Chapter 1520 Almost Time

After all, it was its favorite dog snack.

Herbert let out a couple of excited barks, drooling at the mouth.

"Fortunately, I saved you back then. You never disappoint me." Byron put the little basket down, patted Herbert's head, then picked up the meat and held it to its mouth. "I won't eat it. It's yours." Herbert glanced at Byron, then at the chicken breast meat.

Athena could practically sense the internal battle it was waging in its mind.

Byron simply stuffed the meat into its mouth.

Herbert couldn't resist the temptation anymore and kept the chicken breast meat in its mouth before happily running away.

Byron was about to pick up the basket again when Aiden took a step ahead.

He was still somewhat quiet and seldom called him Dad after that day.

But he always appeared to help Byron whenever he was needed.

"Thank you, Aiden," Byron said gently.

Aiden nodded and walked ahead in silence.

Byron spent more time outside today than usual.

As he returned, his leg was already slightly aching, but he endured it without saying a word.

He stayed in the living room for a while before being taken back to the room by Athena.

After Byron came back, there was one thing he insisted on.

He wouldn't let anyone help him take a bath, not even Athena.

While Byron bathed, Athena waited outside, afraid he might fall or something.

As he finished bathing and came out, Athena helped him dry his hair.

This was a rare moment when they had complete privacy.

They immersed themselves in this romantic time.

Athena's hand slipped into Byron's pajamas, her fingertips tracing the scars gently.

Each touch brought her a twinge of pain.

Byron pressed her hand gently. "It will get better," he reassured, his voice slightly hoarse. Athena responded softly and then tilted her head to kiss him, just like the past few nights.

They kissed passionately but refrained from going too far.

Knowing they had plenty of time to make up for it later, Athena wouldn't be greedy.

The first night back home, Byron slept better than he thought he would.

Early the next morning, Aiden, Mia, and Ottilie all had to go to school.

Athena got up early.

She wanted Byron to rest a little more.

But he insisted on getting up too.

If she got up, he would too.

The four of them had breakfast together in the dining room.

"Daddy, are you sending us to school today?" Mia asked, her beautiful eyes full of anticipation as she looked at Byron.

"Of course!" Byron immediately agreed and then looked at Athena unconsciously.

"Why are you looking at me? Do you think I'll disagree?" Athena smiled and asked.

Byron's face immediately broke into a smile.

Athena also smiled, lowering her eyes slightly.

She guessed that Julian probably couldn't hold on any longer.

He was probably going to take action soon...

After breakfast, Athena and Byron, who hadn't done so in a long time, accompanied Aiden and Mia to school.

The two little ones were visibly thrilled.

"Mrs. Crawford, I finally get to see you! The art center that Mr. Crawford donated to has almost been completed. Since you're here, would you like to visit?"
