Chapter 1550 Sever Ties With Stella Group!

"It's just not fair!" Tears streamed down Lucia's face as she nestled into Kunce's arms. "Why is it that when Byron and Athena are the ones who did wrong, fate keeps giving them miracles, saving them from the brink of death time and time again? My daughter barely did anything wrong. She was just a little too stubborn. Why did she have to suffer so much? Why was she the one that died."

Kunce was deeply pained by what he heard.

For the years he had brought Lucia by his side, Kunce constantly sought ways to lift her spirits. As the days passed, Lucia's well-being seemed to improve.

However, in the six months following Heather's death, he had to step up his efforts further.

He showered Lucia with flowers daily, buying dazzling diamonds and exquisite jewelry, and even enlisted top chefs worldwide to cater to her tastes.

However, Lucia appeared to be a flower at the end of its bloom, withering no matter how hard Kunce tried to nurture her.

"It's my fault," Kunce murmured, laden with guilt. "Had I been more powerful than Imbe Group and Stella Group combined, you wouldn't have had to suffer like this."

He pondered, "In the end, wasn't it because I wasn't powerful enough?

If I had the might, would the successor of Stella Group have had the audacity to ask me, 'Do you know who you're speaking to?'

She underestimated me.

But... did she truly believe I was that easy to push around?"

Taking a deep breath, Kunce continued to ponder, "Such youthful arrogance, always belittling others.

Thinking I'd be lost without Stella Group!

This round, even if it weren't for Lucia's sake, I'd prove to that cocky kid what my reputation was across the foreign country."

"Stop crying, Lucia." Kunce gently wiped away Lucia's tears. "No one can separate you from me. So what if we are on bad terms with Stella Group? I've already anticipated it. Trust me. I know what I'm doing." "Kunce, you don't have to do this for me. It's not worth it," Lucia said, her voice choked with emotion. "I've grown old, and every day my health worsens. I might not have long. Just let me go to Rose. If Cindy's still alive, I could try to get her back..."

When Cindy was brought up, Lucia choked back tears.

"Cindy was just a child. I only considered sending her after Athena because she was the top assassin. If I'd known, she'd get caught. I would never let her go!" She exclaimed.

"You are Cindy's leader. That meant your orders were paramount to her, even above her life. Don't blame yourself. Had you not chosen Cindy back then, taking her under your wings, she might've died on some mission, lost and forgotten," Kunce reassured gently.

Lucia didn't respond, her face still etched with sorrow.

After Kunce consoled her, she hesitated before asking, "Are you going to sever ties with Stella Group? I heard when you returned it was Rose who intervened to calm the chaos within the gang... Doesn't that mean she has some influence here?"

"Influence?" Kunce scoffed. "That was almost forty years ago. The technological advancements since then are like night and day. Sure, Rose built a big business, and we, in these isolated places, naturally needed her help. However, times have changed, and she's grown old. This country has evolved. People only address her as Madam Stella out of respect, but not many will rally behind an aging figure if tensions rise."

Kunce hadn't said these things merely to comfort Lucia.

Ever since the news of Heather's death broke, Lucia had sensed that a fallout with Stella Group was inevitable.

Hence, she had diligently looked into the matter.
