Chapter 1534 Code Name Cindy

Julian regarded Athena with a mixture of belief and doubt.

Then, he seized the document and quickly delved into its contents.

Nestled within the file was a photograph that bore an uncanny resemblance to his girlfriend.

However, his girlfriend emanated gentleness and allure.

The woman in the photo rocked a buzz cut, her face oozing ferocity. Her once serene eyes exuded a venomous and sinister intensity.

Julian's hands, which had already begun to produce some old age spots, began to tremble.

He flipped through the document, exposing the life of a female assassin raised overseas.

Initiating missions at just six years old, she had risen to prominence by fourteen, earning recognition among her peers. She had then transitioned into becoming the personal bodyguard for the leader's wife, enforcing her commands.

The next page displayed the hit list of the female assassin, along with cases celebrated among her colleagues.

"This can't be true. Do you believe a few flimsy papers can come between Nia and me? Impossible!" Julian flung the sheets at Athena.

The lightweight papers floated through the air, dispersing without even grazing Athena's vicinity.

Athena remained composed, unfazed.

Her demeanor showed no irritation.

"Since a couple of papers won't convince you, should I have her speak to you herself?" Athena's words flowed effortlessly as she pulled out her phone and dispatched a voice message, saying, "Bring her in." Julian quivered throughout.

"Athena, you've truly outsmarted me!"

"Certainly," Athena replied calmly, twirling a gemstone ring on her finger.

Julian seethed, the sensation aching in his chest. Yet, he couldn't escape the replay of the horrifying cases he had just glimpsed.

Graphic descriptions of disembowelment and beheadings made him physically sick.

Lost in his thoughts, footsteps resonated from the exterior.

Julian's gaze immediately swung toward the door.

Soon, Martin and Dorian entered, carrying a woman bound and gagged.

At a glance, Julian recognized her. Wasn't that his delicate girlfriend, Nia? The girl who could barely carry a shoulder bag and was as delicate as a vase?

"Nia!"

Julian exclaimed.

His impulse was to dash forward, but gruesome images of those deaths filled his mind again.

Added to that, Martin and Dorian appeared quite menacing.

Consequently, Julian remained rooted in place after that single outcry.

Martin removed the tape from Nia's mouth.

Nia's hands were wrenched behind her back, her feet bound round and round with rope as if they were afraid to give her the slightest chance to struggle, for she could kill a man that way. "Cindy, I've heard stories of your reputation for quite a while. A pleasure to meet you face-to-face. You're much lovelier than I anticipated." Athena addressed Nia by Nia's alias as an executioner. Yes, Cindy.

The infamous name in assassin circles.

"If your security had been a tad weaker, we could've crossed paths earlier, Ms. Stella!" Cindy's gaze fixated onto Athena, akin to a serpent honing in on its prey.

"I apologize for being too adept and disappointing you," Athena responded with a slight head tilt. "I overheard Julian mentioning that you're carrying his child?"

At the mention of a child, Julian abruptly snapped back to reality.

Hastily, he positioned himself in front of Cindy, obstructing Athena's line of sight. "Enough! Those matters have nothing to do with her. If you're seeking confrontation, confront me!"
