"What's up with you?" After Ottilie walked away, only then did Athena turn around and pinch Byron's cheeks, asking in exasperation, "Do you really have to look so fierce?"

Byron held her hand. "It's normal to worry. You're over ten minutes late."

"Hasn't she undergone a psychological assessment at your request?" Athena sounded slightly frustrated. "You know it's just her upbringing and high intelligence that make her appear different from other kids, not some antisocial personality."

"I hear you." Byron nodded.

"You're such a peculiar dad." Athena hugged his waist. "You have several bodyguards around you who only became loyal to you after their failed assassination attempts on you. Instead of worrying about them, you're worried about a little girl."

Byron looked at his wife.

Somewhat helplessly, he said, "Maybe becoming a father makes a person more vulnerable?"

Athena laughed. "Don't give me that!"

Byron joined in her laughter.

After the final exams, Mia and Aiden welcomed their first winter holidays ever.

For Aiden, the break didn't make much of a difference.

He just continued his studies in a different location, but it was totally different for Mia.

She ran around like a wild horse, and not even the harsh cold weather outside could stop her from having fun.

Herbert was already a healthy and chubby dog.

When Athena woke up and walked to the window wall, wrapped in a blanket, she saw Herbert running around in the grass with Mia with its mouth wide open and its tongue dangling outside its mouth. Alice couldn't keep up and was clapping her thighs in frustration.

Jaxson was standing absent-mindedly when Herbert rushed toward him in excitement and, without any hesitation, knocked down the six-foot-tall man.

It then ran back to Mia's side, circling around her.

Byron walked over and hugged Athena from behind.

Having stayed up late the night before, he was still a bit groggy.

He couldn't find his wife in the midst of his sleep and instinctively followed behind her.

He held her tightly, burying his head in her neck.

Athena reached back and ran her fingers through his messy hair. "Mia's got so much energy that only a Golden Retriever can keep up with her."

Byron smiled softly and opened his eyes to look outside.

He noticed Jaxson sitting up, and Herbert, seeing that, turned around and sat right on him.

Byron was baffled by the sight.

"Seems like Jaxson took the meat meant for Herbert and buried it under the rose bushes as compost, which Herbert caught him doing," Athena explained as if reading his confusion.

"Stealing a dog's chicken leg, how audacious," Byron remarked, then playfully said, "Stay in bed with me for a little longer."

In the past winters, Byron enjoyed sleeping with Athena.

At first, he stubbornly refused to spend the night at her place. He couldn't remember which winter night it was, but after they were done, it was already late, and he didn't feel like leaving, so he stayed. The next morning, he woke up to find her sleeping like a kitten in his arms, fragrant, soft, and warm.

After that, he started staying over more frequently.

During the last winter before their separation, he practically lived at her place.

Athena checked the time.

"Will it really be okay if I represent Imbe Group Energy during today's meeting with the Ross family?" Athena asked hesitantly.

She wasn't afraid of the Ross family.

However, given the tumultuous events that happened in the past, it was inevitable for the Ross family to have some lingering concerns.

"The upcoming projects revolve around energy, and it's inevitable for Imbe Group Energy to be involved. If they feel uncomfortable, they can choose another company to work with," Byron replied, suddenly lifting Athena with both arms. "Getting half an hour more sleep is more important right now."
