Chapter 1593 He Was a Monk!

A gentle voice came from behind.

Sally quickly snapped back to reality.

A big hand with an emerald ring gently touched her slender shoulder. It brought comfort to her.

"Everything's set for the pre-wedding party," Sally smiled at him.

"But why aren't you happy?" Elijah sat down across from her.

Elijah was 6 feet tall. He liked going to the gym. He had broad shoulders and a narrow waist.

Elijah appeared even more attractive than in his pictures, but his behavior seemed aloof.

It seemed like he wasn't interested in ordinary tasks.

What stood out was that despite his unique vibe, he had a prayer beads bracelet on his wrist.

"Okay, let me just say it," Sally sighed, "Gideon is on his way to Willowbrook City."

Elijah nodded. "He's rushing in for the wedding?"

"He won't succeed," Sally said with confidence. Then she hesitated. "Gideon and his rich friends can be tricky. I'm worried..." "Don't worry." Elijah shook his head. "He won't be able to do much."

"Are you sure?" Sally was still worried.

Elijah replied confidently, "I'm sure."

Sally's mood improved when Elijah met her gaze.

She laughed at herself after a moment. "Look at me, all nervous. Perhaps his visit does not intend to create any issues."

She knew she held significance to Gideon, but she wasn't his top priority.

The values of family, honor, pride, and many other things came before her.

From the first time they met until now. She finally woke up after dreaming for sixteen long years.

"No matter what his intentions are, the fact remains that we are legally married, and that cannot be changed," Elijah spoke calmly before glancing at the bridal catalog before her. "Haven't you made your choice yet?"

"It's all your fault. Where did you find these few dresses that fit me so well?" Sally's attention was quickly redirected. "My friend suggested that we discuss it. What do you think of a four-day wedding, where each day features a different dress?"

Elijah chuckled. His shoulders trembled slightly, and he nodded. "If you're up for the challenge, let's plan a four-day wedding!" "But that's not acceptable!" Sally immediately shook her head. "A wedding is a big deal. How can we be so hasty and casual?" What good could come from marriage for those who didn't respect weddings? That was what her mother used to say. "Let's put that debate aside for another day. Come on. Let's go eat." Elijah stood up and reached out his hand to Sally.

Sally reached out. Their hands clasped together.

Sally had met Elijah as early as ten years ago.

The Patterson family was in the medicine business. They had some interactions with the Campbell family.

Her father used not to treat her the way he did now.

During that period, Elijah's sister had taken over the household management. Her son was approximately the same age as Sally. Early on, her father intended to bring the two together.

Ten years ago, her father found a reason to send her to the Patterson Manor during a scorching summer.

There, she met Elijah.

Interestingly, Elijah was sporting a bald head and dressed in a monk's attire when she first met him. He was a monk!

The following day, she once again encountered Elijah near the swimming pool.

Elijah rescued her from drowning in the pool. She was about to pass out, but Elijah performed CPR to save her.

When she regained consciousness, Elijah was already gone.
