"Okay," Byron agreed. His right leg still needed two more surgeries.

During his previous time at sea, he had likely sustained an injury to his leg, leading to a fractured bone. Although Seth handled it, the treatment hadn't been optimal, causing issues with the bones and muscles to varying degrees.

The skeletal issues could be resolved through surgery.

But the muscle and tendon problems required gradual rehabilitation to restore.

As they conversed, Herbert joyfully carried something over to Byron.

Upon reaching Byron, it placed the item by his feet.

Then it propped itself up on its forelimbs, wagging its tail and letting out a couple of barks.

Athena and Byron lowered their heads and found a large piece of chicken breast meat.

It was Herbert's favorite snack.

"Herbert, do you want him to have this?" Athena realized its meaning and asked with a wry smile.

Herbert seemed even happier and let out proud barks in response.

Athena immediately burst into laughter.

At this point, Aiden and Mia came over.

Mia said hopelessly, "Herbert, this is a dog treat. Daddy doesn't eat dog treats!"

Herbert looked at Mia in confusion. Perhaps it didn't understand.

Nonetheless, it continued to wag its tail and bark at Byron eagerly.
