Chapter 1300 Sally

Byron's eyes were slightly teary. "Alright, Thea, thank you for everything."

"Don't be so formal. Go home, and I'll check on Sally," Athena said with a smile.

Byron furrowed his eyebrows slightly and said, "If she tries to spread rumors and drive a wedge between us again."

Athena smiled and said, "Why do you still remember those things? She won't be able to sow discord between us. Go quickly!"

Athena gently nudged Byron.

Byron hugged her, saying, "Come back soon."

"Okay."

After Byron departed, Athena visited Gideon's hospital room and found Sally caring for him.

"You're here," Sally looked much better, and there was finally a hint of a smile.

Athena sat across from her with a cheerful smile and glanced at Gideon.

"Have you two patched things up?" Athena asked.

Sally's expression was somewhat awkward. "Well, we can't exactly say we've reconciled, just that it's a relationship between adults. But let me tell you, that fake death stunt you pulled back caused me so much trouble. Byron pursued me relentlessly for two to three years. He even said that you wouldn't have died if it weren't for me. Though I don't know the exact reasons behind all that, he's not the type to make empty claims. I felt guilty for a long time and even sought therapy."

Sally had few friends, but she considered Athena to be one. In her view, she felt responsible for Athena's death because of her mischievous pranks.

Sally was utterly devastated.

Fortunately, she avoided Byron daily not letting him catch her.

"I'm sorry, I was also desperate at that time," Athena said with guilty.

Sally explained, "I understand you. Byron is crazy. Who knows how he tortures you, and he's entangled with his self-proclaimed true love, Freya, who is pretending. You are Byron's true love." Athena smiled back and deflected the topic, saying, "Though it's a bit late, let's catch up. How have you been these past few years?"

Sally shrugged and glanced at Gideon, saying, "I had a falling out with my dad, and I haven't been taking his money for a while now. Care to guess what I'm doing for a living these days?" She looked at Athena provocatively as if asking her to guess.

For some reason, Sally's words suddenly brought back the album that had shocked Athena years ago.

Athena asked, "Are you involved in that kind of business?"

"What kind of business?"

Athena whispered, "In nightclubs, strippers, and strip club kings!"

Athena lowered her voice as if afraid Gideon would hear.

After hearing that, Sally laughed and said, "You still remember that! Of course not. I'm involved in legitimate businesses, running beauty clinics and upscale nail salons!"

After finishing her words, Sally proudly gestured with her fingers. "I have three large medical beauty centers and twelve upscale nail salons in Mailand. My businesses are thriving. Although I can't compete with you, I earn much more than my lousy father gives me yearly. It feels much better to spend money earned by myself."

"Congratulations, you've finally found your career path," said Athena sincerely. "And I wish you all the best in your love life."

Sally's cheeks flushed, and she looked a bit embarrassed.

Sally said, "Your son and daughter are so adorable! When can I meet them? They must be geniuses. I hope they won't think I'm not as smart as them."
