Chapter 1321 Counterattack

Mia didn't know what had happened.

She hadn't seen her parents all day and just woke from a nightmare.

She stood frozen, lost in a daze.

Obsidia was afraid that Ottilie would call for help.

Before she could get her bearings, a shadow burst toward Ottilie, dagger glinting.

Ottilie charged to meet her attacker.

With lightning speed, she leaped and snapped both feet into the assassin's chest.

The kick sent Obsidia reeling.

He never expected such force from a wisp of a girl.

His footing faltered on the stairs, and almost fell down.

He barely caught himself from an embarrassing tumble.

"Who's there?" A man's angry yell echoed from below.

"Jaxson, help! He's an assassin after Mia!" Ottilie shouted immediately.

Just a moment ago, she didn't dare to make a sound because she didn't know the situation outside, including how many assassins had arrived and how many security personnel were left in the residence. Now, upon hearing Jaxson's voice and confirming that he was unharmed, Ottilie finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Damn it!"

Obsidia snarled, ditching the man racing up the steps.

With lightning speed, he tried again to rush to Mia.

His sole focus was reaching the second floor to complete his mission, even if it was just one kill.

"Not so fast!"

Ottilie pulled a dagger out of her back and struck swiftly.

But after a few moves, Ottilie soon lost ground against the ruthless assassin.

Just then, the dim villa blazed with light, momentarily blinding Obsidia.

Seizing the distraction, Ottilie slashed at his eyes.

As he recoiled, she kicked with all her might, knocking him down the stairs.

Ottilie was ready at the landing.

Jaxson stomped down on Obsidia's spine, then grabbed a fistful of hair to drag the assassin's limp body across the floor.

The lights had alerted the exterior guards too.

They swarmed inside, surrounding Mia and Ottilie.

Seeing this, Ottilie, in front of Mia, thought the threat neutralized and then let the dagger slip from her numb fingers.

"Ottilie!" Mia cried.

At her voice, Jaxson raced upstairs to check on them.

"Miss Mia Newton! Are you alright?"

He had been on the phone with Logan when the assassin slipped in.

What a bad timing.

"Ottilie, are you okay?" Mia asked anxiously.

Mia was still struggling to grasp what had happened.

"It's alright. He was just too strong. My wrist's tingling from the impact!" Ottilie covered her wrist as she spoke.

When she looked at the opposite, Ottilie found that Aiden stood there, brows knitted, glaring at the assassin pinned below.

He must have sensed Mia's distress through their twin bond.

He had intended to check on her in her room.

When he rushed to find her, the blur of Ottilie's intense battle greeted him instead.

He had been aware of the events during this period of time.

Aiden was already worried when their parents never came home or called all day.

The assassin aimed to kill Ottilie. Seeing Ottilie's life hanging by a thread, he instantly flipped every light switch through his smartwatch.

This created the distraction Ottilie needed to gain the upper hand.

"Jaxson!"

A guard called from downstairs, "Mike's been attacked!"

"Stay with them. I'll check on Mike!" Ottilie stopped Jaxson and hurried downstairs.

She arrived to find Mike's face drained of color, the floor pooling with blood.
