My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup -
Chapter 1255
Chapter 1255 Offer Rejected
"Sure, I'll leave it up to you."
All that time, Ottilie saw everything she had done as a challenge to earn herself the right to stay.
The issue of her father's retirement weighed heavily on her heart.
"I'll take you to the school later."
Ottilie looked puzzled. "School?"
"Are you scared?" Athena sensed her unease.
"There are many strangers, and it doesn't feel safe," she said honestly.
Familiar faces could be recognized even with disguises, but strangers could easily lurk around her even without masks.
So, it was quite dangerous.
"I'll show you around the school first, and then you can decide if you want to go or not."
"Okay." Ottilie nodded.
She really liked that beautiful and wealthy woman.
She was unlike anyone else she had met, for she wouldn't force her to do anything.
She could choose to stay if she wished to, or she could leave, too, if that was what she desired.
She could also either attend school or choose not to.
"Let's go then."
"What about my father?"
"He'll join you later. It's not the right time for him to be in public right now."
"Okay."
Ottilie was very easygoing.
Soon, she got into the car that would take her to school.
The car drove straight into the campus.
At that time, the final exams were still ongoing, and Athena took Ottilie to the teacher's office.
Coincidentally, Paul, whom she hadn't seen for a while, was also there.
"I worked hard to secure a one-year exchange opportunity in Lozangler City for you. Why won't you take it!" The teacher was frustrated. "You little rascal, you seem to be getting more rebellious!" Paul was still wearing a washed-out jacket.
He seemed to have grown taller, and his hair was neatly groomed compared to before.
While standing in front of the teacher, he remained silent, wearing a stubborn look on his face.
Athena knocked on the door.
The teacher looked up and immediately put on a smile upon seeing Athena.
"Good to see you, Athena! I recall that this boy is your relative's child?"
As soon as Paul heard that, his ears turned red, and he furrowed his brows.
"What's going on?" Athena gently nudged Ottilie forward, placing a hand on her back. "Is Paul going to Lozangler City for an exchange program?"
"I'm not going!" Paul replied impatiently.
"You're being stubborn again!" The teacher was fuming.
"Sir, let's talk things out. No need to rush." Athena resigned herself to the role of mediator.
"This is truly a rare opportunity. With his exceptional grades in physics, he'll greatly benefit from it if he goes for a year!" the teacher lamented.
"You guys talk. I've already finished my exam and submitted my paper. I'm heading back," Paul said and began to leave.
To everyone's surprise, Ottilie launched herself to the door, her gaze fixed on him like a hawk. "She didn't say you could leave." Paul's expression became even more livid.
"Ottilie, let him go." Athena didn't expect Ottilie to assign herself such a role.
Obediently, Ottilie stepped aside.
Paul looked troubled.
He had just heard the teacher mention that Mia's sister was coming to study, and she might be in the same class as Mia.
He thought Ottilie didn't seem like an ordinary person and wondered if she would bully Mia.
The frown on his face deepened.
Nonetheless, he left straight away without saying a word.
The teacher also looked a little confused but quickly reverted to a cheerful demeanor. "Let me see that report card first."
"She used to be home-schooled. Let me show you her latest test paper." Athena took out Ottilie's test paper.
Upon laying eyes on it, the teacher was utterly speechless.
"Her handwriting..."
"She's still practicing. When she formally starts school, she'll definitely do better than that," Athena said gently. Ottilie nodded in agreement.
