"I am the eldest, after all. I should be a bit different!" Mia remarked, pressing her cheek against Evie's abdomen once more.

To her surprise, she felt a light kick from the baby inside.

"The baby kicked!" An elated Mia shouted.

"She's been moving a lot lately, just not when you're around," Evie said, boasting a bit.

Mia placed her cheek against the abdomen again, sensing another nudge.

"Do you think she's saying hello to me?" Mia's eyes glinted with amazement, her first time connecting with an unborn baby.

She had never thought such an experience would be this magical.

"Of course she is!" Evie responded, turning her gaze to Aiden. "Son, would you like to listen too?"

Aiden hesitated for a moment but eventually descended the stairs.

As Evie reached out to grasp his hand, Aiden glanced at Evie, then cautiously pressed his ear against her abdomen.

Immediately, he distinctly felt something roll beneath his cheek.

Aiden's captivating eyes lit up, filled with astonishment and wonder.

After Evie became pregnant, Aiden watched animated videos illustrating the entire process of an embryo growing into a baby.

Yet, experiencing it so up close was an entirely awe-inspiring experience for him.

"What do you think?" Evie asked, her eyes glistening.

"It's... It's amazing," he answered.

Truly, Aiden was engulfed in happiness, the unique joy of forging a bond with a soon-to-be family member.

Upon hearing him, Evie, with the heightened emotions of an expectant mother, felt her eyes tear up, and her lips quiver. "Aiden, can you promise me something?" She asked. "Absolutely," Aiden agreed right away.

"Aiden, you should wait for Evie to say what it is before agreeing. Otherwise, you're making it easy for someone to take advantage," Mia warned playfully.

Evie chuckled through tears and thought, "The one who truly knows me is my precious Mia!"

Evie's eyes glistened as she said, "How about I stop being your godmother?" She paused and added, "If my baby is a girl, how about you become my son-in-law in the future?" "Evie!" Athena responded with a tone that mixed exasperation and warning.

Aiden was momentarily lost for words.

Mia was baffled at first, but her eyes gradually shone with excitement.

Mia's smile momentarily froze before she replied politely, "Sorry, but I'm set on choosing who I love."

Wearing a playful grin, Athena interjected, "And Aiden doesn't have that freedom, Mia?"

Mia murmured, "Mommy, you just don't get it. Dad does, though! Right, Dad, you get me?"

And just like that, Byron found himself under the spotlight.

"Dad knows what you're talking about?" Athena asked, looking at Byron with a curious expression.

Byron nodded slowly. "I guess I kind of get it?"

"He does!" Mia asserted, cementing her viewpoint.

With a hint of annoyance, Aiden remarked, "You all can be so tiresome. It doesn't matter if it's a younger brother or sister. It's not your place as adults to decide their marital future. We're in a new era now. Don't hold onto outdated ideas about arranged marriages. It's not right."
