed to enter.
The four of them in the front hall immediately turned to look at her.
Sally's gaze landed on Jessica, who was still wearing the same outfit from yesterday. Her cheeks were swollen on both sides.
It was clear that Sylas had slapped her after taking her away.
Sally only glanced at her before shifting her gaze away.
"Sally, it's good to see you finally!" Sylas hastened over, reaching to shake Sally's hand.
Elijah was unaware of Sally's past experiences.
Though he didn't exactly hold a fond opinion of Sylas, he maintained the expected level of politeness when dealing with Sally's father.
However, his attitude wouldn't be optimistic at this point. "Let's hear what you have to say," Elijah pulled Sally close, deftly avoiding Sylas's extended hand.
Sylas's hand hung awkwardly, his expression turning undeniably uncomfortable.
"Elijah, Sally, we're family. Let's cut to the chase," Sylas cleared his throat and took on the authoritative demeanor of a father. "I've learned about what Jessica did yesterday. She behaved in a thoroughly disgraceful manner!"
Sally remained silent, walking over to the sofa and taking a seat.
Seeing this, Sylas unconsciously furrowed.
In the past, he might have criticized her for being so rude.
"Why are you standing there? What did you say when you left the house?" Sylas redirected his anger toward Jessica, glaring at her from the side. "Hurry up and apologize to Sally!"
"No need," Sally's tone was indifferent, "I already mentioned yesterday that I won't be accepting any apologies. Dad, if your intention to come here today was to cleanse your guilt in this matter somehow, there's no need to waste your time. Just go back. Jessica never showed me mercy before, so that I won't grant her any either."
"She's still your sister, after all. If news of this gets to the West family, Jessica's life won't be easy," Sylas stated, his expression grim as Sally could sense he was struggling to contain his anger.
"Yesterday was mine and Elijah's wedding. The guests included not only the Patterson family but also numerous dignitaries. If this video were to be leaked, it would hurt Elijah for the rest of his life. How can you even bring up the West family?" Sally interjected loudly, cutting off Sylas before he could finish his sentence.
